Remote Wave Free for Android
The people that say that the play + exit button on the app is gray, must be mentally handicapped. "YOU CANNOT OPEN APP BY ITSELF"... When you get a message on email, It will give you the option to open message with" THIS APP"..... PS... Maybe if your phone wasn't clamshell and/or you weren't mentally challenged, you'd figure it out... Go back to sleep!!!!
This app is great for paying my voicemail. WAV files. However it works only when I am connected to Wi-Fi. I cannot find the app anywhere on my phone, yet when I click a WAV file it pops up as one of the apps to use to play that file. Because I cannot find the app on my phone, I cannot get into any settings that might fix the playback when I am on my data plan and not connected to Wi-Fi
THIS is the ONLY Go-To app for listening to VM msgs that arrive in your email as (wav files). Been using it for years and didn't even know there was a paid version. Well worth the cost I'm certain. Thank you.
Only installed this because Yahoo Mail persistently suggested it to play email .wav attachments. Did not work at all! Hung trying to open, could not find file attachment clicked. Installed 4.5 rated Black Wav Player, which played same attachment fine.
This is from Jan-not Rich. This sucks and does not work. They only want you to pay for the one that works. Hate that-I will find something else because of it. Rated # 1 It used to work. Not any more.
I have been desperately seeking Susan...just kidding. I have been scouring the net for months that would play wave file attachments in an email. Like so many others, my verizon voicemail is sent to me via email as a wave file attachment. This program plays the wave file right out of the email. There is no need to download the file and go look for it to play it. I would gladly pay this developer for this wonderful application. Thank you so much for making my life easy.
Not the greatest looking UI but does the job. Plays my magic jack voice mail message wav file right from my Gmail app. I rate this app 3 stars because there is a better app out there called WavPlayer it looks way better and the audio quality and volume is much better and has more useful settings. So now I'm using WavPlayer.
I down loaded this so I could listen to my email from work off our Exchange server. The native music player couldn't (said the file format wasn't supported .wav really?)and neither would winamp, but remote wave worked like a charm right away. If you're still having trouble u need to make sure remote wave is the default app for listening to those files. A quick Google search will provide lots of good info.
Just installed the free version on my old HTC Merge (sliding QWERTY keyboard) with Android 2.3.4, and it worked fine. I wanted the volume higher than the +25% showing, so I uninstalled the free version and hoped the paid version would allow volume control. Doesn’t seem to. But, I can listen to my MagicJack v-mails OK as an attachment in e-mail. Just what I needed. I don’t mind paying the developers $2 since it helps me, even if I would have thought the paid version may have more features. (Why have a volume “button” if it doesn’t do anything? Oh well, mysteries of the programming world.)
Would not play voicemails from a Mitel system. I forwarded one voice mail to the listed email address and received no reply after more than a day (got a reply today that verified the format was not recognized, increased a star). Is nice when it works.
I have this app installed but when I try to play a file I downloaded it doesn't give e me the option to choose remote wav to play the file? It shows 2 other apps to choose from but this app doesn't show up anywhere so I can use it. The file I downloaded has the correct file extension so it should play fine with remote wav but it doesn't show up anywhere when I try to play it. Please help with this issue and I will change my rating to 5 stars and i will purchase the pay version of remote wav.!
The imbedded Sound Player played my MagicJack voice message perfectly. Uninstalled. The good news was that it doesn't require a bunch of permissions that most apps use to spy on you so they can collect data to sell.
I had a 52 seconds long voice message which could not play fully. It stops within hardly 7 seconds on my Android phone (Google Nexus S) using this download. Actually I am thankful for this app because earlier I could not play it at all. But after installing this; this is my troublesome experience with the first message I tried to play. I did not have any problem hearing it on my PC though. Any helping hand? Thanks.
I've just tried it for opening WAV files sent me from my voice mail account. It does the job well:-) I've tried many other apps including WinAmp that didn't work. Many thank to the programmer!
This app works fine but I have found if you want to play MagicJack voicemail attachments simply use Google Play music app if you have it. Does the same thing this one does without having to install separate app. I don't use this app anymore for that reason.

It's 3 years since the last update so don't be surprised if it doesn't work on your phone. Having said that, I've been using it on 2.1, 2.3 and now on 4.2.2 and it still works (although it force closes when stopping the play now). Receive a GSM encoded voicemail, open voice attachment with Remote Wave and it will automatically start playing. If it doesn't play your voicemail, it may be your Wav file is not GSM 6.1 encoded. It would be nice if the app can get a refresh. 3 years is a long time considering there aren't many alternatives. But it does work for some. Also, no use posting please fix, it's a dead project.
Some files only play the first few seconds then app either crashes or just stops playing the file. Paid version does nothing different far as I can tell and although it's a newer version it has all the same problems as the old. Look elsewhere for free apps that play goofy codex audio files.
I swear I have tried everything out there... Here it is, I have my phone with Verizon Fios. One of its features is to forward my voice mail message to my phone. I use gmail so when fios sends my message to my motorola droid bionic all I have to do is touch the preview button and whala - it plays my message (wav file). Also works on samsung droid charge. Be aware that there is no Icon to open - its just there. If you want to uninstall it you would have to go to "manage apps" or "google play". ♥it.
Just like a lot of people, I need an app to play my email attachments from voicemail. This basic app does the job. But I cannot see any justification why it must access my location from my GPS, so I have uninstalled it and will use an alternative with more features and less privacy concerns!
Huawei Sonic Android 2.3.3. Delighted to finally be able to listen to .wav file attachments on the phone. Tried other options that were supposed to be able to play .wav files but they didn't work.
I have VoIP vms forwarded to my email when I'm out of office, vanilla Android doesn't support downloading the wav files, this does exactly what I need! Possible improvement would be to have a slide bar to control the output. Other than that, works flawlessly.
After trying many other apps and, in the process, learning a bit about audio compression, I found this masterpiece! Thank you for going the extra mile with "auto speaker" and volume boost. Now I can get my voice mail via email !! This application works great!
Now I can play my voice mail from magic jack. One problem is if I stop before end of vm message I cannot exit and close. I had to stop it through the task manager, please check on this, otherwise it works great.
I have been searching for a utility that will play my voice mail attachments sent to my email from MagicJack. No other player has been able to open the attachments until now. This works great!
Without this I could kiss my magicjack good bye. It even seems to work where if I answered the call it wouldn't come through as clear.
I had the app for years and worked well. Now whenever I try to play my wav vm, using preview in email, it can't play the file from that location. I had a s4 from sprint and it worked. I now have a s4 from Verizon and it doesn't. The problem maybe Verizon support and protect app. I am having to switch apps. New app I found works but I can't make it turn off speaker phone like this app could.
It used to work great few months ago. But it hasn't played my magicJack voicemails for months now. I can't believe the app either just crashes or can't access the file. I don't recommend it until it is fixed.
I uninstalled and bought a different app. This one still pops up when I try to play a wav file. File won't play and it won't let me use the paid app either.
Update: stopped working suddenly after it worked so well for so long. Bummer. Had to install a different app. Previous review: Simple and effective. Played my wav file. Unable to do so before this download. Works as expected on my galaxy S4 mini.
Bam, works like a charm. No setup needed. Now I can listen to .wav files (voicemails) from my corporate email account.

Now remote wave stopped working when I receive voice messages from my magic jack phone system into yahoo. It tells me permission denied and no one can help me fix it!!!
Y wld I try paid version when freebie doesn't work? Simplier 2 use VLC.
Get an error that it does not have rights to the download folder and does nothing.
Does the job but VLC also plays the low bit WAV files and allows for fast forward and rewind. (As well as plays video, although admittedly VLC is a much larger download.)
Upgraded to KitKat and I now get a permissions denied error
Have been looking for an app to play my email wav files, works great! Thanks!
Love it on my old computer . With my new Window8.1its still search for some strange reason if it don't work by morning I'm gonna uninstall it

This is the BEST free, tiny (lite) app to use if you want a simple, non intrusive player, capable of playing .wav files created by many voip phone systems, including hosted pbx, cloud based phone systems, and on site hardware based systems! The player built into Android can't play this format of WAV file natively, but Tiny WAV is an awesome solution to this problem. I have had it deployed to all of the Android devices in my organization for many years, and it's been 100% maintenance free. Thanks for developing such a perfect little app which does what it's supposed to so well!
