About Toponix for Tablets Trial
The application is intended for viewing topographic maps of the General Staff of the USSR and orienting on the terrain with their help.
With this application you can:
• view maps of the General Staff of the USSR in JPEG (preferred), and PNG;
• move from one map to another map with the same scale, and to maps with another supported scale with preserving of focused location;
• determine coordinates of your current location, the accuracy of their determination, altitude, speed and direction of movement;
• record after a specified period of time the above indicators in a log file;
• display on a map a trajectory of motion from the log;
• use your device as a compass;
• monitor operation of the GPS receiver;
• measure a traveled distance using three independent counters;
• save remarkable places, group them and display on a map in the form of various icons.
• send current coordinates to the server, so that the device's path can be viewed on another device. This can be useful for the peace of your loved ones;
• there are another functions.
Before installing the application, please note the following:
• You should be interested in this application if you imagine what the General Staff maps are, and you can use them in your activities.
• All cards are usually in Russian.
• This application is designed for use on large screens (tablets). On small screens, using it can be inconvenient.
• The application contains a large number of functions, so you will need to read the instructions. It can be found directly in the application. If you do not like to read the instructions, then it's unlikely you will like the application.
• Toponix for Tablets Trial has limited time to use. If you like the application, you should install a full version of Toponix for Tablets.
Maps you can download directly into the application, and you can use your own.
If you download maps in the application, then they are available in the territory of the USSR and some other regions. To load the first map, turn on the GPS receiver on the device, activate this function in the application (menu->actions->use GPS), wait for the coordinates to be determined, then load the map (menu->maps->load for the current coordinates). If there is a map for this place, it will be loaded.
If you use your maps, please note that they must be in JPEG format, and have calibration files in * .map format for Ozi Explorer, and have names of a certain type. Among the sources of maps, we can recommend http://loadmap.net. Downloaded from there cards need to rename and convert the format to jpeg.
