I like where this is headed! It seems to be exactly what I am looking for, except I would love to see a markdown toolbar. I found the extras feature by accident, and the scrolling window became very small when the keyboard appeared for editing which made scrolling very difficult. All in all, this is a great effort and I look forward to future updates. Galaxy Note 2.

Saves markdown notes as a json file (note for my own benefit, not as an issue). May be fine for others but not what I'm looking for.
