T-Mobile HotSpot Connect for Android
Release Notes: v1.3 full screen web experience for devices with larger screens.
In elementary school, I'd send a note home with you to give to your parents. Your app looks horrible, has 1 button which opens my browser and locates T-Mobile stores in my area. Your parents should have a talk with you about the consequences of your lack of effort.
My understanding is that if WiFi is turned on, and this app is loaded , the phone will automatically logon to a T-Mobile Hotspot. Hasn't happened yet. AT&T had something similar, but it was built in without adding the app. So not sure if my phone even needs this.
I travel all over and this never finds a hot spot. When I click on manual search it searches for a T-Mobile store location. What?? So I need to go to a retail shop to find a hot spot? So worthless
I read all the negatives and installed the app anyway. .. turned on gps... it took close to 10 mins then by George. .. notices from my apps... twitter etc. Were popping up... don't know why all the whining and crying goin on.... just a little patience... waiting. . And not touching any buttons... and poof... presto chango... I was on the hotspot... sitting at home soaking up the ac... far far from any store or hotspot... and I'm flawlessly doing what I set out to do... thanks for the app :D
I am updating my review from 2012: This app is ABANDONWARE. It used to connect folks to T-Mobile's WiFi network. That network, as of 2016, is long gone. This app is left from 2010. Eventually a new technology called Hotspot 2.0 will replace this app's original functionality. That is an industry initiative that should start showing up in the next year or so. But there is absolutely no point to this app now or in the past few years. I've no idea why T- USA has left it here but ignore it
Was excited to find this app but all it seems able to do is find the nearest t-mobile stores. That's not at all helpful.
Doesn't locate WiFi, it locates tmobile stores (okay..so yeah it finds WiFi, at their stores). This would be great of o wanted to hang around a t-mobile store all day.
Hotspot locator searches for stores? I love how I have to download an app that opens my browser to search. This thing sux.
Unable to get location; all it can do is redirect me to a T-Mobile webpage where I can search for a hotspot. I need an app running in the foreground all the time for that. The webpage is *not* optimized for mobile browsers. It's almost funny. Does anyone at T-Mobile have a brain?
Search sends you to store locator. I know where T-Mobile stores are, thanks. Thank God I'm rooted. Deleted faster than any other app in history lol
T-Mobile 'Throttles' your bandwidth making 'unlimited' data a joke... AT&T was sued by the FTC for throttling... T-Mobile.. tsk tsk shame on you. Start making YOUR apps data free ATLEAST! We all pay enough monthly.
Geez more lousy carrier app. It doesn't do what it says it only opens chrome and asks for a zip code to locate a store, does not find hotspot. Uninstalled and shame on you T-Mobile for making junk like this
Was told this was useless and wouldn't work very precisely (doesn't work at all for me) by a T-Mobile store representative; was redirected to use the wifi built in setting.
This doesn't do anything. I have a $60 unlimited plan in MetroPCS and still have very very slowly hotspots speed it's annoying cuz my mom also has the same plan and her Hotspot is super fast only difference is she bought her phone directly from the MetroPCS shop, mine is OnePlus3 from China
it crashed my son s fone had replacement. whats for hot spot DUH?! CORRECT TAPPED TO ATT TOWERS for voice NOT DATA!it sucked.!
T-Mobile no longer has a hotspot network, unless you count their stores, and this app will not log you in to those automatically
This app isn't what I thought it was. It doesn't find wifi or help u connect to wifi it says it will find a hot spot but then directs me to "T-Mobile store near you" Useless. Point blank.
An annoyance. Will no one rid me of this meddlesome app?
I would prefer this app pre-installed on my T-Mo phone instead of all the useless bloatware apps.
After installing this app, I've never seen my device connect to a t-mobile hot spot, but I have seen plenty of messages saying "Unfortunately T-Mobile Hotspot Connect has stopped." I don't know if there are any hotspots nearby because the locator button simply sends me to t-mobile's store locator page.
I wanted to enable a WiFi hotshot without going through settings or 1/2a dozen steps. This app will help you find random T-mobile stores. So there's that.
I've never opened this app. Nor did I install it. Evidently it's T-Mobile bloatware. It supposedly informs you whenever you're near a T-Mobile WiFi hotspot. I doubt I've EVER seen an AP transmitting a T-Mobile SSID. Which makes this app truly useless from it's inception. Add to that the fact that Android informs me daily that this app has crashed and it truly earns the one star.
Once you opt-in and install this app like I did, you can never uninstall it without rooting your phone, which basically wipes everything and starts you off with a factory-fresh phone you actually control. This is classic mobile carrier bloatware that you can't remove. If you're like me and your older phone didn't come with this app preinstalled, do not be lured by false claims and manually install it, you cannot uninstall it once it's in, then you're really screwed. There is zero benefit to installing it.
T-Mobile needs to better explain the purpose of this app. Also, when your smartphone connects to a T-Mobile HotSpot it should alert the user of the same. Finding this app in the Google Play store was an arduous task. T-Mobile should post a link directly from their website to this app in the Play store.
This app just weight 122kb. That means it is only a link to a web page, so you won't connect to nothing, just the nearest store. Come on guys, tmobile can't afford more towers neither install hotspots.
It only takes you to the T-Mobile store locator website. This app has nothing whatsoever to do with any hotspots. What a waste of a good concept... Smdh #uninstalling
If you are looking for the nearest store, it is useful. However that isn't what the name implies it does.
Does help some, but it drops out sometimes. As of lately it doesnt really seem to be of much help. How about fixing the app!!
Keeps crashing, even though I don't use it. Tries to impose itself after I've already connected to a hotspot manually.
Wow....just wow.....Google can find a a t-mobile without an app way to go t-mobile just proving your very special in so many ways

Doesn't work. Only goes to the store. Needs over 3 years worth of updates.
Search feature only brings up Web page to find stores, not hotspots. S6 Edge
All it does it point you to the location of the nearest T-Mobile store. Yet Tmobile advertises this app like crazy so I feel like I am missing something. Someone please explain it to me.
It doesnt even work it just finds the closest t-mobile store and tries to connect to that
I never see T-Mobile wireless in Long Island NY pls up your locations
Such a useless crap. Like everything from t-mobile. Doesn't work at all. CrapCrapCrap. T-mobile you are the worst ever!!! I wish, I could give a negative -100! Market should ban t-mobile
Will review again later but says it is a free app.
Tameka It's useless! Don't Get it...plus it charges you to use it

All this thing does is provide a button that is a shortcut to their website page for store location. Which in itself wouldn't be so bad but it doesn't even feed in the data to tell the site where you are so you even have to type your zip code. Are you kidding me?
