About T-Mobile Visual Voicemail

T-Mobile Voicemail keeps getting better and better! With Visual Voicemail you can listen to messages in any order, respond in one click, update your contacts, and easily manage your inbox without ever dialing into your voicemail.

No need to change your T-Mobile voicemail number or to reconfigure your voicemail forwarding - Visual Voicemail activates for free at first launch. You can also upgrade to Voicemail to Text for a small monthly fee and receive all your voicemails transcribed into text directly in the application inbox, as an SMS message, or to an email address.

T-Mobile Visual Voicemail may use infrequent, free SMS messages to communicate with the Voicemail server.

An Unread Messages widget is now included with T-mobile Visual Voicemail. On most Android devices you can add the Visual Voicemail widget by long pressing on any free space on your home screen, selecting 'Add Widgets', and choosing the Visual Voicemail widget from the alphabetical list.

i love it! i let a lot of calls go to voicemail, and then i just don't have the time to sit and listen. while the visual messages don't always come out as voiced by the caller, i realize the app is limited to that particular person's ability to enunciate clearly. i like that the app lets me delete messages that couldn't be visualized for whatever reason, usually to the reason i mentioned above, without making me listen to them first. :/

Loved this app for spam warnings and ease of blocking unwanted callers. Used it for 5-1/2 years without the added pay VM-to-text service until they made it free. It transcribed voice msgs great too. I had to switch to Verzon due to reception problems. This app is sooo much better than the Version app. In fact everything about TMobile is better than Verizon (except network coverage). I wish I could have stayed with TMobile. ????

This app used to work really great on my T-Mobile service provided phone. However, now even though it shows me that I have voice messages, when I click to play them it's just silence, and no audio is available. And know for sure that I I have messages that are not just butt dialed.

Great app for voicemail access. When it works. Latest update caused no sync. I went into Settings->App->Visual Voicemail. Clear Data & Clear Cache. Run it again clean. Re-setup voicemail and it sync 1st time ok. I closed the app and re-open. Seem can sync ok for now. Even though slow sync. Better than no sync at all.

Never had a problem until last update. I thought it was odd that I had no voicemails. Until I restarted my phone and got a bunch of notifications and voice mails. Then right back to not syncing or getting any mail. Guess it's time to delete this app because it's been at least 2 wks since update and no fix?

by T####:

Reliable. Only improvement would be to bring back the original badge it had on the icon showing new voicemails have come in; same as text messages icon. It's a convenience for those of us who live with the phone muted from time to time.

I have had my phone for 10 months approx. The notification has never worked despite the app being removed and reinstalled, force stop several times. I have been to tmobile stores twice, they synced it, still doesn't send notifications to home screen or indicate number of voicemails. Updates done continually.

UPDATE 12/14/17: Still not working. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Doesn't work since latest update in November, 2017. Refuses to sync. Says not connected to data. Also causes my 4G LTE icon to stay on while I'm on my wifi. Disabling the app immediately makes the 4G LTE icon disappear. Tech support at T-Mobile is clueless. Please fix.

What this version claims to fix, I never had issues with. Ironically, after updating, voicemails no longer sync.

V70%
by V####:

Great app for checking voicemail, but it needs more fine tuning. When trying to listen to my voicemail with the phone to my ear, my face can still open notifications and trigger buttons on the screen which is annoying.

T70%
by T####:

Don't install the new update -it'll cause you to lose voice mails that are even locked. Complete waste

T70%
by T####:

(12/05/17. IT'S WORKING AGAIN, THANKS) Visual Voicemail would not download messages even after tapping refresh several times. I missed some business this month because the app didn't have the new messages and the regular voicemail icon that usually pops up when the visual voicemail doesn't download did not pop up as well. The regular voicemail icon just started working again today which is the only reason I found out I had new messages that had been sitting.

After the recent update it no longer synchs my voice mails. I've tried unistalling, rebooting... Nothing works. Are you planning to fix this?!

T70%
by T####:

Threw a big stink about the app not syncing since the last update on Twitter yesterday. Just got an update and all my voicemail appeared. Back to 5 stars.

Works exactly as it should. So much more convenient than calling in and using the cumbersome dial pad and menu to manage your voicemails! Love T-Mobile.

T70%
by T####:

My voice mail still won't sync on s8 plus, T-Mobile sending me new phone. Issue corrected with latest update back.

K70%
by K####:

Audio volume is disappointing. It doesn't detect when you have the phone to your ear so your phone display stays on and reacts to touch. Blah.

W70%
by W####:

I appreciate this app so much because of the convenience in seeing a written transcript of my voicemails and also selecting which voicemails I want to listen to rather than hearing the complete queue. Changed my life!

T70%
by T####:

Cannot shut off or change notification sound. Somehow a rooster call became the notification of received voicemail, cannot find how to change it and even though notifications from it have been shut off it still sounds off

Update December 2017: This app has been working fine lately. I much prefer it to calling in to listen to voicemail. Original Review July 2017: This app used to be great, but stopped notifying me if new voicemail. I almost didn't get a job due to not getting a voicemail for a follow up until I opened the app to LOOK for a different voicemail.

This app used to work. Now it won't even let me open it. Im restarted my phone and uninstalled the app and re-installed it.

N70%

Application will not launch and hasnt for a while. Uninstalled/reinstalled - no change. Went to look for support on T-Mo website - none listed for this issue. 1 star until its fixed. Samsung Galaxy 8+

Used to work. Since last update it's useless.

K70%

Google Voice transcription is free and far better than this app. So why are you charging for an inferior product?

T70%
by T####:

Doesn't work. Keeps trying to activate but never does. Over 15 attempts in the last two days

I70%

I can't see notification when I have a voice mail. I've checked rechecked settings, no joy. You can do better!

S70%

It doesn't even let me open it and I tried to update it and uninstalling it and reinstalling it and because I did that it made me delete stuff off my phone for not enough space and the app still doesnt work. Please fix it.

by T####:

I've had this issue in the past and removed this service. I do not get notified by the app that there is a vm for me. I would literally have to go into the app, several times a day, to retrieve any vm's.

Worked fine until I got a smart watch, now when I try to listen to my voicemail, if my watch is connected to my phone I can only listen to them on speaker. If I unpair my watch it works fine.

C70%

The app used to work (I think) but now I've just noticed that I've had neumerous voicemails that never synced with the app. Not good!

T70%
by T####:

it used to be very good and time saving. but it haven't worked for a few months now. it always failed to sync.

G70%

It appears to be working now and I'm glad, I love this app. It's is so helpful and easy to use. Definitely a time saver. If it continues to work it's worth a great rating.

T70%
by T####:

Does not work. Keeps saying we can't sign you in and to retry. Junk. Shouldn't they test these before they come out???

C70%
by C####:

Does not work and cost extra money to use this service unless you have strictly T-Mobile in which I don't family mobile is what I have

P70%

This is the first carrier I've been on that doesn't include visual voicemail for free. Pretty frustrating way to be nickel and dimed.

T70%
by T####:

Was working great but now it says that can not connect to data please fix and then I'll give better rating.

T70%
by T####:

4th update seems to have fixed the sync issue. Not sure why it happened in the first place and who let the quality escape.

T70%
by T####:

I liked this when i first got my galaxy s8. Recently though it force closes instantly after opening and i dont know why

T70%

App was working previously and now voicemails no longer sync. Please fix.
