Hey guys, the app does work, it does exactly what it's supposed to do if your device is a Galaxy Avant & on T-Mobile's network & fully paid off. If you're getting any error message, like (Server isn't responding) or anything of that nature. Call customer service, ask them to update your IMEI, give them your Avant's IMEI, after they update it, thank them & then after your done with the call, shut your phone off. The turn it back on. Give it 4-5 hours, then try the app. It'll work perfectly fine.

The phone is 1 1/2 years old and was/is a popular line of cellphones. Reading other reviews, it's hard to find a phone this app works with. Was it just created to give T-Mobile good publicity? "We'll even let you unlock your phone!"

Our family (5) have had the Galaxy series since its first intro. Most recently, my son's Note 5 was totally recalled & he had to go weeks without before getting his Galaxy 7. We were all going to Munich & Amsterdam for Christmas. We have been such reliable customers that T-Mobile unlocked all our devices in house. When we got overseas, we couldn't receive calls without wifi calling. We could make calls to the states and texts worked via mobile data. Guess who was of NO help - C/S, T/S or the app!

T-mobile told me to download this app and use it to unlock my phone. Thanks for wasting my time, jerks. Here's what I got: "This application is not compatible with this device." A paid off T-mobile Note 4 is incompatible? How convenient for them.

I'm using an m7 which is about 2 years old and it's not supposed. Phone carriers shouldn't have so much reach when it comes to a device you fully paid for. There should be a way to convert your headset to a Google play edition after you fully paid for your device. This is my main gripe with Android in general.

It sounds like a great idea...SOUNDS like a great idea. T-Mobile LG G-PAD X 8.0 (V521WG) Tablet User - Phone CS repeatedly claimed this app would unlock my device but instead all I get is "Device is not compatible with this application." Thus far T-Mobile still has no idea... besides suggesting using this app.. how to unlock a device that they locked, branded, and sold inside their own stores. Device launched June 2nd so it isn't that old, but not know how to unlock something THEY locked would be funny if it weren't so sad.

I have a Samsung Avant and it says "Server doesn't work, try again later". Each time I try later... it's the same issue. Not really interested in calling cs for this issue, as it is a simple enough app to use, but there's obviously an issue with the server or the medium by which my phone communicates with it..

I called T-Mobile to unlock my Samsung Galaxy Note2 and Note4. Tech support said download this app - it is compatible with all Android phones. He was wrong - this app is incompatible with Note2, Note4, and most phones.

I bought my Samsung Note 4 from T-mobile 2 years ago. I have tried the old fashioned way IMEI number and unlock code with another carrier's SIM on two different occasions. It didn't work. This application from T-mobile did not work. Several calls to Customer (Dis) Service did not work (several hours for each call). They said they would call me back. They did not. My next carrier will not be T-mobile.

Lets me install it which means it should be compatible... but when I run the app it says it's not compatible... worthless. t-mobile is just trying to make it hard to unlock phones. which is against the law.

I downloaded this app, it said that it was compatible with my T-mobile Galaxy S5. When I started the app, i got a dialogue that said the app is not compatible with my device. This should not happen. This came from T-mobile, and it doesn't work. If I could give zero stars, I would do that. This is sloppy work if by t-mobile.

It tells me that my phone is not compatible. I just unlocked Samsung S6 using the same app. I think the phone company has to unlock from their side, and then we have to use this app to unlock, which is a headache because T-Mobile can only unlock the phone that is currently being used. I had to use the S6 to be able to unlock it. Thank God I was able to find it's sim card.

After attempting to contact tmobile 5 times to get this tablet unlocked, I have finally given up. This app does not work. I guess I'm going to have to file a complaint with the FCC.

This app does not work for any and all phones at all...the phones listed that it is supposed to work on doesn't even work.... this is a nightmare app throw it away don't waste your time, A Message to the developer, develop the app with correct script and coexisting algo, you understand me, an app is not an app unless it's been developed to function for everyone for every reason it has been developed for. Get it together developer this app is a total bleepin joke !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I fell for this and downloaded it to try. Didn't work and indicated my device is "network locked" well duh... This gets negative 5 stars for helping T-Mobile customers to dislike T-Mo even more. News Flash... Just because I want an unlock doesn't mean I'm leaving... Crimeny sakes T-Mo get off your butts and help your customers... Geezus!

Same story here, app says the phone is locked but won't proceed further and reports device is not compatible with the app. Useless!

Really people, soo many retards on here! You could take the time to write a bad review but couldn't read the description... I guess you don't need to know how to read, you must just look at pictures and click then use voice recognition to type up your useless reviews that make us all less intelligent for reading them. It's a small app, try it, if it works GREAT, if not uninstall and STFU unless you have an Avant, because that's all its supposed to work on in the first place!!!

Forget about unlock, it does not even recognize T-mobile phone. Tmo is good with unlock requests unlike ATT or Verizon wish they have tested this application before launching.

Simply put it doesn't work. Have a t mobile note 4 and it says it's not compatible. Deleting this app

Update Jan. 24, 2016: I am wondering if the upper Management at T-Mobile is the next "IT" or whatever from a secret plan that uses this app to liberate the poor billions of souls that were stolen each time a smartphone was born... I get the distinct impression that they could posibly experience the fame of being a pioneer in the cellular universe by a massive unlocking of ALL their models by giving a choice or just idiots

If you experience any issues unlocking your eligible device, file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission as well as with the Federal Communications Commission. There is no excuse why TMobile cannot unlock your paid for TMobile device!

Ugh this application is supposedly not compatible with my Samsung Galaxy S5. I paid full retail price upfront on the first day of getting my phone, and on top of that my phone is passed 2 years already. Never even had a contract either. What's the deal?

It always says not compatible with this device. Even though it is an older Samsung Galaxy S4. You think that you'd be able to make an app that would unlock the phone.

T-Mobile just told me to use this app to temporarily unlock my phone while I visit Austria. Not even compatible! Customer service reps are complete idiots. Why do I even pay T-Mobile for service?

How can my modern-as-hell HTC M8 not be compatible? As I look through reviews I see endless complaints from Samsungs, LGs & others. This is utter nonsense. This is one of many issues I've had with T-Mobile. Trying to force me to stay? I decline.

Tmobile locked my paid cell phone, will not allow me to use my device with other providers, I've been tossed around from store to store to service lines etc.. Can't unlock it with stupid app the sent in email, the app says its not compatible!! Why????? Anyone please help!!!!!!!

My Wife was forced to use this App instead of the old reliable way to unlock (IEMI number and unlock code). Seemed to successfully unlock and all was good....then when she got to another country and tried to use a new SIM card, it says she needs to unlock the device. T-Mobile Tech support confirmed in their system her phone is unlocked....the app says her phone is unlocked, yet other SIMS do NOT see it as unlocked. Tech support tried to troubleshoot, but after 2 days, they said there is nothing more they can do until she gets back and they can physically get the phone and troubleshoot it. This means she is in another country for the duration of her trip with no working phone other than on Wifi. Thanks T- Mobile. How about you can this app and go back to the way that actually worked!

I bought the avant from t-mobile to use on another network as a backup work phone. The only way they will unlock my phone is if I have it on a service plan with them for 2 months. The app seems to work well, tho, even if only to tell me it can't do anything

I had all the same problems (not working on my Avant, called TMobile, went through hours of trying to get it work, and nothing) keep getting 'Server not responding. Please try again later.' TMobile is now on the phone trying to connect with Samsung to see if they can help us.

Does not work on older phones. Tried with the T-Mobile lg g3. (lg-d851 tn) Update: I didn't read the description. Only compatible with a single Samsung phone. Woops.

Not compatible with my device, even though tmobile said it's compatible with -every - android device? Now I have to possibly wait 14 days to get an unlock pin?

Installed and got the above message when I attempted to run the app on my fully paid for phone. Uninstalling.

what the f does this do qhy would u need it to unlock itself the device right? If you are already in your device and able to use everything in the phone from hence beyond the unlocking mechanism of your device? Wtf is this for? !!!!! this app's description sucks...Just btw!

EVERYONE NEEDS TO GO ONLINE AND REPORT IT TO THE BBB.. ON THE WEBSITE IT STATES THEY WILL UNLOCK UP TO 2 PHONES A YEAR. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS..REPORT IT.. YOU WILL GET YOUR CODE.

You guys better remove this on playstore coz it doesn't work lol what a useless app

It seems most phones are not compatible, something that suppose to be helpful and make a simple procedure can't work properly. It is very disappointing.
