TiVo Tablet (Obsolete) for Android
When someone posts negativity & lowers the rating on an App that works just fine and as it describes, because they are too lazy or busy to do some research on the website & find the info on their own, I say 'shame on your face', for falsely rating someone's creation, to provide you a luxury, previously not available & prior to all the Apps in abundance now. Yet you're willing to trash someone else's work because 'you don't have time'? Or too lazy to do so? #AmazedByWhatWe'veBecome
takes me to a link to a app that says its not comparable with xoom tablet won't let me install what's the deal
Similar to TiVo set top box software, it seems like testing is inconsistent or never happens with this software. Each new release brings new bugs, and resurfaces old bugs. This software used to connect to my TiVo box, now it just keeps insisting that my Roamio Pro does not have network remote enabled. When it sometimes does recognize it, then it says it cannot connect. Useless.
It regularly thinks that I don't have a tablet, but it still lets me set up recordings on the Premiere in the other room. It's better than nothing.
App can't watch live TV. Poor UI on tablets. JUNK!
Really we still can't download to my tablet! Let's go it's almost 2015 and apple has had it forever!
To be of any value, it must have remote viewing of content stored on the Tivo, otherwise it is no more than a poor substitute for a real remote.
The app finally works. But where is the TiVo Stream, support?
As of the latest update, this version is deprecated and disabled. Meanwhile, the new version is incompatible with older hardware. So, I no longer have ANY working version. That is the usual customer service we've come to expect from TiVo. When it worked, it was much easier to maneuver through the options and settings and manage season passes via the tablet than from the remote. And the website is just insulting. The app, though - great for all that I need, if it still worked.
Used to use this a lot. Worked fine, did all I needed. Latest update no longer lets you run the app, it just redirects you to download the a new app. Except my older tablet isn't supported. Wtf? Never should have allowed the update. I should at least be able to close the popular and continental using the old app, even if they don't want to support it anymore.
Why is this an old version? Tivo's website said works on tablets and phones 4.1 or higher my Asus Transformer Prime has 4.1.1 but it says my device is not compatible with the app. But a version does work on my phone so I am glad about that. It does tell me I need updated version and it doesn't take me to new version their isn't one.
says obsolete, go to playstore and get new app. New app doesn't d/l to my device. I have emailed developer. Surprise Surprise no reply. I still say, Tivo is a company that feels like it's working out of a parents garage. They want to be big boys, but just don't succeed.
The app will no longer launch. Takes you to the app store to an app that will not install on my tablet. Now I no longer can set Tivo to record remotely. Thanks a lot.
Horrible ui, unable to use on nexus 10. Search list about a tenth of the screen with unreadable titles; channel search box even less usable. Asked for separate sign ins for two DVRs (both on the same account)... Painful.
1)Can not access settings {Crashes every time I try to click the settings gear with "Unfortunately, TiVo has stopped." message then restarts as if nothing happened.} 2)can not change guide channel list (all/my/favorite), can not connect to Facebook/Twitter... 3)Text and buttons are tiny for all the real estate a tablet offers. 4)I get warning message that this is the tablet version and not the best experience on my device (a tablet) 5)Often just crashes.
It really sucks that I can't watch any of my shows or stations on my Galaxy Tab 2 10". When I had Direct TV I was able to watch anything on my tab. But my complex don't allow Direct TV so I had to settle for this crap. Really sucks. Uninstalling.
It needs and an update pretty soon!
I love using this app when I had my iPad but now that I got a new Google one, it just seems like a step down. When I tried to download it, it said that it was not optimal for my device even though I was on a tablet, too. I liked being able to slide to delete on the iPad and the text is just a wee bit too small for me, especially trying to click the delete button or season pass buttons. Please, please make this more like the iPad version - it needs some love!
Works good sure appreciate it.
I said screw it an went with a Roku!! Best decision I've made!! ;-)
Works on my phone, but not my tablet.
Won't connect to my Roamio Plus.
Everytime I try to search channels the app crashes. Only way I can get to what I need is to scroll thru all stations. The app also does not make good use of the screen real estate and no streaming come on! There has not been one update since I posted this review 10 months ago. TiVo is pathetic in regards to android support
No longer recognizes Guide info on TiVo HD with Nexus 7. Had to uninstall and switch back to TiVo app for phones. And WHERE IS ANDROID STREAMING capabilities? Ridiculous how crippled this app is. Tivo has seriously let it's customers down by not providing download and streaming capabilities and not even giving us the courtesy of knowing exactly what's going on. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.
I use the TiVo app on my iPhone and it's amazing with my 6 tuner roamio. I can download shows for offline usage and also stream shows when on WiFi. You can even stream live TV if you have a tuner free to record it. The android app is useless. It has none of that functionality. Plus it constantly wants me to install a different version on my Nexus 7. The tablet version says to use the phone version and the phone version says to use tablet version. It's ridiculous. 7" tablets and the Nexus in particular are the most popular Android tablets. It's disappointing considering that TiVo is a premium device with monthly service fees. The money definitely did not go towards this app.
It has been far too long of a wait to support streaming on Android after iOS got it. It must simply mean that all communication about support of it around holiday 2013 was bogus. It simply doesn't take this long to release if Tivo really had it prioritized.
I'm a long time Tivo fan; I've had several from the very beginning. However, I doubt I'll ever buy another. Tivo's CEO promised Android support for Stream almost two years ago. Their website has promised that Android support is "coming soon" for almost as long. Still, absolutely nothing. This is vaporware at it's worst. If you're an IOS fan, Tivo seems to want your business; however they've clearly written off the Android community.
Really TiVo? As if the price of the machine and service wasn't enough... How is it possible that the iTunes app works so well, yet Android users are left with this broken garbage? Get it right.
Really, it's 2014!! Why can't we have Stream support for the most popular mobile operating system?
Frequent connection problems that necessitate stopping the app and restarting it. Lots of little bugs or failures to go back correctly. And why is this at version 1.X, when the iOS version is at 3.2+? Come on, TiVo - get it together.
I have this on my 7" device and it keeps telling me to load the phone version. It is slow and clunky. Nav. buttons are tiny. I use this infrequently because it's just easier to do it all on the TiVo.
Really needs to have an option to toggle Keep Until I Delete on shows in my playlist. It's annoying to have to select the TiVo player each time I launch the app. It should remember the one last used. There is a display bug in the Manage feature: it starts several items down in the lists, so you have to scroll to get to the top, which is where it should have started. It's also annoying that you can't collapse groups in the list of my shows. It could use quite a bit more polish...
Worked on my Samsung Galaxy Tab3 for a couple days then started to misbehave; wasted hours trying to figure out how to get it working again and failed; so I dumped it, after seeing so many negative reviews I realized I was wasting my time!
The nexus 7 is not a tablet according to this app?? Also, why do you need a MAK for android when you can't stream video? On the two star side of things, if you lose your remote this app is useful albeit awkward in the hands..
Stopped working within 3 minutes of downloading. I love Tivo, but this app is awful. Please fix. I have it loaded on s nexus 7 tablet and it tells me I am using tablet software on a phone. I just got an email bragging about the TiVo app updates and how it got a nice iOS7 look. I use android and windows. And have told them many times. Get with it. If I wanted apple I'd get apple TV. Service the rest of your TiVo community please.
Prompted to enter Media Access Key, but would not allow it to be entered, at least on Samsung Note 8.0. Great job of screwing up the basics, guys and gals..
Lets go TiVo, get this freaking app updated to work on CURRENT devices!
Only reason I downloaded this app was because I was under the assumption I could watch shows on my tablet. I guess that is what I get for assuming. Yea its good for remote use and recording shows, but I think making it so we who pay good money for our cable can stream our shows on devices would make this 5 star worthy!
