The award winning EXIT Theatre presents 500 performances each year by Indie Theatre artists in its storefront theaters in the Tenderloin of downtown San Francisco. We develop new plays, provide production support and low cost theater rentals to small companies, and annually produce the San Francisco Fringe Festival, the largest grass roots theater festival in the Bay Area.
Founded in 1983, the local alternative press has called EXIT Theatre the "Best (3,000 miles) Off-Broadway Theater," "Best Off-Beat Theatre," and "Best Local Value."
