Sight Reading Trainer for Android
Show me black screen when i click start. :( i want to try please help me or fix
Love this app, but would be even better if you could learn songs instead of just notes
Best sight reading training app ever, like the perfect one for piano players!
This is a game that requires lots of consintration but i wish i could play songs instead of just noats. ;)
a great ap for speeding up notereading and very accurate on a cheap android tablet,
I guess this is helpful for non-musicians, but I would definitely change the title of this app. This is not "sight reading". This is note recognition. While I can see that it would be helpful to a beginning instrumentalist, sight reading is actually playing lines of actual music at sight. Don't download if you're looking to get better at reading music. Download if you're looking to get better at reading a single note at a time.
I really like this app and think it will really help improve my awful sight reading/note recognition. Love the fact you use it with an instrument. I'd like to be able to change two things though. First, on my Samsung A3, the microphone is way too sensitive. It would be great if I could reduce sensitivity. Second, I'd really like to have an option for an open-ended practice session. The 60s exercise duration drives me nuts though I'd still want to keep it available for against the clock challenge. A both hands option would be cool too, switching clefs as well as key signatures. Really nice piece of work.
This is a really good app for piano players, but it feels a little inefficient for guitarists. I wish I could control the range of notes because I'd like to practice different positions on guitar in one session, like from G2-A4 (would cover frets 3-5 across all guitar strings). In fact, a custom mode which allows control over which of the 7 notes appears and if accidentals should appear as well as the octave control would be helpful for practice. I also would like an 8va treble clef so it matches the octave of guitar notation. In 8va notation, up to the 12th fret can be covered with 3 ledger lines top or bottom, which is all that is needed. the next half of the neck is the same as the lower, but an octave up. It may be helpful to also include a way to transposition the staff to other instruments like trumpets which are in Bb instead of C like piano and guitar. The only problem with this app is its bias to piano. That being said I like how the app determines average notes per minute. Its a nice way to see your progress. I've never seen an app use pitch detection like this before and its just brilliant. Thank you!
Loved it!!! Please in the next update add a difficulty level which includes both hands, and for the left hand to have chords, not just single notes.
Great for a quick go at sight reading some random notes, can choose how difficult/spaced out the notes are, and is very responsive to mutiple instruments, i use it with guitar, with great results!
Great App but more suited for the octaves of the piano not guitar Which is what i'm looking for. Obviously the author is bias ti towards the piano.
This app is great for singers. Most sight reading apps focus on notation. I know how to read a staff. The challenge for me as a singer is connecting that knowledge to pitch. This app tells you when you are sharp or flat and allows you to self correct. I don't see why a pianist would have this issue. There isn't another app like this on the app store
This applications takes sight reading to a new level of interactivity. It is a great way to practice sight reading. A nice addition would be to test chord readability. One would play the chord specified on the screen just as a single note would appear.
Ok, I know it was developed having pianists in mind, but I would love if I could train sight reading for my contrabass. I see that the app identifies the notes very well if I play one octave higher, so if I only had the option to make the app identify the sound played one octave lower, that would be perfect!
This thing is awesome!! Works great with my harmonicas. Cant believe Im finally gonna learn to read sheet music:)
the only thing that would make this app 100% perfect would be an exercise for both hands simultaneously and not just one at a time
Everytime it asks me to me to play a sharp or minor it says too low and I pressed all the sharps and minors on the keys but it still says nothing.
Why G clef and F clef of the beginner level, no A and B, only C,D,E,F,G?
This is a great app for folks who need to improve their note recognition skills. It is easy to use and works well.
I would like it better but it doesn't pick up the notes below low C. It says I play all of them too high
Great program. Can you please add a setting for -2 semi tones so I can use it for the trumpet.
Would be even better if can add chords sight reading excercise
Blown away. Amazing app
I'm using it with my guitar, and it's working fine
amazing, waiting the pro version
Love the idea to do it on real piano!
Very awesome app for me
Thanks...really helpful
Fantadtic
Galaxy note3 user here and my screen goes pitch black when i choose a hand to play no matter which. Fix it
Absolutely must have for beginner violin / piano student. Increases your reading speed in no time !!!. Being able to change the 1 min timer would help big time !!
Oh my, this is nearly perfect for its purpose. If I were to change one thing, though, it would be the feedback loop for incorrectly played notes. If you're going fast enough, you don't even know--there needs be a better way to inform the user of an error. An accuracy rating at the end is easy to add, given that the scores are relatively meaningless (I'm sure accuracy is part of the algorithm, but we don't know what that is). I have a few ideas for other features, but Google doesn't give us enough space!
Excellent way to track and practice your sight-reading skill. I would suggest that the author add two features, perhaps in a paid version. 1. Show the next several notes so I can practice reading ahead with a steady pace. 2. (after implementing 1) Could I have an option to enforce tempo? (track percent of time on correct note) Teachers suggest that if you miss a note not to correct it, because tempo/rhythm is most important. 3. An option to produce harmonious random melodies in a set key signature.
This app is so easy to use. It drills and auto corrects me. And free! Better than the piano note apps that charge!
Only problem is the screen keeps going dark when playing
Simple yet efficient!
But it will be great if you could have exercises in a whole sheet style with time signatures etc. And two hands together if you can. But its still great!! Ill keep the ads on for you.
Most useful application for sight reading! Hope that developer could add midi files feature.
Great little app that does what it says. Tried it with other instruments including voice and it worked. Would happily have paid for this app. Thanks

If this were landscape, and could have notes scrolling across the screen, rather than one note at a time, it would be really good. As it is, it's a little tedious.
