Messenger for Android™

I downloaded it but when I select someone to text there is no keyboard or mic to text or talk text just a blank window with messenger at the top and a plus circle at the bottom to add people. I click it and it takes me to my contacts. I then select my contact and it takes me back to messenger with the no way to send a message window. So what good is it if it dosen't allow me a way to type or talk a message to send.

I've tried logging into both of my fb accounts and my son's account but always says authentication failed!! I double checked... And then triple checked each password and I'm entering them all correctly!! So why won't it connect??? ???? ????

It's a lot faster and smoother than most messaging apps. My only concern is when in try to connect it to Facebook, I get an authentication error. If anyone knows how to fix this, let me know please. Thank you, nice app.

Have to leave such a nice app with an intrusive, clean interface. where u missed dev is on an important feature, where u r unable to directly forward the message. Most important one should be able to view message details as sent time and receive. thanks for such a nice app .

All I wanted was an app that lets me use SMS withou5 ugly, gimmicky things, some freedom (I use Linux and Android for a reason) and isn't borderline bloatwere. It isn't missing a thing. It is all it should be.

This is in my opinion a tie for 1st place in the category of messenger apps. If there were more options for advanced users it would bring this application way above anything else in existence. I think a menu area to open some technical and advanced options would be amazing! Tech geeks and Android lovers who love custom ROMS/kernels/recoveries etc would value some more technical options. At this moment I do consider this the best free messaging application. It is highly smooth and responsive! I'd just love some of the options available in the other more geeky apps.

No "disregard" option

Such a big help! Lessens the stress of having to change apps only problem is it keeps saying authentication failed every time I try to sign into Facebook!

i downloaded this app so that i could get rid of messenger but i can't log in my Facebook account. useless.

Very nice fast smooth and functional .however i did find one small funky bug. When i send attachments sometimes they dont show up when sending and when they do it has a blank white bar the bottom of attachment. Could i please ask for a reponce so i could show you a snaphot of it. Thank you so much????

Its easy to use. Most of the free apps are heavily burdened by adds. I like it bcz it's free and add free too.

Should be 5 stars but when I connect my fb account it says authentication failed. Why is that so?

Partially works. Two way chat works with friends only. Reply to guests is not possible. Maybe a limitation of free version…

Does not connect to Facebook. Could be a great app if it did. Lots of people commented saying it doesn't connect. Why not Fix?

Extremely useful add to my phone. You don't need Facebook messenger downloaded for the app to work. Very few buy in the system. But they do not affect any data transfer to other accounts. Now with that being said, disconnect your Facebook link first because it will try an sign in every second an lock your Facebook sign in.

It has said "unfortunately messenger for Android has stopped working" 5 times since I downloaded it at around 9 this morning. Plz fix that! All-in-all I really like it just not the stopping especially when I'm sending an important message and its a good length.

There are a few drawbacks however. I wish it was possible to have contacts merged between SMS and hangouts. That is, have only one contact for both SMS and gtalk. Also, to have a list of (10 or so) most used contacts to speed up the creation of new text messages.

I have already read and replied to the sms via this messenger, but as per default messaging app, I still have several unread messages. This is kinda annoying esp to those with units who cannot hide the default messaging app. Please have the option to auto-capitalize on your app too. I kept tapping on the uppercase letter every new sentence, which should be automatic already. Using huawei g7 here. Thanks!

I love everything about the app except for the emojis. They are pretty cool looking but when I send one to my mates, it sends a link or some other thing to the emoji. If you fix that I will rate it 5 stars and share it with all my mates.

I'm subtracting 1 star for having emojis which are not supported in many cases and/or look materially different in other cases and also the UX for accessing those emojis being not very good. I'm subtracting 1 star for pestering me to rate the thing which is also, realistically, a UX complaint.

I enjoy a different messenger protocol but sometimes it had problems sending messages and sending pictures. It would be nice if it could auto download multimedia photos automatically so that I don't gaff to airways do it manually. Facebook messenger allows for that

It nice but due to few issue below I unable say it best & set my default messenger. 1) unable to login to facebook (authentication issue) 2) xmpp username not shown (unable to identify sender name) 3) unable use from contact directly 4) need context menu item & multi selection.

All other accounts seem to work great! Facebook not. Also unable to switch off SMS. Uninstalled app - battery drainer even in background. As soon as uninstalled, battery stats promised another 4 hours of battery life. Would love to have this app back, but only if its not as hungry.

This would be my go to messaging app, but it seems misssing some basic features like forwarding, and being able click on a message, and see who's all included in a group text, etc. Not to mention, it misses some messages!

Seems like a great app, SMS and MMS work great, haven't seen anything off Hangouts yet, but I can't get it to log into FB Messenger. Says authentication fails.

Settings are NOT good! No options for notifications. you just can change the colour of everything. Not anything else.

Needs more customization options and basic features like seeing who sent a message in a group chat. Also, the emoji bar looks horrible

I liked it. So far so good...My hangouts updated and erased all my messages so I downloaded this app, and it has made me pretty happy so far.

I see a very promising concept in this app, the developer can turn this app into a complete and full fucntional android hub that integrate all android messaging apps such as ymail, gmail, facebook, twitter, whatssap, sms, mms etc. Just like blackberry hub. I believe users will be patiently glad to wait and assist to achieve this. But for now few changes could make it great to go with such as option for notification tone selection for individual apps and indication for sent, delivered and seen messages.

Why does every single keyboard/messaging app not have an option to disable emojis? It's a waste of performance for people who don't use them

I like it for receiving and replying, but sending new messages takes more steps than other apps. Also, please add the option to see a full time stamp. If a message arrived yesterday, was it 10am or 7pm? App doesn't say.

It never says delivered on any messages. On a regular basis it just stops working. It hardly ever downloads MMS messages right.

Says authentication failed when I try to log in to my Facebook. If you have to have the messenger app too then this app has no purpose. And if you can't log in then you cant use it for its intended purpose!

notification settings pls. and stability issues. it force closes quite often

This app is wanting in the worst way. It's really not worth the effort downloading. I'd rather pay for an actual app than using this again. Honestly.

I have tried multiple times to link my Facebook account, which is the primary reason I downloaded this app. Is there some way I can get some assistance with this?

Only down side it's not compatible with all phones. My friends with a Samsung does not clear see my text.

Love this app instead of the plan and boring standard texting on iPhone. Just learned colors can be changed. GOOD JOB TEAM!
