Samba Network Music Player for Android
Couldn't get it to work. It sees my folders on PC with audio files but when I try to open them it says "Protected Folder" and asks for username and password. And I don't know what these should be. Ok, so now I've managed to solve this. The problem was with my pc. It works flawlesssly
Great player. I'm unable to get it to save logon credentials for network devices. Not sure if that's an app limitation or if I'm doing something wrong. Other than that, it's golden!
Feel bad giving it a 2.0. It Can find network folders easily enough but, just like vlc, you can't have it shuffle play songs in subfolders. So if you have a music folder that contains folders for each album or artist it isn't very useful. May improve in future though.
I'm usually pretty good with figuring out software and apps, but I can't find any way on this one to do the only thing I want to do, which is shuffle play all of the songs in my music folder. I've connected to my pc over the LAN, I've found and scanned my music folder, but now I can't find any button, menu, or control that lets me tell the app to play my entire music folder randomly. Or to add only certain subfolders (I have it all in subfolders by artist and, inside of those, by album) to a playlist. The only activity that is obvious and clear is to navigate to an individual album and start playing a specific track. How do I choose, say, five artists and play random tracks from them? I don't even need the app to recognize the track tags to do this, I just need it to allow me to add chosen subfolders to a playlist. And how to do that is not at all obvious, nor do I see any instructions.
Just what I needed - a basic app to stream LAN music to the garage stereo from the PC in the house. I've had no problems. The browsing screen is a bit sensitive and might scroll too fast if you touch the side bar by accident. Thanks for the awesome but yet simple app!
Kinda works most of the time, but sometimes will just crash for no obvious reason. On the plus side, pretty straightforward to set up and browse network drives and then add music to the playlist.
OK app. Got it working easy enough, but can't sort music by artist, genre, etc. With 10k or more songs it sure would be great to more easily find what you want and listen to.
App works well supports music formats I use playlist good future features that would be nice 1, album art on flac files 2, ability to save multiple playlists 3, DSD hi res support 4, Gappless playback for Flac files when playing full albums
Might be nice with good instructions. Can't seem to link to my networked PC properly, unless I want to play one song at a time.
good application. just have some problems to navigate forward and backward in the playing song
Good and fast. Slight improvements in navigating between browsing sources and playing/playlist screens are needed but the app keeps improving with every release.
The only one that works flawlessly with my setup. I have my files on D-Link Nas. It plays music in the background with no interruptions while I switch tasks. This is exactly what I look for.
It has a sharp learning curve, but once I figured it out, it works quite well. My music library is on a FreeNas server, and they get along most of the time.
Works like a charm, could do with a cast to device button, but there is easy workarounds. Thank you for the fantastic application.
I m unable to cast audio to Chromecast audio device...This feature is lacking in this app
The only music player app I've found that connects reliably and quickly to my personal external cloud network storage device. Thank you!
crap app It will not connect to my computer I tried it several times also very confusing to connect, no installation info to be found or easily found
Cannot play entire folder, only one at a time.
Nicest app for music using smb file shares, I'd give it 5 stars if I could figure out how to increase the cache size
Playing music on my old Denon receiver by connecting it to a Chromecast Audio that is receiving the data from my Asus Zenfone 3 (see option PLAY TO in its WIFI menus if you also have one and didn't notice) and managing the playlist using Samba Network Music Player, which collects the FLAC files from a usb hard disk that is connected to my internet router (manually set 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 if not found automatically as music sources) is simply a dream come true. THANKS TO ALL THE PEOPLE INVOLVED.
It is very good with a synology nas but wish it saved login credentials it is very quick at finding songs and putting them alphabetical order which was what I was after
Brilliant app. Found my WD Cloud immediately. Catalogued over 2k tracks in seconds. Playback is super smooth and changing tracks or scrubbing is immediate. Very happy with it.
Too rudimentary a network media app.
Would like to delete items from cache without deleting entire cache. Would like to use device back button when browsing. Would like to save shortcuts in sources. Otherwise its perfect.
Can I have multiple playlists? Cant find that feature yet. Works well with my Seagate NAS server.
My problem was solved. Does what it says.
Found my NAS straight away. Would be good if it had a crossfade function as there is a gap between songs.
It's great the only issue is the network, is not steady for continously playing
found my network files but couldn't play them :(
lets you stream from a local network
I can't save several playlists
I wish I can create multiple Playlist, enable timer, and add widget
Awesome app. Works great to access music from nas storage!
OK when it works.
Brilliant! Works like a charm with CentOS 7
If share features available will be perfect
Good app. Support of .m3u or .pls would be a great addition.
Fullfils my requirement. Good stable app.
Does what it says, simply.

Network folder browsing needs two things. The phone's back button should be like the up arrow because it makes you have to log back into the network computer every time you accidentally use it like on other apps. That is a pain. Second, I want to be able to add a folder and let it locate all the music. Currently, I have to open each and every folder to select music and a lot of my music is saved in artist folders. What a pain.
