About Ski Tracker by 30 South
Ski Tracker is a GPS based tracking app for people who want to keep track of their ski and snowboard runs.
STATS AND MAPS
Ski Tracker tracks speed, distance, altitude, vert, and time. It also gives you a map showing where you have been while you are saving a run.
GRAPHS
See graph of altitude vs. distance showing you all the vertical you got on your last track.
COLOR CODED
When viewing saved tracks your route shows up on the map color coded by speed. It shows where you went the fastest (red) and where you were slowest (blue).
VOICE SUMMARY
Don't want to look at the screen every few minutes? You can have Ski Tracker tell you updates on your progress either every mile or every five minutes.
PAUSE AND RESUME
Pause the workout to catch your breath or chat with a friend and then resume when you get back to skiing or snowboarding.
LARGE DISPLAY
You can easily see your stats in real time with your current speed being the focal point. (Though I wouldn't recommend checking it out much in real time :-))
UNITS
App supports both standard and metric units for tracking speed, distance and vert drop.

Downloaded this last year and the free version was great to clock max speed on the slopes. This year I open the app and cannot hit record without recieving the message "UPGRADE TO THE PRO VERSION". Very annoying, its a real shame the simplest features are no longer free..

Used it for the first time today. It records the data very accurately, but is weak in reporting: shows vertical only for the last run. There is no way to reset max speed without terminating the session. I am looking for something better.

Because of this "feature" I lost the tracking in few days. This app came last in my ski tracking apps (after many free apps). Coloring tracks based on speed feature is the only nice thing on this app.

No where near as capable as Ski Track and it costs more. Specifically: It doesn't accumulate vertical, it just shows the largest one. It doesn't save even a one-day history, so if you take/make a call your data is gone, and you have to restart the application. It doesn't automatically go to screen saver mode so if you are not careful you'll end up with a dead phone.

Seems to work but is not consistent with my friends iPhone tracker. There is not total vertical feet skied and no way I found to upload results from a day skiing. After buying this app and using it for a day I uninstalled and found a better app.
