About The Voting App - Represent! SA

This application has been developed by a small team of folks who care about having an informed electorate who shows up to the polls for all of their elections. We're working hard to bring our democracy into the 21st Century. And BTW, this is NOT a data mining app. We don't collect data. Your usage is private. We're the real deal folks and we're in it for all of us.

Represent!SA Edition:

THIS NEW VERSION IS FIRST SERVING ONLY RESIDENTS OF BEXAR COUNTY FOR THE SAN ANTONIO MUNICIPAL ELECTION. IF YOU LIVE WITHIN BEXAR COUNTY, AND YOU HAVE ANY TROUBLE SEEING YOUR BALLOT ITEMS IN THE VOTING APP, PLEASE CONTACT US AT SUPPORT@THINKVOTING.COM. We will offer support for more municipalities in the coming months.

NEW THIS EDITION:
- Voter Registration: The Voting App now offers a slick voter registration tool. You can scan the back of any Texas ID to automatically fill out a voter registration card, or manually simply fill it out. The App will email the completed form and all you need to do is sign and mail it in.
- Video Voters Guide: Stay tuned for a brand new type of Voters Guide! The Voting App will feature short videos on each of the Candidates, allowing a deeper level of access than ever before.
- Push Notifications: We have revamped the push notification to tailor them to your specific election. Getting informed has never been easier.
- Much more.

This election, we partnered with the League of Women Voters and MOVE SA to deliver their Voters Guide information for all candidates and referendums in the San Antonio Election. This application is the official app of Represent!SA, a non-partisan coalition of all of the best civic organizations across San Antonio working together with one goal, to DOUBLE VOTER TURNOUT this election. The Represent!SA Edition is endorsed by organizations such as the LWV, NAACP, NALEO, MOVE SA, SA2020, UTSA Center for Civic Engagement, and dozens of others.

HOW TO USE IT:
Simply enter your home address and tap "Let's Go" and you will be delivered the most comprehensive assembly of information on candidates and propositions on YOUR ballot for any election you are eligible to vote.

The Voting App will provide the Who, What, When, Where, How and Why of your election and items on your ballot. From comparing candidate on their positions on issues to evaluating pros and cons of propositions, bonds & measures, The Voting App will remind you on election days and guide you to the nearest polling place.

Together with the League of Women Voters and many other Civic Organizations. The Voting App is delivering the League of Women Voters Voter’s Guide, along with MOVE SA Voter’s Guide. These publications are a vital tool for those seeking non-partisan information on candidates and propositions. As more organizations come online in this collaborative effort, we hope to display the information that they work so hard to obtain.

Explore and select your candidates and decide upon bonds, measures & amendments. Make your ballot selections and share as an email to yourself so that you may print out your selections and easily navigate the your ballot in the polling booth.

It's new, and it's still developing. We expect several updates to remedy some of that newness, so please visit our support page and let us know what you find. We are steadfastly looking to improve informed voter turnout, and this app is the first step. More to come, so please download, use, and vote confidently.

I was so excited. Heard about the app on the radio. Its probably the worst one I've downloaded. Super slow. Could barely type in address in 2 minutes and it didn't find my address or ballot. Definitely disappointed. Hope next election cycle it's upgraded.

I've used this app before for the Houston mayoral elections and referenced it to other people but I've downloaded it multiple times and checked my settings and it can't find my address!?

R70%
by R####:

The app constructs your specific ballot and nearest polling place, with maps and driving instructions. Pros and Con's of propositions, and candidate positions taken from nonpartisan League of Women Voters, which I use anyway. User interface for filling out your ballot is excellent. When done, mail it to yourself and take it into the voting booth. FAQ's and other voter data from LWV or the County Clerk. Only minor complaints: no settings, and no way to easily vote straight party ticket.

R70%
by R####:

When I tried to register and I entered my address, I got an error about an expired certificate. Uninstalled. It's a shame because this looks like a great app. FIX IT!!!!

This version of The Voting App serves Texas Voters better than any voting information app out there. It's the tip of the iceberg of what to expect from ThinkVoting. Special thanks go out to the Texas League of Women Voters, the Houston League of Women Voters, Travis and Nueces County Elections Offices.

This is so much better than going to the polls and being blindsided by those minor offices that slip through the cracks. I was able to research the candidates that I wasn't familiar with and come to an informed decision and even found one that I'm really proud to vote for (as opposed to some that were best of the lot). Keep up the good work and I hope to see this in future elections!

Q70%
by Q####:

The app should have the ballot listed in the "official" order and should also output in that order. It could be confusing for some people to have to search up and down the ballot to match their selections. Some precincts are divided between multiple jurisdictions, and this app doesn't seem to get this...I live in a precinct split between Austin ISD and another district, I was given the AISD candidates while I live in the other district. A lot of promise for a first try, though, and hopefully future iterations will get even better.

Q70%
by Q####:

Cool premise, and the app works fine. Too bad it thinks my address is in Travis County instead of Williamson.

Q70%
by Q####:

Maybe they're overloaded because of election day? I just get a message: "Access to your ballot information is currently unavailable. Please try again later or check your internet connection." Also, the location input is too picky. My auto-complete put a space after the city and that caused an error.
