Lists for Writers

Amazing! Thanks SO much for what you have done. Although, if we, who write and make stuff up could put in our terms, words and add in the descriptions, this would truly then be a gem. However, it is still a great help.

I know you have to pay, but it is SO worth it! This is an amazing app that needs way more love.

This is a great resource for writers. Sometimes I just need a quick idea for a character name and this list delivers. Scrolling through ignites creative juices too. Well done.

It has many categories and lots of helpful words & names. I'm sure many more could be added, but what bothers me is you can't add in your own stuff. If you make it possible to add in your own things then I would rate 5.

I have thought over on buying this application. After reading reviews, I was hesitant, but got it anyways. I think this will certainly help with future projects and characters! However, I can agree with the reviewers. This tool needs more descriptions and there needs to be an option on adding things to certain lists. It certainly is handy, but I hope it shall be improved.

Actually, I lied about not having any complaints. I do have one complaint, and here it is - there are too few apps like this one!

List items aren't explained enough, they need an actual description that you can go into. Also, a resource for users to create and share their own lists through the app would be useful.

Needs definitions of more words and meanings of names put in. I hope as this app develops further it will get into deeper descriptions.

Good but even more info would be nice too. I agree with some of the other commenters that it would be great to be able to add to existing lists and create our own lists as well:)

This is a much needed app it does need more descriptions. I wanted it to be great. When you go into descriptive words and a couple of others you just see a small list which another review suggested putting a way other people can add to the list, that would be wonderful because the lists would constantly be growing.

It's very useful, incredibly informative. Especially with the new update. I agree with others, it'd be nice to be able to add/edit content. Another couple of things I think would be beneficial would be lists of diseases/illnesses/birth defects/injuries/causes of death/medical anomalies/general medical/surgical terms, as well as a list for criminal activities/terms like B&E or arson, bootlegging, corporate espionage etc. Come to think of it, a list devoted to espionage and spy gadgets could be great too.

Thank you for this awesome app! It's super detailed and comprehensive. I do want to echo other's thoughts of being able to add to the list. If user edits are not possible, which I totally understand, can there be a way to suggest words to be added to the list? Maybe a form to send in with a word that could be approved? Also, I would be super super grateful if you could add an RNG (random number generator) to the app for those of us who really like to shake things up and see what happens. Thanks!

It however could be better. I wish that I could add my own things to the lists. I also wish that if you selected something it would give you a definition, synonym or example (preferably in the app itself instead of say it googling it for you and opening in another page). A third thing that I would enjoy is being able to make and edit my own list.

Cool app for when writers block sets in - especially for smaller characters

There are only 7 plots and 30-something twists available. This app helps guide you through the writing process, listing the six plots and which twists work well in which situations. A very good tool for getting your stories out of seemingly dead ends.

Why aren't there more apps like this? Make it open to contributors and it'd be near-perfect.

So helpful! The only thing I wish you could do is tap on one of the categories and then tap on what specific thing and get more information.(ex. Name-Name definition, Mythical Creature-Information on that creature)

This is a great app it allows me to keep track of everything as I am writing so that there are not mistakes with the details of the story.

Please add the ability to select any word and get a definition, different forms of the word and an example using the word. For example, selecting a word from a book you are reading will open a dialog that has this info. Great lists though.

Nexus 7 As a screenwriter / novelist, I love this ap! I actually went looking, hoping someone had done this. Action verbs was a nice touch. Love the list of occupations. I know that will get used a lot, as it's often the first choice made for a character. I do think there should be a much longer list of character traits and hobbies. Please consider expanding. Same with the rhyming words. If you're going to have it, please make it more exhaustive. But this is still 5 star in my book. It's a great substitute for when I can't have the book The Writer's Partner by my side.

As a homeschool mom, I love this! Everyday my kids start the school day with journaling. This makes writing prompts a snap! I just wish there was a way to save. Awesome app. Best $2 I've spent all year!

For under £2, this app is worth it. For any writer who is serious about making, a student or just a hobby; whatever reason for writing, this app is helpful. Not only does it give a list of useful words; it gives female and male names, city names and what countries and more. This app is a good starting point for writer's block or ideas, it doesn't give extensive details of names/words so extra research is needed.

If what I want isn't in their list I can't just write it in. I want to create not settle for what they suggest.
