Hexboard is a musical application specifically designed to be easy to play on touch screens. It features a unique synthesizer, with a unique layout. Every key on the Hexboard is a hexagon, with the board arranged so that you may easily move from one note to the next while creating wonderful music.

It sounds like the worst synth ever designed. It probably is. No options for customization. Why do all these isomorphic keyboards sound so terrible? Its frustrating and it hurts the chances of a growing hex community.

At first I was skeptical. Then I start just discovering scales and chords in patterns. I put on a college radio live stream, wsum 91.7 the snake on the lake, and was able to jam in my headphones. Simple yet effective sound settings give me enough to get a sound that works. I like the color hints to help orient, it makes finding patterns easier. After twenty minutes of playing around trying to play along with music it starts making sense.
