About THE SWORD
The sword is a kind of sharp weapon that has long blades. The sword can have two sharp edges or just one sharp side only. In some cultures, when compared to other weapons, swords usually have more or higher prestige.
Sword blades are usually made of hard metals such as iron or steel. Although there is a sword of gold, it is used only as decoration only. For practice, usually wooden swords are used, although hard wooden swords are still dangerous. Gun-like weapons and spears using obsidian blades are used by native Central American and South American tribes who at the time of European colonization were not familiar with metals
Humans have made and used swords from the Bronze era. A sword developed from a dagger when sword making becomes possible, about 2 millennia BC. The sword is over 1.5 meters in size and very unusual and unused during bronze times because of its length reducing the effectiveness of bronze. Not until the metal is stronger like steel, making long swords used in combat. Khopes which are only 50 to 60 cm in size are made of bronze as well.
