StepUp Pedometer Step Tracker for Android
Not sure just how accurate it is in counting steps but it definitely helps to keep me motivated. Update 8/10/17 - app has been working great till today. Just came back from a 2-2.5 mile walk and it still has the step and calorie count from this morning. A real bummer. I was looking foreard to seeing me hit my goal in steps tonight :(
It's a nice app, motivated me to work 10k steps daily as a commitment. Few drawbacks, 1.app doesn't work unless you open it once in a day to start counting steps when the net is on. 2. App gets struck or stop counting steps when multiple e-commerce sites open while walking
Ride road bikes worked well on Apple platform, just got android phone does work when I ride my bike. I always have phone in my short pockets so it moves as I peddle. Stopped using now using A grave!
A superb free pedometer. Very useful and accurate tracker. I am training for a long walk (approx 20km per day for 4 weeks) and am loving Step up as a trainer. I like comparing myself to Active Bot and Lazy Bot each day as well.
Fun app to keep up steps against your friends. We use it with my work team. Sometimes its out from my phone step counter but i don't mind the days when its more ???? only happens occasionally so all good.
Good free app, and a good motivational technique. Could provide slightly more information though on certain aspects. Was enjoying this but, just recently it keeps cutting out and not tracing steps. Gets frustrating!!
This app is good but, it seems to freeze and just stops counting steps. I've only used this app for a day and I've already had some problems. I don't know what's wrong with it.
I work in retail and walk round a busy shop floor all day. Didn't realise just how far I walked anywhere between 12-14 miles a day ????
This is a great app - simple, clean and does exactly what it promises to do. Definitely motivates me to add extra steps to my day. The live notifications are a smart feature and it's fun tracking your rank among friends (if you're lazier than lazy bot, that's saying something!)
It's nice when it works. Of late it just stopped recording. Even with the phone in my pocket almost all time, I have on record 2 days with 0 steps and 1 day with 9...
Biggest plus : No ads, no purchase reminders. It is simple and consumes less battery. Steps are updated after few tens of seconds and hence the reason for battery savings ... Step counting is accurate. Display can be improved to show monthly progress as well. Something like bar chart would be very useful for comparison across days. Calories shown are active calories. Overall I am very satisfied and happy.
Simple, clean app, does what is supposed to do. Count is not that different from other apps I tried. I like the leaderboard with active and lazy bots, haven't tried the friends action. I now use this daily.
Not sure why it doesn't update step count instantly, maybe because the app is syncing to bots/friends? I'm am a bit sceptical of the step count, but otherwise the app is doing an ok job of giving motivation
StepUp is a nice, lightweight app for keeping track of your steps and friendly competition with friends. It does suffer from any inaccuracies with the built-in step tracker. Overall, pretty good.
It's helping me be more active. I love seeing the confetti fall when I reach my daily step goal. I especially love keeping up with or winning over "Fit Bot" and hate it if my steps are closer in number to those of Lazy Bot.
Good app. But not every time does it read steps. It missed out on several occasions. Not sure if my phone is at fault, or the app. But still, a success on some occasions. So, a 4.
Lots of fun if you got people to compete with. Love the taunt and challenge. Motivation for keeping you going. As long as phone is with you and turned on it keeps track without needing the app on....
This app works when it wants to i just done a 3 mile walk with my dog and made sure my mobile data was on before setting off, the walk has not registered at all? So for this reason im deleting this app i want one that works every time not this temperamental work sometimes app.
At first it was good but it's not counting all my steps. Almost every day I'm about 100 away from my goal and it stops working.
It is a good app. It will never be 100% accurate but no app like this will ever be. I chose this app so I would not be bombarded with advertisements and I'm not
Its inaccurate, i daily walk almost 2miles at work and later when i open the app n see there are 0 steps recorded.
It counts steps and keeps a tally of calories too. If you use a trekking pole, it will over count. That's not the app's fault, but it's far from unusual to use a trekking pole. Also, the calories are completely misleading whilst hill walking which is coincidentally trekking pole terrain. In the app, it should say "fewer" rather than "less" in relation to steps.
Enjoying the app. However does't account for when I do aqua fit!!!! So show as lazy bot but have done more exercise.
LOATHE it. Why does this POS app just stop recording steps???? It is worthless worthless worthless worthless worthless. If I could rate it in negative digits I would.
It motivates me tō walk. Yup its not perfect, it does lag at times. But the proof is in the pudding in the end.
is not accurate my fit bit is more accurate than this app. I walk a minimum of 7,000 steps a day and this app doesn't even come close.
It's keeping me motivated for sure. The confetti fall is something I look forward to! Early days still.. I am satisfied with it's count, it may not be totally accurate, but quite nearly so.
My friends and i downloaded this app and connected with facebook, but we cant see each others names or leaderboards. Either were doing something wrong or ???? Please help ☺
It doesn not calculate all step and the calorie count greatly different from other steps-Apps.
Works great to challenge your friends. I like that there are no annoying ads.
Only complaint is that it requires a Facebook account. Would be nice to link by email so can do it with friends and family who do not have Facebook or are not Facebook friends.
Well if its working I'm on target but my phone also came with a counting steps app but thats third of what step up gives me! :( so don't know which one believe
Walked more than 1700 steps and the app says 639?! Tried it for 5 days now. In my bag, in my hand, on my hip. ALWAYS inaccurate. Useless tool that I would rate for zero if it was technically possible.
I downloaded this app and before I had moved it had gone up 40 steps... Very dubious as to how accurate it is so about to delete
Does not track steps accurate, you walk 50 feet, and steps shows 3 feet walked, not good for me
It was good at first. But the movements I was making was slowly being tally and slow responses
Keeps freezing, & not registering steps, all day. Waste of time. Ran 6 flights up, no change.
The app isn't accurate....I walk and look down at it and see it literally frozen on the same steps and not counting my steps as I walk...we are using it for a challenge at my job but what's the point when it counts less steps than my fitness watch and every other step app on my phone....fix it please!!!
I have been using this app for some time. I think (hope) it's accurate, but I'm not sure. It encourages me and helps me to increase my steps so that's good. There was one day that I'm pretty sure it measured high.

No ads is great. Friends and I compare steps. it works consistently. Eight other apps didn't work on my phone only this one , that's wonderful. Please keep it as free, I prefer to pay. How to change step length? My only request, VARIABLE STEP LENGTH, now it's set at 80cm per step, I take off 10% for myself and 25% for my wife and that's about right distance. Friends don't update until they look at the app.
