The Olympian- Olympia WA news for Android
I like the app. An ad free version and would be nice.
If i could give it zero stars i would. Shouldnt need to create an account (just to receive loads of ads) and log in for one or two news items a day. Not called locally 'the daily zero' locally without good reason.
Not updated as fast as I would like but overall a quality app.
Takes time to become familiar with the app. but, print ver. is just like reading the paper in hardcopy.
Big fan of quick and free news. Ads are part of the game.
Works great.
Pay wall is ridiculous
Very good
Sets of antivirus alarm. No change log! Changes are big secret! Contains Push Advertising!!! Run!!!!
Not very recent news most days, but ok.
Each update brings it closer to being a first class app
Well, there is news but it is old. There are new articles under old ones. Why is this not like the iPad app? Update: Thanks for fixing the date order, now the newest news is above the old news. There still isn't all the news as the print version. No letters to the editor, no comics, no Classified, missing stories. The iPad app is 5+ stars, it is complete and accurate. Why no Android version similar? Update: there has been a lot of improvements this summer and now a tablet version like the iPad. Nice job.

Worth a glance at times not worth paying for though poor writing/editing
Simple and effective. There seems to be a limit to how many views you get without a paid subscription though.
Fun & Informative.
The Olympian
You can only view s few stories snd then become paying subscriber. Additionally, the "news" is often several days old.
I shouldn't have to provide a used name and password to read news. Uninstalling.
Uninstall
Get with the 21st Century! Uninstalling until I don't need a subscription for news I can get free elsewhere.
Just no effort put into this. Sad. Really sad.
Guess I'll delete after this latest update. TNT app also. Why whenever I open the app store I get a popup saying the Olympian has stopped. I wasn't even running it. Same with TNT app.
You get to install the app for free but after a day or two they block you unless you start paying ! What bull$%@t.... you can uninstall it though and redo it until it does it again
Force closed every time app is open
Requires a subscription to read the article. There are better sources for the news.

This was a free site. Not going to pay for it. I can get my news elsewhere.
No. I've had this app for a long time and never needed a subscription. Now I do. I understand maybe you need to make more money but paying for something that has too many spelling errors is bs
This app is clunky and awkward to use. The m.olympian web page is better and more user friendly way to access the Olympian via a smart phone.
Why the update? What are we installing now???
Doesnt give u much of a choice i we want the fishing blog alot of people would download it then
This app crashes every time I update any other app. Permanently uninstalled. Developer seems to have ignored all reports filed. Can get the news I need from The Seattle Times or The Columbian without the hassles.

Requires the Google news app, which I removed after root. Should not require something like that just to push stories.
A recent update has done much to improve stability in an app that used to crash a lot. I give it one more star, for that improvement. Update now includes no search capability, whatsoever. In this day and age, I consider that to be a fatal flaw. It's further evidence McClatchy has abandoned Olympia's newspaper and advertisers. A lousy mobile app is just newspaper suicide. Update: Back to 1 star. I subscribe to the newspaper. The app requested login credentials, which I provided. But it stalls at "loading".
Unusual dependencies Requires the Google news app, which I removed after root. Should not require something like that just to push stories.
Crashed repeatedly Do yourself a favor: read the Olympian on its mobile web site. This application repeatedly stopped working. For as long as it was installed in my Nexus 7 I got an error whenever I booted my device or just woke it up. I got error messages even when I didn't know the app was even running. Really, this paper isn't good enough to merit the kind of grief this application caused, on my tablet.

It is nice to read about the top stories in town and be able to watch videos when available. Being able to see whats being talked about is always nice.
