THE MOSQUE (MASJID)

The mosque or mosque is a place of worship for Muslims or Muslims. Mosque means place of prostration, and another name for mosque in Indonesia is musholla, langgar or surau. The term is intended for mosques that are not used for Friday prayers, and are generally small in size. Besides being used as a place of worship, the mosque is also the center of Muslim community life. The activities of big day celebrations, discussions, religious studies, lectures and learning of the Qur'an are often carried out in mosques. Even in the history of Islam, the mosque also plays a role in social activities to the military

History
The towers, as well as the vast dome of the mosque, seemed to be a testament to how prosperous Islam was in the middle ages. The mosque has gone through a series of the longest years in history until now. Starting from Crusade to Gulf War. For more than 1000 years too, the architecture of the mosque slowly began to adjust the mosque building with modern architecture.

The first mosque
When the Prophet Muhammad came to Medina, he decided to build a mosque, now known as the Nabawi Mosque, which means the Prophet's Mosque. The Nabawi Mosque is located in the center of Medina. The Nabawi Mosque was built in a large field. In Masjid Nabawi, there is also a pulpit that is often used by the Prophet Muhammad [1]. Nabawi Mosque became the heart of Medina at that time. The mosque is used for political activities, urban planning, determining military strategy, and to enter into agreements. In fact, in the area around the mosque is used as a temporary residence by the poor people.
