Having the Shop GMO-Free in the UK app at your fingertips is the no hassle way to discover which foods are guaranteed by their manufacturers to be free from primary GMO ingredients and free from secondary products (that is, ingredients derived from animals that were fed on GMO feed).
As well as helping you avoid GM products, this app can assist you in doing your bit to help rid the UK of GMO. Not only does the app enable you to contact the manufacturers of these products directly, it also includes a number of social media features that enable you to exert additional public pressure on these companies - all at the touch of a button.
The basic app is free and includes these features:
Unlimited searches - Unrestricted searching of our product database (over 13,000 products) to instantly find which products are GM-free and which are not.
Tell the manufacturer - Conveniently let the food manufacturer know what you think about the GM status of their products. You're just a tap away from contacting them by telephone, email or via their own contact page.
Tell the world - Share with the world the GM status of any product. Via facebook, twitter, google+, whatsapp, SMS or email, you can conveniently show friends about which products to stay away from and which are safe.
Tell us - Get in touch with us via the app with any product data queries/requests, technical issues or new feature requests.
Shopping list - Compile a shopping list of your favourite products. (One shopping list, limited to 15 products.)

The information in this app was compiled from correspondence between us and food manufacturers/supermarkets about the status of their products, in terms of whether they contain direct GM ingredients and/or ingredients derived from animals that were fed on GM feed.
By EU law, food producers are only required to list when direct GM ingredients are present in their foods. However, no such labelling is required for animal products used within food production where the animals were fed on GM feed.

Thanks to the developer - I love that there is a UK based app for checking GM status. It's easy to use and with a decent amount of information. I'm dismayed at the number of food items I expected contained all organic ingredients that actually do not- that's vital information. It also has GM News with links - brilliant!! I think I'll find it indispensable.

The app shows adverts every few seconds, and it then resets your view, meaning it's impossible to scroll past 3 products at all. Very annoying, I'll update review when it's fixed
