Rory's Story Cubes for Android
Superb. I was originally after a dice/board game but I had no idea what to get. I then stumbled across this gem of a game. Having purchased the original physical version I have now purchased every version for this app. As a writer I think it's wonderful. As a parent my children love it too. Beautiful Game.
I love this game. I bought the actual cubes and a couple of the add-on sets for my nephews, but I find it a really great exercise to get the cogs turning again when I have writer's block. I'm the reviews, some people are giving it a low score just because it isn't free, and I don't think that's fair. Even buying a bunch of extras is still way less than getting the actual dice but you don't have to worry about losing them or carrying them with you. Great work!
How come it doesn't support it??? Will you make it work or is it a money ripoff?!?! I have the cubes that,s why I wanted the app,pls help!!!!
When I start the application only appears a black screen. My device is a Samsung Galaxy S3 mini. Please if you could help me. Thanks!
It is very good and I was nagging my mum and dad about it but when I got it only about one or two of them were free the rest cost money Trust me do not get this application.
Great story cubes. Better than all the others I have tried.
Easy fast and fun.
Brilliant for keeping my nephews occupied on long journeys. My only question is, when are the new dice going to be available, as they've been in the shops for a while now. Note, for Philip Dopichaj, to select fewer dice, open up the dice selection menu. There's a slide rule along the top, just slide to the left for fewer dice.
Works well; it would be nice to be able to select fewer than 9 dice, though.
Used to work with no hassle. Since latest update I can find no way to quit from the app without killing all tasks...
Would happily change rating if I could use the content I paid for.
Fantastic app that used to have one tiny, insignificant, barely-worth-mentioning, drawback - the range of dice hasn't kept up with the dice available. That's now no longer the case. In fact I was able to get the most recent releases through the app first. Excellent.
Best game for kids that can't read
Used to like the app' - great for homework inspiration. But serious problems with new version. After dozens of presses _some_ of the menu items respond _some_ of the time. Can't reliably select different cube sets, toggle the orientation lock, etc. Enormously frustrating. Plus, please tell us what are the new permissions for.
This is the best for Android. Very spendy for the additional category dice, probably worth it though.
Follow up--the problem with the add-on not working offline hasn't been fixed. I haven't had any contact from them since Feb. I just got a new tablet and transferred the app--still has the same problem. I purchased some of the add ons. The app doesn't recognize one of my purchases offline; I've sent an email with no response yet, not even an acknowledgement that my email was received.
I have a tablet and phone. For some reason, despite bing the same account, purchases on one device don't show on the other. If this wasn't an issue, I'd give the app 5 stars.
I think that if you added a rotation lock, you would have a better app. I strongly recommend this addition.
Side menu doesnt function correctly or intuitively.
DO NOT BUY IN APP! The new edition wiped all my dice I had unlocked before. Email support has dragged on for six months. May 2016 Update: still no update.
After today's update the app is perfect! Great design, cubes are much easier to handle, previously bought cube sets can be recovered. Thanks to the developers for that!
Great app for all solo RPG addicts. Unfortunately it is not working on my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo. Dices are there but as blanks - no images on them. I am sticking with phisical dice for now.
Well built and excelent game. After buying the dices I had to buy the app in case of not having the game with me
Fun to play on the phone but when I try to take a picture and share it on Google drive/email etc. I get nothing but black screen and it freezes up. Fix that and it goes to 5 stars!
Great idea, just as much fun as the actual cubes. Looks very nice. One BIG bug, it has already been pointed out: the share function does not work at all. Whenever I try to send a combination of cubes to my son or daughter (or to my own e-mail), the only thing that I get is a black screen, just as described in other reviews. Like several other reviewers I'd say: fix this, and I will give you five stars (or more, if I could).
The new upgrade is really great. Cheers! Thanks for your hard work. Looking forward to the new three mix sets already! fright, animalia and mythic!
Nice idea, but the game hides beyond "It's creativity, there are no rules, don't limit your imagination" mood to avoid giving any actually useful guideline. From the technical point of view, the app is not so polished (might want to check your normals on cube model); some canned-engine with built in physics must have been used tout-court, because manual reordering of cubes is sometimes awkward, and you could end changing a face by mistake, without being able to get back to original one. A random change of a single cube (maybe in response to a double tap?) could prove useful. EDIT: I'm very happy to see that my comments have been internalised and addressed fully. No more awkwardness. However, there's something not right going on when you try to share a screenshot (I ended up with a black screen). Way to go!
It unable to save picture of dice. Blank screen. BUT I found a way around it...pain in the rear though. Take a picture of the grid of dice, on cell, then email it to yourself. It's the only way to save it so you don't have to write down all the dice to keep your story ideas. Wish this could be fixed...if only to be able to save it to the device the application is on. Sometimes hard to keep all the dice still. and locking them doesn't keep them there. Lock need save last grid when open app next time!
When trying to share a pic of the dice, I just get a black screen. It would be nice to share with friends to create stories together and such.
Unable to load additional purchased pack on Galaxy Note 5. Pressing on packs or restore purchases does nothing. No response to touch.
It is great app for writer. Waiting on fright!
Looks good on screen but taking a photo of the tiles shows only a black image. Also when you revert to the game the screen remains black, do you have to start the game again. Sad to see so much promise which fails. Sadly I suggest you don't buy this game till this is corrected.
Can't load my purchases on a new device. No error message, nothing.
Pretty cool to have all the power of Story Cubes on my device.
Works on Samsung tab s2 but I can't load addition purchases on galaxy s3.
Da best
S4 mini, app does not size to screen. Secondly, give it a landscape format for tablets. Third, edit the code to make it less cpu hungry, therfore faster and less laggy. Thanks
Should add the option to decide how many dice the user wants to roll instead of always rolling 9. This option would get five stars from me.
I just installed this on my new tablet, and apparently have lost the "Journeys" die set I purchased! Otherwise I love the app.

It isn't just for kids, adults can exercise their creativity too! I love that you can mix up the dice, use less dice, reroll 1, lock the dice to prevent accidental rolling, and most importantly save a picture of a good roll! These are features I wasn't expecting. I only wish that when you select more than 1 pack you could pick and choose how many/specific dice from each pack to roll. Example: 3 each from original, Enchanted, and Medieval. Right now it's just random how many of each you get when mixing.
