Clio - Your Guide to History

This makes history come alive in so many ways. I've taught history at the high school and college level for years and have been looking for something like this for quite some time--so much good information and I love that there is the option for creating new locations and taking walking tours. Outstanding!

One of the most unique apps around. Entertaining and educational. It's so fun to see how many places you walk by daily are full of histoty -- places you'd otherwise walk by without giving it a second thought. Makes you realize just how connected we are to the generations that preceded us.

Does not pick up historical markers I just passed. Search is terrible.

This app is really helpful, represent a lot of ideas.

Clio represents a lot of great ideas bundled into one app. Since I learned of it, I've visited a number of locations I never would have known about otherwise. I plan on visiting many more. The cool thing about Clio is, if you know about a location not yet featured on the app, you can add it! I recommend this to anyone who travels, or to anyone who wants to see their hometown with fresh eyes.

This app is awesome!! My husband and I were traveling through some small towns back country towns. We turned on our clio app and it turned out that we were only a few miles away from THE Emmitt Till grave!!!! How cool? I will be telling my friends about this app.

Loved using this in Chicago--best part was the ability to hand it to my son and have HIM tell me the history of buildings. He was so proud that I don't think he believed he was being tricked into learning.

I had no idea we had so much history in our little town.

Extremely valuable resource for travelers looking for historical monuments.

Can't seem to do it whether on WiFi or 4G. Basically useless

I live in wv and this app is so neat... I like being able to search local history and this makes it so easy... only issue is I wish the font were bigger on my phone

And it seems to concentrate on one ethnic groups history more than others.

This is a great location based app and directory of all the historical monuments and museums in your area. Easy to use and packed with information so you can get an idea of the place before visiting. Love it!

Yipee!  Taking a trip to San Francisco and now I can find info on all the history and  museums.  I like how I can get directions right within the app too!  Good job Clio! 

I would love using this app if I traveled half as much as I used to. At first it was a little annoying to use, but I soon got the hang of it. I used to desktop version before using the app. The app is more user friendly. I would probably get use out of it once a month.

This would be really interesting to use on a trip. Even my own location gave lots of information and landmarks.

By far, the best app for history buffs! It's very easy (and fun) to create and edit entries needed to preserve local points of interest.

I downloaded this for an upcoming vacation to NYC and it made me the most educated tourist in the city. Its fun for road trips as well as learning more about your own town.
