get me there for Android
Great app! Don't know why people complain about it so much. It's fast, super easy to buy tickets and extremely convenient. To play safe i always carry a portable charger jist in case my phone runs out of battery. Never had any issues!
Not used this in anger yet. The date setup for dob is the worst ever. Took me ages as my dob goes back 72 years and you can't key it or scroll like every other app. So not good before I even start.
Was okay at first. Was slow and cumbersome though I liked the convenience and the buy again feature. However now it refuses to open, only works for one time after a phone reboot and never after that, just crashes every time. Made me late for work today whilst awkwardly waiting for my phone to reboot with the ticket inspectors. Not good! Going back to paper tickets until this app improves.
It's good when it works, but often it takes an age to open or freezes/crashes. It's embarrassing waiting for several minutes when tickets are checked, force-stopping, reopening, trying to access a ticket. It would be far more sensible to issue a PDF barcode ticket that doesn't require the buggy app to be open. And train your ticket collectors - nobody should be asked to get off a tram just because the app is poorly coded.
Can only buy one ticket for a journey instead of several if you're travelling with more than one person. Positively stone age. Load tines are ridiculous, ticket inspector asked me to step off the tram whilst I waited for it to load, I refused which prompted a feeble attempt at intimidation by said inspector. Whilst he was busy flexing his metrolink "authority" in his ultimately unsuccessful attempt to remove me from the tram the app finally loaded. Of course I didn't get an apology from the creature.
The irony of 'Unfortunately Get Me There has stopped' on every first attempt opening app... Still very glitchy and very slow loading times even with latest update. Keeping my ticket on my phone is convenient, though it is actually quicker to use a machine when there aren't queues.
Great when it works, which doesn't include when trying to buy a ticket or when asked to show a ticket by a guard. Far too unreliable. Seems to always crash when previous ticket expires (a maintenance function not working perhaps) and frequently says it can't connect to server even when other apps can connect to the Internet
AVOID THIS APP I only used it once, as I was running late as I saw my tram approaching and there wasn't time to buy a paper ticket. Later in the day, we were boarded by ticket inspectors. I was unable to open the app to show my ticket. I now have a fine for fare evasion that I'm struggling to appeal as they don't answer emails. All round useless piece of garbage!
At the beginning I gave it 3* because the app was sluggish and crashing but now it's had a major bug fixes and although it could be better I have to say it far better than before; the process of buying a ticket is more reliable, no crashing, and when the app is in background and you need to bring it up it works, no crashing, so I have given another * because it's improved notably. Well done. 5* if I could use Android Pay.
The app constantly force closes and hangs between steps. The buttons are often non-responsive and load times are ridiculous when it comes to fending off the Metrolink's Dementors. Inability to buy tickets for advance use hampers its usefulness. Not been asked to step off tram while app loads yet, but if I am, I'll refuse to comply. Imagine suffering through this app and Metrolink's prices just to get treated like a criminal.
On a brand new Google phone, yet the app is unable to load despite re-downloading it several times. Cannot seem to understand why the app is available as it is not up to standard; it's quicker and easier to purchase a ticket at the machine.
Sometimes the app takes a long time to load and I have been asked to get off a tram before now whilst my ticket loads. Would make sense to receive notifications advising when tickets expire!!!
The app as a ticketing facility is good. It has never crashed on me but i had to uninstall it and i will be going back to paper tickets as the app, weirdly enough, makes my camera misbehave. I tested. Without get me there, the camera is great. Reinstall the app, camera shuts off.
Not the best!! Crashes all the time and very unreliable. What use is an app that stops you from presenting a valid ticket when asked!?? TFGM need to sort this!!
Worst app I've ever used. Never loads, always takes forever to load a certain page. The whole app just feels like it was made in the stone age. First things first... PLEASE sort the app out so it Atleast opens when I click on it!!
Shockingly designed application and poor customer support: just buy a ticket on the tram, it's so much easier! Tickets are activated immediately and there are no refunds; shouldn't have bothered and would have saved money by buying a ticket on the tram. The Date Of Birth request on the app is comical, i had to manual scroll back by each month from August 2017 to my DOB in the 1970's........ Will NOT be using again and will remove the app. Terrible app, avoid.
Can't login since upgrading to android 7 because it says my phone is rooted when it definitely is not (I've checked with the supersu app, and also Halifax and Android pay work fine). The app was horrendously slow but has improved recently. But now I've lost my tram ticket because I can't log in.
Awful awful app. Does not take the stress out of my commute at all
Very slow but very useful. Purchases, nice to have option as to when ticket starts and be able reverse stations when making a selection plus have favs. Improved from 1 to 3 stars
Cannot buy TfGM disability tickets. Extremely poor this feature is still not available.
Broke phone yesterday. Bought new one. Downloaded app and used log in details and month ticket i bought on the 28/12/16 isnt there, although in the history it says i bought a ticket on 28th..?? Gonna be messy if the inspectors are checking.
Very little functionality, no useful purpose. Needs a big update if it is to get better. Right now it is useless
Completely inappropriate for it's purpose as every time I try to open it it refuses and stays on what I assume is the home page. Imagine telling that to the ticket inspectors. Have now managed to open and try to buy tickets. It looks like you can only buy one ticket as it is validated for travel only on the day of purchase so not good for couples or families. Not having a year button to enter your date of birth is a pain for anyone over 30. Never seen any software written as badly as this.Get a grip people.
Irritatingly slow. Relies far too heavily on network requests. Push notifications to let users know about expiring tickets are much needed.
Sucks! Tells me that my phone is rooted and refuses to run! I bought my brand new Motorola G4 a few weeks ago from amazon uk and i checked its not rooted!!!
Constantly crashes.. no expiry date on the tickets.. Probably with the hope to catch people out so they can fine.
There is only one thing get me there is good for; training you to make awkward small talk with ticket inspectors as you wait 5 minutes for the app to open.
Thing doesn't even open and I have a monthly ticket stuck on it. Disgusting. Robbery.
Does the job, I've used it 4 or 5 times now and it's helped me catch a few trams I'd have missed if I'd had to use the ticket machine. Number of steps to buy a ticket could be reduced easily, eg the promo code screen should just be an option on the payment page, it doesn't need its own step. But overall app works well for basic ticket purchasing. I haven't had all these crashing problems that others are reporting, been smooth so far on a Moto G.
It crashed on paying for a ticket but I still got charged. Never got a refund from their customer service. Not going to use it again.
Avoid this garbage. Metrolink is one of the worst companies in the world, so it's expected to have the worst app in the world. The app is buggy. When the time comes and your ticket is deleted because of this garbage app, don't call their support. They'll call you fraud and they'll never refund you. Avoid this garbage at all cost. All the getmethere team should be fired for creating such an abomination.
I just can't log in using my account. It works on every browser but not in YOUR app. Shame !
Always seems unable to connect to server whenother apps clearly work. Takes ages to load especially when trying to show tickets to inspectors. Stations don't always appear when puchasing tickets. Unreliable app ehich needs serious investment.
The app doesn't load up most of the time meaning you end up having to go to the ticket machine anyway - and if the tram is due then you end up missing it (happened quite a few times now). It needs sorting out so it's reliable!
App let me buy a ticket on the day all the trams were suspended. Took 1 hour of phone calls to various numbers to get a refund issued, which as of 3 days later is still not in my bank account. Pathetic
App frequently opens without a connection to the server regardless of how many times you close and re-open. This stops you from using previously bought tickets. Awful and needs to be fixed!
Of limited use as family and child tickets are not supported, nor off peak tickets. Pretty basic omissions!
Abysmal app that crashes and freezes more than it works. Have to start it up 2-3 times before it works properly, and even then it takes up to 30 seconds to start while I'm stuck there looking at that hipster cartoon, that I'm sure someone is very proud of, but the only thing it has accomplished is given me a face that I can direct the hate I have for the app and the entire "get me there" system which might be one of the dumbest and most complicated "easy to use" ticket systems I've ever seen. Also the name sounds like something someone threw out there as an idea or a base to build a better name from, but then you got too lazy to think of something better so you just stuck with it. Anyways, your app is a mess and so is your entire system
Needs performance & stability improvements Used to be ok but it now takes ages to buy a ticket with long waits between screens as it connects with the backend.

It's good only if it works. Last time I needed to catch the last train to somewhere else, the staff checked ticket. Asked to get off the team because I couldn't show the ticket on this app.!! Tried to open it but it just flashed then back to my home screen. I had to get a cab to get to the Piccadilly on time!
