Texecom Keypad App for Android
Most notifications don't get through. When they do you, touch the notification and get taken to the app which then doesn't show you the notification, but instead locks you in and you can't exit it. A general issue is Texecom keypads don't show whether the alarm is armed or not which is ludicrous. Whole user experience is poor and the app is awful. Bought the alarm with Comwifi so I could get notifications via the app. Circa £500 wasted. Regret buying Texecom the product is poor.
This app is functional, but its absolutely terrible - it looks as if it was designed in 1999. Sorry Texecom, but I would expect a much better product than this from anyone. Perhaps start with looking at Google's design guidelines. Secondly, no matter what I do, this app simply will not connect to my ComIP card.
I am an installation engineer and have fitted a few ip modules. Can not be trusted to work every time and they cause alot of problems! Texecom need to sort it out.
Used in conjunction with Comwifi module to remote access alarm panel over Internet. Sorry texecom, this needs much more development. Notifications do not always come through or are seriously delayed. This is a security related app and needs to deliver reliable functionality. Great idea but do not rely on this to notify of alarm events. UI is also clunky and app crashes regularly. Guys, seriously, you are putting your product reputation at risk with this.
I have the Premier elite Panel 48. With the comip unit. Had the App on my Samsung S6 Curve phone 2 weeks & just stopped working so tried the comwifi unit same again. Had to totally power down the control panel. ie Battery & Mains. Re applying the Battery & Mains the App started working again. A lot of Bugs in this App. As for the Technical help line forget it. Not happy paid a lot of money for this system to do remote setting when not at home.
Just paid over £700 for an upgrade to this kit mainly for remote access. The app is terrible. Crashes continuously, notifications hit and miss, works on mobile data connection but not Internal wifi. Come on surely it's got to get better quickly
Alerts off app make no sense, theyre not rendering correctly, appears to be some scripting language - not english and not readable. Am getting 2 alert notifications to every address all the time, so 8 in total to 4 email addresses. Why? Have emailed support.
I love Texecom products but they should be absolutely embarrassed by this app, it really is appalling and ruins what is otherwise a superb alarm system. It's clunky, unreliable and looks awful. I know they have things in the pipeline with the new Connect Hub but this still needs a major overhaul, it must be losing them money as they are being left behind in this area and I know of installers that are using other brands because of it. Come on Texe, sort this mess out.
Texecom is there anyone reading these reviews? I don't think you care about the customers who purchased your hardware, went through the challenges of learning and setting it up only to find a diabolical Android app at the end. My entire system is working fine including the app, but what a terrible user experience, you can do so much more come on guys! These negative reviews can't be doing much for your reputation and image . What's in the pipeline to improve this app? .... Come on I dare you to respond and give us hope.
Keep disconnecting for no reason. Spent money for com IP and time to install it for nothing. I prefer Honeywell, galaxy panel and keypad.
This app is a lesson in what not to do. It's laughable. It should be withdrawn it's so bad.
Sometimes fails to connect. Now I see that all of the event log since the day of installation have disappeared. Not great really.
Work like a dream, those who have a wireless transmitter it doesn't work very well, get the wired unit and this works great, though the software should have a widget. Also needs to be encrypted users numbers can easily be found, back up and restore settings would be great to
very hard work to get the comwifi module working and then the reward is an awful looking app that stops working a few days in. really need to get this fixed and offer something better than what's already in the comwifi.
This is disappointing from such a company like Texecom, interface feels very old, sometimes have trouble connection, app crashes everytime I get a push notification and android os always reporting that this app is slowing down my phone.
It's OK but crashes every time I arm or disarm alarm. Could use some interface expert to have a look at, looks and feels a bit 90s.
Had the a Texecom alarm fitted so I would have remote access. This app is very poor and thats putting it nicely. I really regret having a Texecom alarm fitted.

I bought Texecom because I was told it was a leader in security and for the most part their alarms are actually pretty decent. Unfortunately their app for well over a year had been appalling. Constantly crashes, poor consistency of push notifications and now it simply will not open on my android. I am an installation engineer and recently had some training on Risco Alarms, their mobile app is something texecom should look up to. Riscos only let down was the poor look of their pir's. Come on Texecom, your alarms look great and work nicely too....just revamp the app...it's not difficult.
Latest update (v2) has broken the SmartKey feature, which displays the alarm's status, but fails to allow setting of the alarm. Please fix ASAP

On several occasions I have left home knowing that I can set the alarm with this app. I've had full wifi and 4g. On three occasions it won't connect and I have left my house with no security. I paid premium money for what 's effectively a bells only alarm. I saved up for this and I'm gutted it doesn't work.
When i login and connect to site everything runs smoothly except the keypad doesn't show me anything. It just stays "dead". I have setup wintex and that works so i am pretty sure the problem isn't me...
Doesn't work well with 412, As soon as I log in, the main circuit "alarm" call one of the contact numbers I have set for the master alarm(like if someone trips an alarm) so it's impossible to use the program. Please fix it ASAP. Spent a fortune in equipment and cannot use it. And for some strange reason calls the phone in Arc2 and not Arc1. Any thoughts? Event log says: com port alarm[com IP module] every time I check the log when it placed a called

not what you expect from a leading security company app does not work with my Note 4
Since update log not updating, unable arm and disarm from App.
My app has just updated on my phone Samsung Note 4, however it is just flashing checking user areas. It was working fine before but not now since the update.
Since the new update I can only see log data up to 5th Feb. This was working up to current date/time before. Overall a useful app but the loss of up-to-date logs is a disappointment hence 3 stars.

Keeps stopping. Install it and re install it. Engineer cant fix. Keep uninstalling then re installing. Cant use it now. Galaxy S4. Frustrated
The smartkey doesnt work on this update. Please fix.
Setup. Takes a little more thought than manual says but its worth it once you've got it going. No more excuses for forgetting my Smartkey. For the sake apps plus the WiFi module its a done deal. Top marks
Using with new com WIFI board on elite 48. Notifications arrive approx 7 seconds after event (as opposed to anywhere between 45-180 if at all with 2400 texting) and free (again as opposed to 2400 texting which incurs a charge per call made). Some bugs still to iron out and some visual refinement required (how about text instead of 'Leds' on smartkey and why include the flap on keypad in portrait mode? Makes the buttons too small... Basic arming and keypad much much more usable but far TOO basic in appearance... Looking forward to future updates

Had this app on my iPhone & it worked all the time but there again i know how to set it up properly with my router. Just bought a Samsung phone & dreading adding it to new phone after reading the reviews but guess what...yep I get notifications & it arms no problem when I'm away from home. As for a show off to friends I have attached led to the back of my TV via a relay & can switch them on & off from my phone. I think with the com wifi plus router plus peoples wifi is the issue & not the app but that's my opinion. Great app & it's free
