Chwazi Finger Chooser for Android
A friend of mine uses this app, and I think it is very cool, but when I downloaded it onto my Samsung Note 5 it did not work. No matter how many fingers are on my screen, it only "sees" two of them. I'd put one star if I didn't enjoy it so much on his phone.
Love the App, Ivan. I was introduced to it in a board game club event and immediately afterward went to find it. Quick question: is there a way to turn the sound off completely? I have my phone set to only vibrate, yet the App still produces sound. Thanks for the good work!
Awesome app, I love it. Some might misunderstood the number of finger(s) to be selected as number of finger(s) to put on screen. Me as well at first but I figured it out after some mins. My feedback is to describe it more carefully in "How to". Anyway, I still give 5 stars. Awesome app! (oh I did mention that already!)
This app is PERFECT for randomly choosing an item or group thereof. I've used it to select who goes first in a board game, who goes on what team on 2 v 2, choosing which restaurant to go to, which movie to watch, who does chores, and countless other meaningless decisions. Me and my wife use it for various decisions at least a couple times a week. Can't decide who will go downstairs to bring up the phone charger? Chwazi. Who gets to change the poo diaper this time? Chwazi. Eat out or cook dinner? Chwazi. Best app on my phone.
I can get the group function to work, but the chooser function refuses to work properly. The appropriate number of fingers are used and colors appear, but nothing happens after that (waited for around 30 seconds like this). I have turned off guesture controls. Are there any other workarounds? EDIT: Thank you for correcting my mistake. Works amazingly well!
It's great. I help kids play game in a park and if two or more people want to be "it" i always bring this out. Some people seem to have performane problems but for me it work's fine. A must have app at least for me.
it's a very fun way to randomly determine groups and choosing who goes first in games! the one improvement it needs is to use stronger or different colors for groups mode; after all, muted pink and muted purple is nearly the same color, as is muted orange and muted yellow, but electric pink and violet are easily distinguishable.
Great app. Simple and easy to use. Eliminates trying to figure out who is the oldest or whose been to an island last or whose was sick most recently like various boardgames instruct to do to determine who goes first.
Being an avid board gamer this app comes in very useful in determining start player or when making teams for a group game and can also come in useful in other situations. It only does one thing but it does it really well and is therefore very useful.
I probably use this app more than any other app on my tablet. Every time we play a board game, Chwazi comes out and chooses the first player. People get really excited when it's time for Chwazi to choose, and each person has their own "techniques" that they swear will make Chwazi choose their finger. Great idea, excellently executed, and a pleasure to use.
I think this app is amazing, but I would love it even more if it could be moved to external storage. Right now it's stuck on my phone, using space that I need more of, while my SD card still has lots of free space I can't fill. This wouldn't be a concern if I could move this, and several other apps, to external storage.
UPDATE: Awesome, Thank You For the Update! Changed to 5 stars! Am I missing something here? Great for choosing groups, but when I want to choose 1st player the colored circles just sit there with rings circling and nothing else happens. Galaxy S4
Mainly use it as a "who goes first" for board game night. If I had one minor gripe, it would be that sometimes in group mode, the two colors used can sometimes look alike. But a very minor flaw in an otherwise awesome app!
Great app. I have read a bunch of reviews where people are confused about what the finger selector does. If you added the word "Choose" before the number, this would eliminate any ambiguity. It would look like "Choose 1 Finger" or "Choose 2 groups". Problem solved! Please change this :)
Thanks for this neat and super user-friendly app! Two things however: typos in the help ("amout" -> "amount", "highlited" -> "highlighted"), and the help states that in Group mode you choose the number of people per group whereas you actually choose the number of groups.
Works great for choosing start player and assigning teams in board games. It needs a mode for assigning turn order though. Many games have a random starting turn order instead of just clockwise. You can do it with this app by doing multiple rounds minus the previously chosen person but that's not the best way is it?
Saw this on a friend's phone when we were choosing a start player for a game and loved it. Unfortunately on my (admittedly crappy phone, a Galaxy Trend Lite) the only thing I can make it do is choose between two fingers. Nice app when it works though.
After the update I cannot open the app. There is a permanent black screen everytime I do. Please kindly fix it.
A mute option. And I don't like how when I go from group to finger, the quantity stays. Maybe it's picky. But going from finger to group it changes from 1 to 2. But going the other way it remains on 2.
No permissions and simple to use. I loved it. However, the HUD doesn't completely leave the screen. It slides most of the way and stops just shy of the edge. EDIT: Thanks for the response. That makes sense. Maybe the components can be put on a sliding tray with a small tab that overlaps a little more intentionally. The components can slide all the way off, leaving just a visible tab. Either way, it is still awesome. thanks again!
my friends and i tested it out last night, apparently whoever puts their finger on the phone first always gets chosen. fix the software and make it truly random
Well polished. Only thing I found wrong was a typo on first game of group instructions. That setting isn't "people per group" it's number of groups
Great for choosing who goes first when playing a board game. I just pull it out and say, "Everyone touch the screen." People are seriously amazed by this app and will often download it right there.
Pretty sure the title said it all. But this app is amazing! Having a hard time finding a first player?Chwazi! Having a hard time deciding what's for dinner? CHWAZI! you get the point
Ever since I found out about this app it's all we use to determine groups and first player. It's beautiful and functional without excess nonsense. Awesome app!
It does its job and nothing else. Just what i want in a mobile app. (Boots up a little slow though.)
There should be a quickly accessible setting for turning off those terrible sound effects.
Long after the game gets started, I still find myself playing with this app. "Hey, pinkie won this time!" While I might be easily amused, this is a thoughtfully designed little tool.
I'm terribly indecisive about the littlest things, and this app saves me every time. Boots up quickly, makes satisfying sounds, and has a catchy name. What more do you need??
This is a beautiful and excellently designed app. Super simple concept, choosing randomly from a selection of choices, but elegantly executed. We use it when playing tabletop games and it works wonderfully. I truly can't believe this app is both free and ad free. I would happily pay $3-4 for such a great app.
Started using this to decide doubles partners for ping pong at work and if is awesome! Works fast and is so user friendly!
I use this app to determine start player for board games but this app always chooses my friend Steven. Out of the twenty or so times we have used the app he wins every time even against incredible odds. Please check your code something is clearly broken.
Blows minds when I whip it out to decide random first player or group pairings followed by several people asking for the name to download it themselves. Also super popular with friends who are teachers. Only thing it lacks is being able to pre-select possible colors, which would be great for assigning factions in some games. Obviously a cumbersome feature so I can't hold it against the devs for not including it.
No more waiting around for everyone to roll a die. It is quick and easy to order.
Hey guys, love the app but it doesn't seem to work on the xperia z3. It registers multiple fingers for less than a second before making them disappear. Worked fine on my galaxy s4. Issue now fixed. Not sure exactly what the bug was. Multi touch was on, but when I turned up the sound, it worked fine.
I can get the group function to work, but the chooser function refuses to work properly. The appropriate number of fingers are used and colors appear, but nothing happens after that (waited for around 30 seconds like this). I have turned off guesture controls. Wouldn't work for my samsung tab, or my galaxy s 3
I love sharing this app whenever I play board games with anyone. My only suggestion might be to look into a solution for those that are colorblind.
But the interface is unclear about how it works and the tutorial is no clearer. If you get it, ask the developer or a friend how it works.
