TapeACall - Record Calls for Android
This works by setting up a conference call, which is a great workaround for phones that don't let you record the incoming line. It also means your recording is stored in the cloud. I do tons of interviews for my job & love this. // Downside of subscriptions being tied to your phone number: it won't recognize you if you call with a Google voice number rather than your carrier number. There's a workaround though: install "Voice Choice". Upside: I paid for pro on iphone, don't have to re-buy on Android!
I'm a part of a network marketing company (Novae) and we have calls all the time for prospects and teammates. If I'm busy I'm able to call in and record the calls so I can go back later and listen when I'm available. It's great having the recordings at my disposal to go to later on when I need to reflect on anything.
Pro version for ten bucks is just as BAD as the free version. Don't buy it unless its for fun. Very unreliable. The most important, and usually the lengthiest conversations rarely can playback. Replay is mostly silence. Very rare to work right. Tech support has been no help.
I work full time along with starting a side venture that consists of many team calls, promotion calls, and welcome calls. Tape a call gives me the freedom to listen to these calls on my own time along with revisiting them any time I need.
Very good app. Always had an iPhone and now i have an Android. I'm happy they've made the app compatible. One thing, do a practice run to make sure the "beep" tone isn't on because the other person will hear it.
It's good but when it was time to renew to the PRO membership, it wouldn't let me. Not sure what the issue is. It just gets stuck on a screen that reads "Finding Lowest Price". Updated on 3/16/17: You guys somehow gave me a free month to my previous pro membership. After that month, I have the same issue. I still cannot upgrade. Having the same issue as before.
All the reviews on here aren't the best. But I've made like 6 calls in a row, and they've all recorded. The more you do, the more slowly they process, but other than that, it's great!
When it works it works great. Easy to use, share, upload, access and rename. I have had occasional trouble with the call dropping and that's kind of crucial. Also I haven't tried using for audio quality so I don't have a comment on that.
I've been using this app for 2 years and it is indispensable for my work. I am a writer and do a lot of phone interviews. Whenever I've had a problem. ..which is rare. .customer service is good. Only wish it worked for incoming calls too.
in 2015 I purchased the pro version of tapeacall lite ( via the apple store ) . I mailed myself the long version of a very important call. Now I need it and I dont have access to the full call. so i purchase AGAIN the pro version ( now via play store since i changed my device) and still i cant get the full call. this is really disturbing since i need this call for an important legal issue.
I have the pro version and it's been extremely reliable. I'm using the ZTE Zmax Pro with Metro PCS as my carrier. Once I downloaded it, I went into the settings and turned off the beep tone. If you don't, the person on the other end will know you're recording the call so, be sure to turn it off in the apps Settings. Also, TECH TEAM doesn't respond to ALL emails as claimed. Only the 1⭐ complaints. I gave 5
This app worked great for the first few years....begining 2014. Now when I tap the "record" button, it automatically dials a number in Brussels.!!! I got a HUGE bill for this when I didn't realize what was going on. I just discovered this today, 11/30/16, when I went in to use it again to tape an important call. We had been wondering for 8 months where this odd number and bill had originated. I'm baffled and disappointed.
This app has the best storing of audio recordings of all the phone recording apps out there!!!! I came back a year later to the app in fear that my recorded messages would be gone!!!! But they were here safe and sound even across two different phone platforms over two years with the same phone number!!! Thank you tapeacall, you are a badass app!!!!
TapeACall has excellent customer support. The app did't meet my needs, but they were quick to tell me how to get a refund. If you don't like it, contact them to get your money back.
I putchased the pro addition right off because my business partner shared important conference calls with this app. I cant get mine to work! Help!!
I need to practice it a bit more. Missed taping my last call correctly. There was no sound recording after it processed but said it was recording when i was on the call. I guess I can't leave new feed back. I'll add to the old. With the upgrades and my practice using this app. Love it. It's great for meetings and the like.
Hangs up as soon as I click over, bought the pro version really like the idea just need it to work
Fails to finish processing. I record interview calls. These calls are gold to me and it is hit or miss. Tech support fixed the issue but it happens often. Additionally I swapped to Android and Tapeacall refuses to move my subscription from IOS to Android. There answer is pay again. I refuse the app is not 100%. I feel it is poor support. I asked 2 times for an answer and they will not answer! Poor support takes your money and runs.
All the calls I have recorded have had excellent quality, and always show up in the app. Occasionally an longer call takes a few minutes to process, but over all, I'm highly satisfied!
It doesnt work with TMobile apparently. Took my $ and cant even use the app. Able 2 record without having to use speakerphone, which is perfect when recording webinards as of Oct 22 something is not working right Oct 27, wrote and email and haven't heard any reply. It's been 4 days.
Experimenting with many apps, looking for one which covers VoIP. This app is a bit awkward to use, but can record direct phone calls and Skype. With people actively using Viber and WhatsApp, this should be renamed to Tape1/10thCall. Cheers
I wish there was a way to set it up so that when you get a call from a specific number it will automatically record the incoming call. It's inconvenient to say, "hold on" when you get a call so that you can set it up to record. When I make a call, I call the tape a call line and then call the other number and merge which is great when I'm calling that number, but it would be better if there was a way to link the tape a call to a certain number so when it calls all you have to do is answer and merge.
I've had this app for a few years now and it used to work perfectly. However, ever since the middle of February 2016, it keeps saying that my phone is unauthorized. I haven't changed my number. I even reached out to the support team and have not heard anything back from them. I am very disappointed and frustrated at this point.
This app allows me to never miss a conference call when I'm busy doing something else. I can replay back the call and take key notes. Also, I can send to others in a format that can be easily played back on any device.
This is a great app most of the time. One time there was a glitch with using Tape A Call on T Mobile, but Tape A Call eventually resolved it. In the meantime I bought a recorder from Amazon to use instead, and the sound quality was horrible. I write articles based on phone interviews, so I need good sound quality. I was glad when Tape A Call got their T Mobile problem squared away. I recently did another interview with Tape A Call, and the sound quality was SO much better than with the little recorder device. It's easy to use, too. But I have learned to type copious notes on my computer while doing a phone interview, just in case Tape A Call fails.
It works for me. I'm able to record incoming calls, live and calls from our virtual service. The only thing that I don't like is when you answer an incoming call you have to treat it as a 3way call and merge the recording into the existing call. Please advise if there is a work around?
I've had this app for a while, and it's been working perfectly fine. I went to download my calls but I just noticed that I haven't had a recorded calls since the 3rd of this month. The problem I'm having is I've recorded 10 important training since then and they're not there. I'm highly disappointed. I bought the full version of this app specifically to be able to record and download my call. Please fix immediately or issue an immediate refund. Thanks
I've been using the paid version for almost a year now. Have had a few problems, but support has always been there to help me when I have questions or problems. I've changed my 3 start to a 5 star today because I use this app at least 3 times a week and still have every recording. Only thing I'm worried about is when my recordings get deleted. It says a year, but I need them longer. Is this true?
This app has been worth it to make recording and storing calls easy. It takes some getting used to with the switch over but works well when you get it. I got the paid version but changed phones and can't figure out how to get the add free pro version back
no auto record for incoming calls. This is a redialer and combiner not an app that auto records. Nice try. For ten bucks you should have a customer service number to have someone help and ask questions. Feel bad because i need recording
I have the paid for version and I have to wait hours before my recorded calls will update. Takes forever. It used to be better, I don't know what happened.
Unsure if its my phone or Tape A call. The conference call keeps getting disconnected very quickly.. So I will see.. Will keep trying..
I found out today how great type of call is. especially when your phone frys and then you think all your recordings to your dissertations are gone. The Tape A Call support system was quickly there to reassure me all I needed to do was download the app and put in the new confirmation code. All recordings are safe with Tape A Call.
I tried recording several calls for around 3-5 min, I have the Pro version. I own a Verizon phone, so when I want to play the conversation its plays, but in silence, I can't actually hear the whole conversation. Do I have to wait before adding the 3 way call?
I putchased the pro addition right off because my business partner shared important conference calls with this app. I cant get mine to work! Help!!
Support just keeps instructing me how to do a 3-way call over and over (I do them all the time, so I know how it works). I have tried recordings various ways, and unfortunately it's spotty... Sometimes works, but many times the recording is completely silent. Frustrating to say the least. Hope they update and fix the issues quickly. It could really be an awesome app!
I tried to record and important incoming call. When I selected merge, I heard a buzz for about 10 seconds and that was it. I paid for this poor app to record this one phone call, and it didn't work! Caveat emptor
I like the app, so. I purchased the paid version & it was working wonderful. Now it want let me record anything! I don't know who to contact to ask about the issue. So if some can can direct me to the developer I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
I have the pro version and it's been extremely reliable. I'm using the ZTE Zmax phone with Metro PCS as my carrier. Once I downloaded it, I went into the settings and turned off that beep tone. If you don't do that, the person on the other end will know you're recording the call so, be sure to turn the beep tone off in the APPS settings. It records INCOMING as well as OUTGOING. And the recording times are unlimited(example...1 second to 24 hours). For those who are having problems with the APP check carrier

***update*** received SUPER prompt response to my customer service request, thank you for excellent follow through! I love love love tape a call, but since the last update, I've been having MAJOR issues. It will tell me its processing my recording for the whole day and then either not record or won't load the message. I have been a happy user for a long time and never had any problems until recently.
