Telstra Air for Android
Soooo painful, just don't get it.... Typical Telstra glitchy rubbish. Every time it's in range go through the painful process to connect but won't connect. Have to switch off WiFi to regain a data connection. Just don't go there....
Still, I keep having to sign in every time I go near the hotspot. The app opens up and I have to key in my email address and PW. No autofill either. Pain in the ass! Can't it just connect?
Rarely properly connects, phone ends up with no connection as 4G won't work while it is trying to log in. I have to turn off wifi to get functional data access. I have uninstalled
App works. No problem with disconnections. Main problem is; it is SLOW. 1 hour to sync a 400mb file! What an advert for Telstra broadband. .. LTE on my phone does it in under 3 min.
System asks repetitive questions and is not user friendly or adequately supported. In short it's crap and I'm deleting the ap.
In order to connect to Telstra Air I have to make a sacrifice to the gods every single time I want to connect and often that's not even enough to appease them.
Really great I've been using Telstra Air since the prepaid free wi-fi offer started, just please don't end it in March :((

I have registered to Telstra air - when I log in, it prompts me to register for Telstra air, then log in again
Does not auto-connect. Better off using pre-installed software on phone. LG4.
Enjoyed using it whilst overseas.Some glitches but that is to be accepted. Cheaper then international roaming...
What a frustrating piece of sh-- software. I give up on the crappy app.

Thanks for trying, but please stop or fix. So annoying having your phone constantly trying to connect to Telstra Air. I find I spend my day having to turn on and off my Wi-Fi because I just want internet but when Telstra Air connects my internet stops working. 4g is so much better than Telstra Air, just stick with 4g yeah? Please give up on it and shut it down.
Authentication way too slow. App needs to stay awake in the background. Takes too long to restart. Not enough hotspots. DOES NOT automatically authenticate Fon as advertised. Hasn't been updated in 3 months with all these issues outstanding.
To echo another review, it constantly tells me that there is a hotspot available at my home address even though I am connected to my home wi-fi. You need to make the app suppress notifications when the device is connected to wi-fi.
Had to keep logging in when within hotspot including home. Home internet usage shot up far higher than when connected via WiFi to modem. Very few hotspots in rural towns. Not seccure. Nice concept, deeply flawed.
Great - but app needs work. Free wifi - but I wouldn't pay for it if it didn't come with my plan. Doesn't authenticate quick enough, phone says 'auth to Telstra air' when it shouldn't. Tells me when it connects AND disconnects which is annoying. Well done - there is a reason you are Australia's leading phone carrier.
No hooks into the backend of your phone so it has to be running before automatically connecting. Also annoying whenever you are mobile as the phone is constantly disconnecting and connecting with little connectivity while doing so. Probably the phones problem more than the app.
Works for me, seems to be stable it, doesn't drop out. Not time or data limited, ( u know its 'free' but...). I am a happy frequent user. Dont want it to end in March :(
I think that the Telstra Air network is a grwat idwa and comes in handy; however this app is rubbish. Getting the app to make connections to the network is a hassle. I often find myself in locations where I've my pho e has connected to Telstra Air, but i have no Internet because the app hasn't logged me in. I've then open the app to be greeted by a loading screen for the next five minutes. Once the app is loaded it tells me that i am in range of a hot spot, but doesn't connect.
Doesn't automatically connect, even at my home, which has telstra air enabled on the modem. Great concept, pity about the execution. Like many others, I keep trying it, but no progress on fixing defects or improving performance ever seems to occur.
When I'm at home it keeps trying to connect via telstra air....make the software smarter to hold/identify the home network with default connection setting on how to connect from home. Out n about its ok.
At home all my devices try to connect to Telstra Air instead of my home WiFi. Also, unless you are sitting near a Telstra phone box with Telstra Air its useless. If I'm walking around my neighbourhood my phone tries to connect to Telstra Air but always fails.
It has one job and it fails to do it. Simply connects forever, in the meantime I've signed up via the browser. Uninstalled.

Dear Telstra, I had high hopes that this app would stabilize my connection, stop drop outs, automatically connect without sign in and generally be useful. It completed none of the above mentioned functions. It has only served to increase my hatred of your useless services and vice like grip on the Australia Data Network handed to you by Johnny Howard - the giant toss pot. Thank you for yet again proving that selling of government property to prop up the budget only stuffs the little guy in the long run.....
Made my home wifi unreliable on this phone. And why can't it see you have telstra 24/7 on your phone by design and connect and not need you to track down another password.?
It keeps trying to connect even at home. Most annoying. Is there any way I can just opt out of it completely?
Unoptimised coding. Authentication takes too long. Battery drain above what it should require. Lack of hotspots for a AUtop 5 company. Constant drop outs even at home. Embarrassing effort for Telstra total lack of updates considering the costs spent. Try this in 6 months. Maybe.
Keeps disconnecting. Cannot remember my user name or password so have to re sign using web site which often fails. WiFi service also too slow so all in all very poor.
DONT BUY THIS... CUTS OUT ALL DAY. NOT WORTH 50 DOLLARS.. I CALLED TELSTRA AND ALSO THEY WERE RUDE AND DON'T WANT TO HELP AT ALL.. INTERNET CONNECTION IS ALWAYS LOW EVEN THOUGH I AM RIGHT ON THE HOTSPOT. TAKES HOURS AND HOURS TRYING TO CONNECT... DOESNT MATTER IF USING PHONE OR TABLET... HORRIBLE RECEPTION. I WILL NOT BE PAYING THE $49 DOLLARS A MONTH AGAIN... WHEN I COULD PAY SOMEONE ELSE 5 EXTRA FOR UNLIMITED INTERNET AT HOME... YOU GUYS NEED TO FIX THIS SITUATION... OR REPLACE OUR MONEY. YOUR GETTING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS EVERYDAY AND WE GET NOTHING !!!
Would be good if you could connect and disconnect via the Notification. It would be even better if tapping on the notification would open the app rather than the web portal.

Absolute cr@p says im connected and wont even sync emails its slower than the old dial up modems. They should be shamed into shutting the whole telstra air network down. Better to have nothing than this ahould call it Telstra HOTAIR
