About Recipe Cost Calculator v2

There are only a few calculating apps for recipes in the Google store and they are all either too specific or too convoluted to use. This Recipe Cost Calculator is simple and general enough to calculate anything. It is designed to reflect the real world by having a store of ingredients priced at what you really buy it for and then you're able to make recipes base on those ingredients in your storage.

I really, really loved this app, up until my whole ingredient list disappeared. Thankfully, all my recipes are still here. Please fix this bug. Out of the other recipe cost calculator apps, this one is the best on design and functionality. The only thing it needs is a backup/sync feature. This would've been a five star review if it wasn't for the disappearing ingredient list.

Y70%
by Y####:

I want to love this app, the concept is amazing and will really help me price my homemade goods. BUT I cannot create a recipe without first adding ingredients. No big deal, BUT my ingredients keep getting deleted. Which, of course, makes the whole app completely useless. If this bug could be fixed soon, I would have so much love for this app!

S70%
by S####:

Is there any way we can sync between devices? I would love to use this on both my phone and tablet but adding each ingredient and recipe twice is a rather daunting task. Otherwise I absolutely love this app! It's been a life saver when figuring out what to charge for my homemade items.

F70%
by F####:

This app was simple but perfect. The biggest problem was that no matter how many times I tried I could never complete the ingredients list because it would automatically erase. :( I really want this app to work for me. help!

S70%
by S####:

It's a great app. One problem.... While adding ingredients, it stops working and the entire list of ingredients dissappear I have to start all over again!!

B70%
by B####:

Several times my entire ingredient list was deleted, with over 30+ items most recently being deleted for no apparent reason at all. I will NOT be using this app again, big waste of time. I emailed support multiple times and never heard back from anyone either. Don't waste your time with this app, because that's all the app will do, waste your time.

S70%
by S####:

Great app but only if it works properly. It stops working when I add more than 3 ingredients for a recipe

S70%
by S####:

I like the app except it keeps stopping while I'm putting the ingredients in and it keeps taking out some of my measurements which changes the price

S70%
by S####:

I would find it really useful if it didn't erase the measurements under the recipes everytime I close the app and reopen it. I have to re-add all the measurements in order to calculate the price. This app would be a life saver if it weren't for that small bug! I use it for my herbal business. I make products that people use everyday, but use plant based ingredients instead.

S70%
by S####:

Great App..problem is that it just stops calculating sometimes, maybe because the list of ingredients is too long?

Z70%
by Z####:

Certain ingredients do not save properly and will foreclose when trying to save

S70%
by S####:

Can never add even 1 ingredient without crashing

S70%

This app is almost perfect! Just need to be able to sync the list and prices with other people. Some cooperative application, word, excel something!

I really like it so far, but it keeps crashing every time I try to make a second recipe. Edit: Found the problem, using more than 1 comma or special character errors out the string in recipe titles. *Thanks for fixing the issue* I like the New update; Definitely some much needed visual improvement. New issue: New recipes are fine but old recipes before the update do not work and cause the app to crash. I see other people are complaining about this but to be more specific it's only old recipes that make the app crash and New works work fine. Also would it be possible to make conversions interchangeable with ingredients? Like if I put an ingredients listed as 1lb but in recipes I can choose to put 1oz into the recipe or 28 grams. Instead of only 1oz or grams depending on what I used in ingredients. This app is already way better to me than any other similar apps but it's the only feature it's missing compared to some. Definitely have my 5 star rating if it is possible for you to do so. New edit: *Nice Job in resolving the old recipes crashing issue!* Well done and very quick too. But it seems that your grams cost calculator broke in the update. I have 2kg of beans at 4.58 as cost and it's telling me 144g equals 0.01 cents. Keep up the good work. I know how annoying it can be when it comes to fixing a lot of little things then other little things somehow brake. I know the pain. New edit2: I looked more into the cost issue and it is a display issue with the new view recipes display. Save the example given and view it. It will show the error. But when I edit the recipe yes it says .33cents but when I view my saved recipe it says .01cents. If you don't see it then I don't know maybe it's the phone? I have LG G4. Continued edit2: Oh, well, that is odd. Making a new recipe it works fine. So I went through my old recipes and redid the ingredients and now they all display correctly in the view recipe display. Don't know why that is but if you have any old recipes saved that use grams maybe you will see it. If I could show you a screenshot I would (Just so you know I'm not crazy). But now instead of .01 cent all ingredients when I redid then correctly show true cost. Thanks for taking the time to look into this and for the fast support and responses. Now I'll just wait for the next update. An excellent and patient dev you are.

I just wanted to know how many ingredient items can be added to the list in pantry.. Is there a limit or can I add as many items as I can.. My only regret is that I can't convert the price in Indian Rupees ..as there is only option of dollar.it can be very useful to me if I can add as many items in pantry as I can as I am from a hotel industry. Waiting for a quick reply.thanks

I like the simplicity of it and I was able to figure out a way to add worker pay into the recipe cost. However, I wish there was a way to choose how many servings per the recipe. To get a more accurate price per serving.

When entering ingredients into pantry I couldn't enter decimal points. Also after entering ingredients and wanted to edit the unit weight I couldn't, for example changing the pounds to ounces. I had to delete the ingredient and start over. When I entered recipe weight numbers I couldn't enter decimal numbers like 7.4 ounces. Which meant I'd be losing $ if I let the .4 slide and recipe cost would be off. This app would work great if all my ingredients and recipes were in grams, but they're not.

I was looking for a simple app to help me calculate the cost of the recipes I use most often in my home baking business. I thought this one was pretty good, until I tried to create a recipe. The app let me input all the ingredients into the pantry and create a recipe. But, it will not save recipes. If I leave the app when I come back there are no recipes. Annoying and renders this app pretty useless to me.

Seems to be working well so far but I can't add decimal points to ingredient amount so without it the recipe cost calculation won't be accurate. Will rate it higher when this will be implemented

I like the simplicity simplicity of this software. I have only added one recipe so far and it was easy. Costs look accurate. It calculated 1/8 of an ounce of oil at zero when 35#s is $20. Probably too small to register. This led me to my next request for this software- recipe scaling. My recipe x 200 for example. I would also like to to see export and printing capabilities. I am hoping none of the other problems people have reported happen to me. Thank you for this software.

I can easily enter numerous items in the pantry which is great, however, the recipes section will not keep more than 3 recipes in its memory and when I try to input a new one, it closes itself and says it has stopped working. After that happens, I go back into the app and all of the recipes have been erased. This app would be phenomenal if the recipe section would work.

Tested this app out, looked like what I was looking for. First thing I noticed this app was missing was adding an ingredient in the pantry. when you enter the amount it doesn't have the option for a decimal point. If you buy a 2.5 Kg bag of flour you can't enter the .5. no i am not converting, I don't have time.. Second thing - when creating a recipe and you add an ingredient such as flour you can't enter cups or teaspoons or any other measurements other than the unit of measure you selected in the pantry.. The app should be able to convert.. Third it should have common baking ingredients listed and you enter quantity and price.. App then should convert to any unit of measure for ease of use.. Those to me are pretty major, I will stick to the online web page I have been using until this app or other start doing what I need them to do..

App shuts down every time I try and submit a recipe. Also would be nice to be able to change the currency to gbp.

What happened? Suddenly all my saved recipes are gone completely? Simple cake calculator that I've been looking for! Thank you so much for this app! I can't seem to delete ingredients from recipe or pantry? Updated 5 Star with the delete option.

This looks to be exactly what I was looking for, but the lack of an edit function in the pantry is a big negative. Costs change all the time - I don't want to re-enter every ingredient every time! Upgraded rating as I can now edit most things!! Thanks so much!!

Please add decimal to add AMOUNT ingredient in create recipe it would be more convenient rather than fraction eg:1.2 kg .do not opt out fraction function. Now its good application .Thanks for updating.waiting for more features(Pro). Its really help to cost our menu in offline mode eventhough without no.of servings.i appreciate for ur effort.
