Please download and try it to find out more features, and ease of use.

This player is different in two aspects. Firstly, you need to add your music folders, local or on network, under the 'Libraries' tab to scan and play music files from there. Secondly, it plays all music files only through a playlist. The default playlist name is 'Now playing”, but you can remove files from it or rename it for later playing.

This free version has no Ads, but is restricted to scanning maximum 400 songs from any server and a total 1000 songs from all servers together. You need to do an in-app purchase of the premium version to remove this restriction. Note that if you have made a donation earlier, it will be treated as advance payment made for the premium version, and you will get the premium version automatically.

I just stumbled upon this app when I was looking for a player that would play FLAC audio files from my Seagate NAS server. So far, it works great. I really like the interface. It did take several hours to scan my nearly 3 TB music collection, but once that was done it plays all the files quickly and easily. I also like that I can multi-task on my Q-Box (Android TV box) while listening to music.

Even on an excellent connection scanning and caching takes ages! Already cached files are constantly reloading, so you can't be sure what you can actually play offline. There is no option to turn off caching on mobile data. I am using SFTP with a couple thousand Files. Playlist management is annoying, no multiselect options. The list of UI problems just goes on, I nevertheless invested in the app hoping for an update.

"Buy premium to unlock unlimited songs". No thanks ill just uninstall and use some thing else. Im not paying for something thats full of bugs and hasnt been updated in 7months. - Plays my mp3 files, but when i try to play a mp4 file it says "error file not found, rescan folder". Ive rescaned and re-added the folder many times. It shows the file is there but displays the error every time i try to play an mp4.

Looks good, but doesn't work for me. cant connect to my SFTP. connection works fine in ES File Explorer and ive used the same addresses, ports etc. Also tried a few different setting but still nothing. Also couldn't find any help or guides.

This potentially could be a excellent network steaming app but this only partially scans my music library. I have the paid for version so I submitted a detailed report by email to their app support but never heard anything back. So app not working and no support, not impressed.

R70%
by R####:

as others state potential is there. but I suggest something else tho idk what yet... 400 song limit is no good on free and support workers wont really help even if you paid for it. time to find something else.....

R70%
by R####:

OK for streaming from webdav server but occasionally doesn't connect. Sometimes frustrating to use. Seemingly no way to clear 'Now Playing' list. No support. Great potential but devs have fallen short.

Excellent, would be nice if it was a bit more configurable. The rating of music is to much hassle now. OMG a 1000 limit is so wrong, glad I didn’t buy.

Edited my review. Some features like scanning your music library are hidden behind a paywall. That's right, listening to your music is behind a paywall. You can only scan a Max of like 500 songs or something. It's insane. I was gonna a buy it after using it, but not with strong arm tactics like that. Armamp and beat cloud music (by the same guy that makes local cast) both support remote filesystems for those of you that are irritated by this app. They want money too, but they're not gonna handicap their app to force you to pay it, they charge for premium features.

Downloaded the trial to see what this was about. It discovers and scans a file server quickly, which was nice, however that's about the only good thing i have to say about it. The player interface is clunky and lacks basic features of most players. For instance you can't just play all songs, artists or albums. Nor can you shuffle by any of those groups. You must make a playlist before it will play anything. The interface looks very outdated. There is no support for chromecast or chromcast audio.

Only app I know of that caches your ftp music collection, which is cool. But not the most intuitive app I've used and not many features/options.

R70%

Tried to connect it to the shared folder of my router. Does not work. Bummer. Same folder works fine when connecting with other Apps on Android or Windows. Support does not respond to EMails

I like the app but there is one problem i have run into....I paid for the upgraded version and when my phone died, I had to move over to using my tablet and now it is asking me to pay again which is complete crap.

R70%
by R####:

I scanned my server. It told me only 400 songs for the free version. Every song I tried to play triggered the song not found warning, then prompted me to rescan. When I tried to rescan, it told me I have to buy it. Whatever.

R70%
by R####:

Can't manually select path on an ssh server. Impossible to do so by browsing because user directories are hidden.

R70%
by R####:

Basics are fine but some features missing. e.g. possibility to control behavior during sounds from other apps.

R70%
by R####:

The best solution I have found to access music on my network and play it through my Bluetooth speaker. An easy purchase, well worth the money.

B70%
by B####:

I like this app a lot; however, if I could pick a song to play after the current song is over like a "play next" option, I feel like I would like it even more.

R70%

Won't even connect, no problems with other similar apps? Uninstalled.

R70%

Uninstalled before playing anything. Even the 1000 limit on the paid version wouldn't be enough. Let alone 400.

Very nice. Got FTP going on my N900 to serve MP3 files, and this app just slurps up and plays the songs.

Tried this out and bought premium within 15 minutes. It's a great way to stream music from my Qnap NAS and get rid of their terrible QMusic player. I haven't found an easy way to multi select tracks to add to playlist, so adding tracks one by one gets tedious.

C70%
by C####:

The media scanning is fantastic and easy to utilize, but whenever I turn off my screen, the music stops playing shortly thereafter. I should not have to leave my screen on and further kill my battery to listen to music. Especially after paying $3 for the premium version. This is a major issue to me. If this is fixed, I would rate 5 stars.

This app works good with my FTP server. Still trying too work out some details with FTP server scanning. It's going very slow.

T70%
by T####:

So why only two stars? Because being able access and catalog thousands and thousands of songs from many different servers is only half the job. The other half is being able to play when, where and in whatever order the listener wants. And with huge digital libraries the best, really the only practical way to do that is with playlists. Unfortunately, Soumi's developers couldn't have come up with a more user unfriendly, semi-useless playlist system if they'd been trying. First, every playlist you create is more or less set in stone, you can't even edit it to change the play order. And if should want to create a playlist with a fav tune appearing two or three or a hundred times, the developers apparently disapprove of such "juvenile behavior" so much that they simply won't let you do it. Like all to many apps, and even top dollar big name programs, Soumi seems to have been designed by geeks with zero interest in ever using their brainchild themselves.

Best on the play store in doing what it does. Play Now adds music to the now playing playlist but keeps previous songs in queue... is this normal function or does playlist need refreshing?

C70%
by C####:

It lies and says it's empty when I have music on it.

C70%

I like the way you respond to your reviews. Keep up the good work and all I add another star. Please prompt for an additional review

C70%

2 problems. 1: it is not able to scan all my collection on my nas. I still have to scan individual audio books and it takes way too long. 2: you need to be able to sort by file name... this is basic! Those of us with huge collections have to maintain strict file structure if we want to keep things sane and it is not possible to edit all of the metadata to match different players we try or use on different devices so fundamental sorting for playback is not optional but a must. Otherwise, I love this app and was happy to pay for it.

Best player of this kind on the App Store! Is there any way to normalise the volume of all songs so that some songs don't play louder or quieter than others? I can't see an option for this anywhere in the settings. Will this be something incorporated into an update? Thanks!
