What is Guardroid?
Guardroid is a simple app designed to protect your phone from being stolen.

What makes it special?
While there are many apps out there that disable a stolen phone, prevent people using a different sim card, take photos of the thief, send you the phone location, etc. none of them will keep your phone from being stolen. They will surely make life more difficult for the SOB who stole it, but who cares? You have still lost your phone!
Guardroid is different, when activated it will sound a strong alarm if someone tries to take your phone, drastically reducing the chances of him walking away with it.

How does it work?
Guardroid is similar to a home alarm system, once armed it will prompt for a pin code if your phone is moved and will sound a strong alarm if it's not entered.

Q: But what if my GPS is not on or I am indoors?
A: It doesn't matter. Guardroid analyses movements using your phone’s accelerometer, so it will work everywhere.

Q: And what if my phone is on mute or vibrate mode?
A: Guardroid uses the phone alarm audio stream to sound the alarm (the same way your alarm clock does), so in other words it will still work even if your phone ringer and media are muted.

Q:I use a pin/pattern to lock my phone, will I have enough time to unlock my phone and enter Guardroid's pin code before the alarm goes off?
A: No, because you won't have to. Guardroid is smart, it automatically disarms the alarm when you unlock your phone making it even easier to use.

Q: Say I tend to fall asleep on a train/bus and I want to use Guardroid. Won't it go off because of all the small bumps and movements?
A: Guardroid let’s you configure the alarm's sensitivity level, so you can control whether it's triggered by small movements or big ones.
