Finance and Technology writer Jeff Hamilton has created this unique 10 stock index who's stocks are selected by 'The People', not a financial firm. The People's Index app retrieves data from Technology Leadership Market Data Systems, and presents it along with important news headlines of the day.
This all new People's Index is not a Mobile Web application like it's predecessor, but a pure Android Java app. This unique index tracks 10 mostly popular stocks and includes charts, news; and a text entry option to get index, equities, and funds data not tracked in the People's Index. This is a new mobile app that is inspired by the original 1.0 Mobile Web App, but the 2.0 version is completely Android java except for a custom built-in web browser for the AP news stories. Users of the original 1.0 app will not be automatically upgraded. They must instead download this version and manually uninstall the old one, if they choose.
If you are one of the few who downloaded 2.0.0, download 2.0.1 as it contains a fix for when no symbol (blank) is entered in the text entry field.
