FIV collects anonymous usage statistics with Google Analytics. Opt-out in the settings.

** NEW **
Now supports Google Drive file access

Includes a fast and powerful file browser which displays a large thumbnail image and file details. Long press on the name for the option to share the image (email, mms, etc) or set it as the background wallpaper.

Slideshow feature - display your photos in an attractive slideshow with optional transition effects and variable delay.
Display your photo's location on a map - For photos containing GPS coordinates, a new menu item will appear (requires internet connection).

FIV is great at viewing large black & white scanned images. Unique technology allows for incredibly fast decoding and readable scale-to-gray (anti-aliased) views. Navigate between pages/files in milliseconds even on less powerful phones.

FIV supports animated GIF and FLI/FLC in a unique way. See your files animate in the file browser and main window. Pinch zoom and pan while image is animating. FIV is able to view just about any image, but is also a competent animated GIF player.

Friendly GUI allows fast navigation between pages/files with simple swipe gestures and pinch-to-zoom.

Use FIV as a stand-alone file browser/viewer or as the default image viewer for email attachments etc.

FIV is capable of viewing well logs faster than any other software available. As an oil/gas/water well log viewer, FIV can open scans up to 80 x 300 inches (@400dpi).

FIV now includes the ability to export any file (e.g. multi-page TIFF) as a PDF file. It also allows you to save a page in another format (JPEG, PNG, PDF, TIFF, BMP).

The addition of DICOM support is preliminary and is based on our proprietary code. If you find this useful and would like to see more DICOM specific features, please contact us.

Differences between the free and paid version of FIV:
Free
----
1) Displays ads on the main viewer window
2) A full screen ad must be viewed to use the advanced features (save as, save to pdf)

Paid
----
1) No advertising

FIV needs EXTERNAL_STORAGE permission when opening some file attachments which come from streams (e.g. from GMail). Otherwise, no temporary files are created by FIV.

FIV has no external dependencies. The imaging code is completely self contained and written in portable C and optimized assembly language. Please send any licensing requests to tdfsoftware@gmail.com.

What are users saying about Fast Image Viewer

good tiff rendering. good zoom. I had to download 5 crappy viewers before hitting gold.

T70%

Only a small "complaint". Would be great if the image can be zoomed when cropping.

T70%
by T####:

The fastest image viewerfor android. Would rate 5 star if there were better thumbnail styles like the stock photoviewer ones.

T70%
by T####:

works fine, just upgraded to paid version. a feature that would be great would be chromecast integration. thanks

Thanks for clarifying re adware vs paid version! Now I've contributed since the app is great ????

Super fast opening/navigating of TIF files. Plus you can easily rotate them.

T70%

This used to work well but has recently been failing with an error message almost every time. I submitted the automatic report and will revise this review if an update fixes the problem.

Quite good but would appear to be the only app that doesn't take note of the device date format? No option to use non US date format :(

K70%

Really good rendering of animated gifs

I use fiv every day Nice and fast to read My pics and maps

It open, and after 3-7 second, give me an error and exit. I have a paranoid android and worked fine for 6 months.

K70%
by K####:

not many apps seem to allow tiff files to be opened but this one does. needed it to read faxes via email and it works great

D70%
by D####:

On multiple tablets running different versions of Android 4.x I am having an issue where TIFF images have blanked horizontal lines across them. This was the sole purpose of buying this app as our schematics at work use this format (why they chose that format over others is beyond me). Really need this to work as I use Androids much more than my PC's.

And great tech support from the developer. After the update opens Adobe PS -generated 16 bit grayscale TIFF too.

U70%
by U####:

If you have the Note 3 international version it won't work.

U70%

Your image viewer is the only one I found that doesn't interpolate the edges between pixels on large or zoomed-in images, that's the reason I purchased it. It's very snappy, great work!

E70%

The Description is an eye-opener! It does all /sorts/ of things with numerous image formats. The developers must be uncommonly capable to be to offer such variety in the first place, and also do it well. Technically, it must be among the very few most impressive Android apps. It still crashes sometimes when changing between portrait and landscape formats; reported, sometimes. However, that's not enough to downgrade it. Nexus 7 2, no root. Edited 2014-01-05.

This is an excellent app with fantastic support. I had an issue in locating the menu options on my LG G3, it simply was not to be found, the developer insured me it was there and after I still could not find it they went and searched the internet on how it is accessed.... LG G3 has a hidden context menu accessed by long pressing the recent apps button... I would never have found it without supports extra interest in their customers...

The best app for me to deal with fax (tiff files).

T70%

I have created my own gif animations that ate the size of 15-20 minute movies -:FOR REAL!!! And this player has NO PROBLEM playing any of them! Well worth the couple extra bucks for the Pro version!

I use it as main image viewer app!

Searched 'gmail .tif viewer' this is one of two apps that come up. Lo and behold, won't open .tif files directly, must download attachments first, which my enterprise server doesn't allow.

T70%

Doesn't handle transparency if background is black but fabulous otherwise!

Opens all the files in my emails quickly and easily, really great app.

Would be better if it didn't crash periodically. Also, cannot read pdf's that are imported or created. Only reads scanned image pdf's. Maybe updates will improve it. I am told it will.

Can you enable viewing .mdi files which are a variant of .tif files.

D70%

I use this mainly for playing .gifs, sometimes crashes

Good application, does what it says, would give 5 stars if you could navigate through images just by tapping rather than sliding.

T70%

For GALAXY Note II, Save As JPEG, always show "Error saving file - invalid parameter". Save As BMP is ok but the file size slightly much bigger. Save As PDF also fine. Please fix it asap. Thanks.

Cannot read 16 bit images. Has bombed many times on basic operations. I can’t tap on an image and open it from a folder and then have the app scroll through the gallery in the folder. The app forces me to go through the app itself and this kills the flow of a prepared portfolio folder. Renaming function bombs out and cannot keep up with other name changes from apps. Had to actually reboot the tablet three times due to freeze ups caused by this app. And, oddly enough, trying to return this thing, even within the two hour Google Play window, it won't let me. Hmmmmm....what's up with that?
