Dungeon Sketch for Android
Really easy to use, I can draw quicker with this app than other graphics apps. It's more convenient than 2D drafting programs, because it omits the clutter of features which would be totally unnecessary for mapping dungeons. On the other hand, it has great features like a GM view with hidden notes & a Combat view with movable (custom) tokens.
I wanted to use this app on a big TV screen casted from an Android tab. I can get it to cast a blank map to my screen but nothing I can do makes it cast anything drawn on the map. I've also tried it with a phone and it does exactly the same. Really disappointed
Having issues casting to Chrome.... so I have not been able to use as a table top, but it's been a great map maker for my games! Easy to export and print
Has some issues ...like actually being raster, not vector, graphics. Does not play nice with my first gen chromecast. But for slapping my 12" note on the table and using it in play, yes, it works just fine. Used it off and on for years now.
It's really good. I'm surprised. All the other map makers disappointed me, but this is a solid 5
Love, the app, it's exactly what I need to make simple maps, but why can I only save 4 MAPS! It doesn't save new maps altogther now. Very disappointed
I sincerely enjoy this app, it's great if you play DND, Pathfinder, etc; and if you're lacking grid paper or tokens, or just looking for a more digital route for your dungeons! However, I would like to make a few suggestions. Option to make the buttons slightly bigger, my big grubby fingers slip a lot on so small buttons. A curve tool, this would be just pure awesomeness. If you don't understand what I mean, basically you tap the corner of a square, drag it to another corner, let go and drag again to the left or right to create a smooth curve. If you played Cities Skylines for the PC, they have a curve tool for their roads, look it up! A tool like that would be amazing, that way if you want to make a curved wall you don't have to use the circle tool and end up erasing a bit too much, and the circle tool doesn't really give you that much freedom for different curves anyways. Sure, you can turn off the grid and free line it, then you got a sketchy looking curve unless you're Leonardo. Again, great piece of app if you're into DND or any other tabletop game! I would pay for this, but its for the low price of free(No Ads either!)The things I said above would only make it even better.
As the title describes, I enjoy the app. It has a lot of great features, and is easy and intuitive to use. However, it always crashes anytime the screen rotates, rendering it almost un usable for the long haul.
I have trouble with the font size, so as I tend to map my regions, I can't see the text. Otherwise, I love it
Every time when I'm in the middle of making a map it crashes please fix because I really like this game.
Very useful to play d&d with an old friend over distance and when he visits (without the wives noticing) - combat gaming.
Great for mapping out without physical materials. I hope more custom images will be added for 5e monsters, not just humanoids. Other than that, love it!
Crashes every time I rotate my screen. Doesn't export images like it says (it did the first time. Have not been able to export an image since).
Saved notes won't pull up despite a long hold on the token. App is worthless since that feature doesn't work.
Crashes easily I want to love it but to many monsters causes it to crash and you have to uninstal it to fix it
This is helpful when creating a map for D&D and i would really suggest this to some people but there is a slight problem, after about 5-10 minutes it crashes
It's good for basic design and play, but trying to free form straight lines sucks (like stairs). Good for basic square maps.
Has some problems but still very usable
Not clear what to do. Just peace of crap.
Make it so u go online with other of your friends so all can see
Is there gameplay
Once you get the hang of it, you'll really like it!
Good for on the go.
This is EXACTLY what I was looking for. I play D&D from time to time, but would play more if I could (I can't because. . . well. . . High School. But there is a club that meets every Tuesday to play games, often D&D. So that's a little bit of playing time). Being able to map things out and roll electronic dice helps a lot. So, thanks!
I absolutely love this app, it's just perfect for me and what I want to do, one huge problem I have is when I use it I constantly have to change the fog of war for each player after the turns, if you could make a customizable fog of war that follows the player or players can turn with them and change direction, and can stop at walls that would be incredibly amazing, that would definitely make this a five star for me, that's my only problem with this app, everything else is phenomenal.
Very useful and has some great features, but is still rough around the edges. Could use "area of effect" radius tool, map sharing between devices, health/status displays in combat, and easier token management. Chromecast screen keeps cycling to black on updates and there does not seem to be a way to pan or zoom the chromecast display.
I use this app a lot and I love the gm filter, token options and ease of use. My only real issue is that it crashes occasionally on my droid, and that I often have to re-size the grid when opening the program, which causes alignment issues when mapping a large dungeon in multiple sessions. I wish there were some advanced texture and item options. Overall, very good app.
1. Is there any way to numerically scale an imported background map so the grids can align more readily...2.it would also be great if one could predifine highlighted grid spaces for event triggers ie. Rothgar the bronze steps onto the predefined tile and a downloaded image of an explosion appears on my TV after which the map returns to reveal the tripwire trap he inadvertantly triggered, also automated FoW based on lighting fixtures and vision extent would be super features THNX for your work
So far this is the only map drawing app I've found that actually let's you draw the maps, not just randomly generate them. Its very straightforward, user friendly, and works great. I highly recommend it!
Only two suggestions / questions I have is...Can you set the save/open file location? Or are you stuck with the preset location? It would be great if you could save a usable file to any existing cloud storage so you could use this program across multiple devices.
Would be exactly what I need, except elements keep disappearing from my screen (menu buttons, grid, options), and it crashes literally every 5 minutes. Useless until the bugs are fixed.
So many features packed into a free, ad-free, open source app
A great little tool to help with combat
...until you realize the export feature doesn't really work. :(
Then i spent two hours putting full detail to a map, color coded everything, monsters layed out and all traps set up. And now i can't load the map whatsoever. Its saved, but it WILL NOT LET ME OPEN IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Excellent.
Pretty cool
Good for on the go.
Doesn't have enough

It's also great for mapping computer games as you play. I can use the grid for detailed maps of mazes, and free sketching for "where are the shops in this town". The select-and-move tool showed its power when I realized I'd counted one square wrong halfway through a dungeon. I was able to move the misaligned part of the map so that everything connected up again.
