Donation Assistant by TaxAct

The login and password work fine on my desktop computer. I also tried deleting and re-installing the app. There are many people reporting similar problems in the Google store, but nothing on TaxAct's support page except instructions on how to print. Time give up on this app, I think.

Simple to use. Categories are odd, with respect to toys, kids stuff. I use this app while preparing clothing donations ahead of time; however, you can't change the date or recipient of the donation after the fact, so you can't (for example) plan to donate to your local Goodwill and then change your mind to a different Goodwill, or plan to donate tomorrow and instead donate next week. Minor issues, but still annoying.

I installed it and it was working great. Tried to go back and look at 2016 before I import and keep getting request failure. The donation assist doesn't work on the website (says it will be available at a later date, which probably means never) and now it's not working in the app. Time to look for new tax software.

I barely got it installed and its already acting an ass! Am I supposed to use my regular tax act account sign in? It would not even allow me to create an account in the app...ugh. Then when I used my regular sign in info...it took me to the website...which didn't appear to be secure...fix it or not...I'm uninstalling

Works ok. Taxact charges you to download info from this app for your tax return. They have gotten rather expensive. Used to be $30 to file federal and state. I paid $75 today! Quite an increase. Should just pay someone to do it. Would be nice if this tracked mileage, too.

Such a good idea; such a poor execution. If you can get through the annoyance of trying to use this awful program for recording your donations, then it is a dream come true at tax time. One big issue is if you want to itemize items that are not in the list. You can list them under "Other," but when you are done, you will be kicked all the way out to the home screen. You have to find the day for this donation and continue from there. As I scroll through the list of categories, trying to find the right place to enter the non-clothing item, the screen opens up the keyboard so I can type. I don't want to type. I want to scroll. This program is fiddly and annoying. The more I use it, the more I hate it. If you ONLY donate clothing, it is fine, but everything else is irritating as all hell.

After spending countless man hours loading donations into the app, now it won't even recognize that the app is associated with the TaxAct account! Absolutely no way to contact support. Ridiculous! I've used TaxAct for years. They have lost a loyal customer.

I was able to use the app initially when I downloaded it in March of 2016, but now I can't get in at all. I verified that the credentials work for the website...but it now doesn't seem to recognize me via this app.

You log in using your regular Taxact account, and I assume you are then easily able to import into your taxes. However, at least half of my login attempts have taken me to the mobile Taxact website instead of the app. I've also found that if you leave the app you are automatically logged out. Very difficult to enter something like a donation organization's if I have to log back in after I look it up (and log in yet again if I forget the zip code or something).

Started 2016 return on the website, so I know my credentials. The app however won't log me in. It's crap!

Horrible. I tried using this for my 2016 donations, mostly because the TaxAct site is horrible for quickly entering donations. This app is a little easier... but it still requires too many "clicks" to do simple things like set a date or set the charity. I suggest that the designers/developers use this to enter 10 donations and see how they like it. But the big kick in the face came when I tried to import the donations to the main TaxAct site. "This feature is not currently available. Look for it in a future program update of TaxAct!" WTH? I'm using the same username and password, using the latest version of the app. Not cool.

This app is impossible to get into easily or at all actually. I reset the password, try again, get to the tax portion (maybe) but never to my list of donations. There's definitely something wrong with this app or with me but figuring it out just isn't happening.

Totally useless. Immediately after creating an account it would not allow me to log in. I was prompted to create an account!!

Not ready for prime time. Can't edit entrys. You better get it right the first time. I like the idea but TaxAct missed the boat on this one. Deleting from my phone. Guess I'll continue using paper.

The program won't recognize an id / password. It rediects you to reset password at tax act site, and after all of the secuity queations and e-mailed reset codes you get right back to your name and password are not recognized.

You log onto your account and are stuck at a "go to" screen. Reinstalled, same issue. Can find no way to get this app to do anything except log into your tax ACT account. Rating should be zero.

No longer works. Does not recognize my TaxACT username/password which works on the website. Changed password, uninstalled/reinstalled app...no luck.

TaxAct online says it requires 2.0 or above. I have 3.1 and TaxAct online can't locate my TaxAct App contribution account which means I have to go back and re-enter a year's worth of donations. Not worth the hassle. Oh by the way, it's now April 2017. When will this be updated for the current year? UPDATE: May 2017. Can now enter donations for the current year. Waiting until tax filing for 2017 to see if the bugs are fixed.

App doesn't work how it's advertised. Had to manually upload taxes this year, and now it won't let me upload my 2017 donations. May not use this service next year now

I cant get the app to download to my return. I can't find a phone number to ask for help and i have the 3.1 version on my phone. Now I have to enter everything twice. Waste of time.

Have had a terrible time linking it to my Tax act account. Doesn't update with the changes I've made to my Tax act account..terrible

I can login to the website but cannot use the same login for the app. I used to be but something has changed and no way of getting support.

OK, it's March of 2017, and this app hasn't been updated for the current year. TaxAct, have you abandoned this app??????

Will not open. Says No Connectivity. All my other apps are working fine.

Doesn't work with Tax act 2016, won't import!

Cannot set year of donation. So if you forget to log your donation in December and now it's January or February, won't let you change the year.

VERSION 3.1 works much better. Thanks for the update. ------+---------I set up my login on tax act. Then I log in with the app. Works one time then it screws up the password and I have to start all over. Losing confidence in tax act.

I WILL NOT change this review until "$0.00" is an acceptable price for each item. Because almost all the charities I donate stuff to actually give the stuff to people and animals in need. Oh, and if an update making it an option doesn't come out without a month, I will go to Twitter and my friends and give this app bad names.

Just installed it & it works perfectly. I had no problems logging in with my TaxAct login information and was easily able to immediately create my first donation. I love the fact that you can do a recurring donation. I set up my weekly church donation for the whole year and it tracks the donation as each week goes by.

Once I was able to finally log on, it worked well. I'm skeptical that it will work once tax season comes around next year.

Stupid app logs you out for "security reasons". It's just plain stupid. I could maybe tolerate if the app wasn't being used for a certain length of time, but being active & inputting donations in one after another without a break, it signs you out while in the middle of selecting items, going menu to menu. This app was so much easier to use last year & the year before. (That was fixed BUT WILL NOT IMPORT! I'VE BEEN A FAITHFUL USER OF TAXACT SINCE AT LEAST 2000, WILL NOT USE NEXT YEAR, IT'S BECOME CRAP. :-(

it was hard to log in when they said the names I picked were unacceptable. No, not at all nasty. but it took 3 days jacking with their security question's and pics.....free doesn't always mean easier. will try once more next year depending on when my direct deposit get deposited

It fails to log in repeatedly with the credits that work on my account. After going back and forth several times in email with support staff, there is still no resolution.

What the hell. I put in a support ticket and all they said to reset my password. That did nothing to help

Can't add pictures...keeps closing. Not worth my time.
