About E Numbers Calc: Food Additives

What’s in your food? Do you know all the ingredients of the food you eat?

There are food additives in almost every food that you consume - some of them are safe, but some are harmful to your health. With this application, you can quickly check „which is which“ whenever you go shopping.

This application can assist you in your food shopping. With the E Calculator, you can find the additive by its E number very quickly, or you can search the additive by name, using the E List (this case is especially useful when the food manufacturer uses names of additives instead of E numbers). E numbers are categorized from 1 (good) to 5 (dangerous), to give you an idea about their safety or health risks.

More than 500 food additives with their name, safety level and purpose are included in this application. You can easily switch between different languages of food additives names, this is extremely useful when you are abroad and want to check additives written in foreign language (currently English, German, French, Spanish and Czech is supported). Also detailed information about most of additives are included - like dietary restrictions for vegetarians, vegans and religious groups, detailed description of side effects, origin and other information. No need to download any data from internet, everything is included inside of the application.

The program is localized in English, French, German, Spanish and Czech language.

Give us feedback, we will prepare new versions of this application with features that will be customized to your request!

Nice app. BUT: a few UI elements seem a bit out of place (at least on my Xperia M4 Aqua) and French translation of UI is absolutely atrocious. As for the database, I guess it was last updated with the app, which takes us back to 2013... isn't it time for a big update? I'm not sure I can trust pieces of information that are 4 years old...

Probably one of the best. Very suspicious that the notorious E-numbers like E591 are unclickable. Like the developer gets payed by the aspartame industry to block excessive information about the product. Though, it warns about aspartame unlike what i have seen in comments from other apps with the same function.

Y70%
by Y####:

One suggestion. Please enable all E numbers for further info when you click on it. It would be great to know specifically why an E number is not recommended. Also you can't see when one is not recommended for a vegan but ok for a vegetarian if you can't click on it for further info. Just a blue exclamation mark. Otherwise an excellent app. Thank you devs.

The app allows easy lookup of food additives, either by entering its number or by searching in a list. Each additive has a "danger level" from 1 to 5, warning for special groups (allergies, religious groups etc), and basic information on its origins, usage etc. Being curious I would like to have a way of going directly to Wikipedia or some other objective site for further information.

Good app. But why no info on aspartame, other than its danger level? I know it's bad but others might not know why. Manufacturers of aspartame not allowing it to be criticized?
