About 3D Virtual Tabletop

For pen & paper role playing games like Dungeons and Dragons or Pathfinder. Bring your RPG fantasy world to life!

"This app is badass." - Steve Helt, Paizo RPG Superstar 2013

Explore a map containing friends and foes. More than 150 miniatures and 12 maps are included or you can add your own from pictures stored locally on the device. View the tabletop from any direction, you can zoom out to see the whole map at once, get a top down view for counting squares, or look over the shoulder of one of your heroes at the monsters they are facing.

Start a multiplayer game with others, whether they’re around the other side of the world, or across the room.

It's purely a simulation of physical miniatures on a map, without any rules, like you would have on a table at home.

will rate 5 stars when you can use like the youtube help videos. for now to remove minis i throw them off the map. also waiting on chat feature. otherwise its awesome and android version is great for in person games. make it so that u get unlimited local maps and minis since android version isnt set up for online play like ipad and pc/mac version. i paid 99c just to find out i cant really network it. still glad to support my fav app on android. id choose this over any launcher any day

I optimistically backed this app back when it was in Kickstarter. It's good and simple. Does exactly what it says while being stable. The problem is it is missing features still that were promised back then, almost 5 years ago. I would rate it higher if after backing it and years of subscription the development would have finished out, but, alas it has stagnated.

It's easy enough to use and the minis are great. The minis import feature is a huge plus. Few things missing that keep this app from being great, however: - No object placement Pick grid size, a map, and place the minis. Basic, sure, but it'd have been great to be able to place objects (using any virtual tabletop tiles) on the map like clutter, tables, etc, rather than having to rely on the battle map for the field clutter. - No minis categorization It'd be a huge help if the minis were pre-categorized (dragons, monsters, humanoids) and of course custom category list for users.

Added save scene feature. Makes this the best d&d map tracker out there. And it's only a buck a month, who can argue that. Plus check out their online version!

W70%
by W####:

Its nice but it needs more stuff, health bars and weapon/spell damage. Item and weapons lists, spell lists. More tokens ingame dice, etc. Then ill consider it a app to use for d&d. Using multiplayer requires a subscription? You do know rolld20 lets you multiplayer for free?

Please add in a folder or sub folder system so we can easy access grouped maps & unit tokens. Your pre maps & unit tiles are great but if we add any we end up scrolling for an age trying to find what we want.

This is the app. Undoubtedly, irreversibly, the best app i could use. Everybodys complaining that they cant chromecast, but i just cast the screen. Awesome. Awesome.

Really good. Problem with saving combat encounters and exiting app. Otherwise does what I want.

R70%

It was an amazing app, even when there were issues with sinking, but when it worked it was awesome, but now you can't use it as there is an error 403 with login, it's a pity I have to now unsubscribe, and possibly uninstal it...

The import feature is dead sexy to a perma-DM like myself, especially when I run Star Wars RCR when we're not D&D'ing!

The perfect app for someone who hates drawing maps, works SO good with map pdfs.

R70%

I Like that it allows you to use your own Maps (with Fog of War) and Non-Playing Characters/Playing Characters. And it's Save screen allows you to go from Scenario-to-Scenario!

D70%

There needs to be an ability to draw lines and place traps. It would nice if you could add a function that let's users draw straight lines and place a or squares or circles.

They listened to the fans.....I like being to add my own maps

Didn't work. Just a black screen.

You need a subscription. Free is a lie.

3d Virtual Tabletop looks good. But $12 a year is outrageously expensive for this kind of tool. I don't mind buying an app but there are cheaper solutions. It is also missing key features that even free apps have. Pass.

Choice of views between top-down or isometric is something I haven't seen in other VTT's and it makes this app shine. A marker on the figures to indicate conditions (i.e. on fire, slowed, poisoned, etc.) would be super nice. A built in dice roller and initiative tracker would make this perfect! The monthly subscription model to share game with friends is kinda a bummer. Still I'm giving it 5 stars for what it does well...replacing a cluttered tabletop.

A few new features wouldn't go awry. Maybe cardboard support? Or as others were saying, a chromecast option with fog of war. Or the ability to use 3d objects like tables, chairs or walls? These would all easily make this app into one you wouldn't want to play without. As it stands now it's decent, but not always useful

No matter how long I hold over a miniature, there is no minus bubble over it. I am currently using a Galaxy S4. Figured out the problem and revised rating!!

You won't find anything better for quick and easy RPG gaming tools. Lots of virtual table tops out there, but they have so many bells and whistles they slow things down. This gives you just what you need and makes it easy to handle. Beautiful.

Our gaming group is pretty artsy and we like to draw our own maps. That makes this app so close to perfect for us that it hurts. We also have little offspring. Preschoolers are doom on miniatures. And maps. (And dice, but that's a different app.) You enable Chromecast so I can put our map and figures on the big screen OUT OF THE REACH OF THE SHORT PEOPLE WE CLAIM TO LOVE while we play and you will become second only unto Gygax in our hearts.

The app is superb, controls are smooth, adding maps and tokens is easy, looks very good on my Galaxy View. Also very useful when you have wandering cat monsters in the house who like to step on the maps... Some improvements that would make it near perfect: being able to rename and edit token and maps instead of having to delete and redo, add an option for area of effect spells like when you cast a bless, acid fog, entangle, wall spells, etc., being able to draw on the map, add movable objects. Thanks for the good work !

I have really enjoyed this app and for a long time viewed it as a 5/5. Recently came across something that I wanted but liked for the option and didn't find it. This app provides a lot but maybe could use additional features. The one I came across was when I went to use this for GURPS and realized it wouldn't work because GURPS uses a hexagonal board. If it has that feature I'd probably go back from my current 4.8 to 5 star opinion of this app. Would be nice if pricing was a one time payment.

But it needs for war feature and to be able to broadcast to chromecast edit fog of war is there, ideal for playing in your front room not so sure about online games

Absolutely fantastic app, love the features, the ease of use, the ability to upload my own minis and maps and resize the grid to line it up, only a few minor things keeping me from giving it 5 stars: I would love to see a tap adjustment to the X and Y offsets so you can fine tune to get that perfect grid line up when loading a new map, and I would absolutely LOVE the ability to sync saved scenarios with your account. Other than that, this app is terrific!

N70%

It's a good app. I just have one problem: it won't let me add my own minis... Every time I try, the app restarts. It lets me add maps just fine, so I'm not sure what's wrong... I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it but it still won't let me add them... :/

If people want to cast this via chromecast, use the chromecast app to cast your screen. Once you begin casting your screen, you can leave the chromecast app and, well it casts it...

Good otherwise but it runs my phone EXTREMELY hot. I can't use the actual tabletop view for longer than an hour without my full battery being drained. On a Motorola X 2nd gen Pure edition. I'm hoping it's just a bug, I'll try it on my tablet later.

If you're playing at home with your group it's just another gadget you have to fiddle with that distracts from the game, I downloaded it to play DnD on the go but with no integrated dice roller and no matchmaking or games browser that's out the window. If you need to already know the people you're playing with in order to set up a game why not just set up an actual game night in person? Add to this theres a subscription fee... if it was a one time purchase I'd keep a pin in it but I'm not really interested.

This is a great app, but there were many other enhancements promised a long while ago. When are we going to see some of those enhancements? Maybe you're stretching too far with this multi-platform idea?? Please don't lose sight of the original dream! It was a good one.
