This app will ask your permission for some things when you install it. Here's what those permissions mean, in plain English:
Full Internet access: You'll need to have access to the Internet to view and reply in the forums.
Read phone state and identity: Google says this allows the app to know when a phone call is coming in. That way, the app can pause itself and let you answer the call. We're not using your identity for anything; these two permissions are bundled together.
Modify/delete USB and SD card contents: When you see a picture posted in the forums via the app, it needs to store it on your internal storage or SD card.
Prevent device from sleeping: When a notification is received (you can set those up in the app settings), the app will need to wake the device up so it can deliver it.
Control vibrator: Needed for notifications, so you can have your phone or tablet vibrate.
View network state/Wifi state: Because the app requires you to have a network connection, it needs to be able to *know* that you have a network connection. If you don't, it will tell you.
Automatically start at boot: The app will notify you about private messages and replies to subscribed topics. Without this permission, you would need to restart the app yourself each time you restart your phone to continue to get notifications.

The recent upgrade was a downgrade. It's less user-friendly than before and I see only a single improvement. Hyperlinks to other posts within the app usually don't work, hyperlinks to TT posts from the web to the app never work, and many user setup options within the app don't work correctly (such as jump to first unread post). I would say "it's free, you get what you pay for," but I'm a paying Team TT member and I expect better. I don't visit TT as much as I used to now because I don't care for the new format changes at all. However, private messaging via the app was improved.

If i could give it 0 stars i would. First it runs like crap and its so slow. Second i can't message anyone or create any new threads? I want to post so many things but i can't. Worst app ever. I love thumpertalk but their app is horrendous.

This app is so bad. First off, it runs terribly on my samsung galaxy S7, very, very slow. Ads pop up every two seconds. And everytime I try to log into the app, it doesn't work at all even when it works on my computer. (I tried to log into at least 10 times). Overall, it is not a good app. It needs sooo much work. You should just stick to the computer.
