Takl - On-Demand Home Services for Android
I like the app. I'm a provider and I think some jobs are cheap. There is also ways a costumer can get you to do more work for less money. They will just chose custom job x small . I never take them but the problem I think is that it would drive costumers away if no one responds. Those jobs pay like 50 here in California minus their 20 - 30%. They should have someone looking at those custom jobs and advice the costumer.
They charge 30% to the local provider. That is a huge take for a referral service. Even if they are fancy with a good interface. Also, someone I hired for a job came by to pick up a tool and we hung out a while talking ect. Takl calls me and questions why he was there. They use their data to monitor providers location and movement! Yikes. I they tried to question me and I am like, why are you wasting my time and accusing me of something you only know because of shady oversight. Very concerning direction for an app company.
Disposal fee & terms should be reviewed. My understanding was that the provider would have a means of disposal of items picked up & I ended up paying more for the job
First provider bailed at the last minute. Takl called me and had the job booked with another provider in less than 15 minutes. Job was complete an hour after the original request by the alternate supplier.
Is there something special you need to do to be notified of jobs? I havent had one request in over 4 months of being signed up. Is there an "online" button like Uber?
First time that I've used it, but easy to use, quick responses by providers, great job by the provider that I selected.
Wouldnt let me sign up after acknowledged terms of use, no prompt, and privacy statement on a galaxy 5
I understand this app I understand that you can hire somebody to do your yard for example but if I wanted a job to do somebody's yard how do I sign up as a employer not a customer.
Great way to find service providers
man! what a God sent app
You are paying double of what it cost locally
Great service. Highly recommend!
Amazing. Really needed this. Making a huge difference in providing the extra cash is been needing.
They do what you expect
Easy, fast, convenient!
Over 2 months to completely get set up. System is terrible. Once you say your available you then have to wait for customer to choose from you and others that said they are available. Then client can make it worse to let you bid auction the job which is terrible. App needs alot of work!
I signed up for TAKL in November, I have also worked the Handy app. TAKL pays more and gives more than the other app, plus they have more jobs. I have completed haul aways and house cleaning tasks, haven't had any trouble getting chosen as a provider or getting paid. Thank you TAKL, this is exactly what I needed <3
I have been using the app for a week now. I signed up as a provider and paid $35 application fee. I didn't think it would be a big deal considering I thought I could make some money. All wrong. I have said I was available for simple jobs only for the customer to choose another provider. I may be a woman but I'm educated and trained in different areas. I even have my own power tools. Sadly, I was never given an opportunity to prove that Im a good pick. I feel robbed out of my $35 now. Very messed up system.
Don't expect to compete for jobs if you don't have the fastest 4G connection. And expect that their provider support is unhelpful, dishonest. They are exploitative and just making $ off your hard work. Read the fine print in the Terms. Craigslist still works for me fine.
Like many other failing apps. This one may not be around for long. I've signed up few month ago and have not got a single job. The one time there was a request for a job, it was over 90 miles from where I live. Additionally Takl expects you to get your own liability insurance, which could cost around 800.00 a year. Drive for UBER, you'll make money the first day
Customers are way too cheap. They expect you to provide services for less and also pay for materials (paint is expensive you know). If you don't want the provider to CANCEL pay for your OWN materials, and I'll provide the service... CHEAP BASTARDS!
New Provider: 1. Finished the application & orientation videos in less than an hour. Background check done in less that 48 hours. (Very good) 2. Took about 2 more days to activate my provider account (WAY too long). 3. Accepted and was chosen for 1st job today - to haul off a lot of stuff. Disposal fee was only 60% of what the landfill wanted. Luckily, the lady gave me a break on the price since I simply didn't have that much cash. (TAKL should base haul away jobs like this on volume & know what the local landfills charge to be able to charge the appropriate disposal fee). 4. Watching potential jobs post here about 1-2 per hour during the day. Providers must be paying close attention to snag a job. 5. I agree that the 30% cut for TAKL is high. That's why I'll be trying to catch them before the timer runs out to get an 80% cut. 20% for TAKL all the time would pull in more providers & make more money for TAKL. 6. Customer reviews on this site regarding high prices for chores are simply cheap people. Without TAKL, just try to get someone to show up at your house within an hour to do anything! 7. STOP THE WARNING POP UP!!! It is insulting and demeaning! JUST STOP IT!
Not worth your time. Customers are cheap and Takl takes too much money.
They are greedy and charge a crazy amount in fees to both the consumer and supplier. Greed at its best.
I think it's excellent, people can always use help around the house
How do I become a provider & make cash doing jobs?
No jobs posted, never
The training section is a nightmare to deal with, I got logged out when I checked my bosses text and now it says I never created a password. A little window pops up that says an email has been sent that will reset my password but it never came. I can login to the regular app just fine but not the training section.
As a provider on the Takl app I have had a pleasant experience, the support is very prompt and helpful. It is a great way to find supplemental work if you have the tools and knowledge. Obviously one should practice discretion in making oneself available for a job, however in the case of a misunderstanding there are ways to work around the situation within the app, based on my experience you will be taken care of.
Eagerly downloaded the app. Then I saw the prices... OUCH. So, $50 to haul away one piece of furniture, PLUS a disposal fee PLUS PLUS a SERVICE fee. No thank you. I can go down to the local Home Depot and get someone cheaper, or give a neighborhood kid a few bucks for doing a job. I wish you good luck but don't think you'll be around long with these prices.
I love the extra money, but I would like if you could be notified when a new job is available there is no way to no unless you manually go in to see. So if you are a provider it would be great if you could be notified by text when a chore is available.
The people complaining about the prices here have never hired a handyman. I charge $59 per hour and a minimum of one hour plus materials and disposal fees if I am charged, oh and thanks to Jerry Brown the prices will be going up every year for the next 5 years, yay for $15
Its a bad deal for both the customer and provider, the low balled jobs keep qualified professionals away leaving customers with inexperienced unqualified providers doing sub par work.
$45.00 to move 10 items? No way these a joke for bussiness owners everywhere. Yall need to let company's set there own prices. Once yall do that reach out to me ahain till then ill be on thumbtack
If you want maid service they break it down into categories for a home. Who hires a maid per area. Usually it's for the whole house. Additionally, if you want to hire movers the categories are weird and doesn't give you an option for a whole house. I will just use Craigslist or hire movers through somewhere else.
Sadly, I agree with all reviews . Prices way out there, plus service fees, plus supply many items for cleaning, etc. So hopeful this would be an additional resource as we are aging . . . . Best wishes!
Great idea way too expensive. $45 dollars to mop the floor? I dont even make that much in an hour and Im a registered nurse. I will never pay for that!!!
This app needs some serious updating. Provider jobs disappears as soon as notices are sent
