Scoop - Carpool with Co-Workers & Neighbors

This app is completely unreliable during real times of need! I needed rides to go to a 2-day training. The first day, they couldn't find me a driver. The second day, they found me a driver, but he cancelled the trip for some unknown reason. I was surprised that they didn't find me a back-up driver! It's disappointing that you schedule and wait a day in advance only to get rejected at the end. They have a neat business idea and the rides are cheap, but it's far from reliable usability.

Have never known there so many people going in the same direction that live near me. This is truly innovative for environment and transportation.

Never matched with a ride even after going through the tutorials. So I'm going to dislike it

There should be a way for second match. So that some times people can reject a bad route match and get matched second time.

Great way to find someone to carpool with on your way to or from work. Works as advertised for me.

I was able to put in my work address but not my home address.

First, the matching needs to improve. The app needs to propose match to driver and give him or her a bit of time to accept or reject. Once driver accepts, the matching should be shown to riders. I used it twice. Both times, the app matched me with people far off from me. I don't mind that as long as the app gives me the option to reject. I know the app gives that option, but if you reject more than once in two weeks, you get penalty. Edit: 8/27: i got a communication from scoop that i can cancel if the route doesn't match properly. Also, the matching seems to have improved. Increased the rating to 4 star.

Terrible algorithm in the back end. Usually need to make big detour to pick up riders. The app needs to improve in the way that it can momerize users suggestions so that it won't match someone in the same area less preferable.

The matching algorithm in average is OK for my area (usually it's far off of my regular way), for other areas it may be better though. The time frames are not convenient for me: I usually take off after 10:30 am. Would be great to have an option to accept or decline a match. Worth trying though to see how it works for you. It was easy

HORRIBLE design decision -- SPAMS YOU CONSTANTLY! I install it. I try to find rides in my area. No problem, I get it. So I uninstall it. Now every day or two I get SMS messages about asking me to try again; that so-and-so is in my neighborhood and wants a ride! I didn't explicitly agree to SMS messages. But I get them AFTER I UNINSTALL? And there's NO WAY to stop them!!! You have to *REINSTALL* this POS and kindly request they stop. It's stupid. Think about it -- Scoop Technologies, Inc thinks it's perfectly ok to SPAM YOU without explicit opt-in. Do you really want them to have ANYTHING to do with your phone or your life? I wouldn't trust this company AT ALL, for ANYTHING.

Can't use it to go to work since they don't support departure times in the early afternoon.

Impressed so far. Only day one but pick up worked great this morning. Thankful for an app that coordinate my carpools for me.

I tried 3 times as driver and all 3 times got a match and immediately the other end will cancel.. One time even after reaching rider's place. I have tried contacting their support but no response. Unless Scoop has a very strict policy on cancellation and on-demand ride sharing, there will not be many users who are willing to adopt it. I stopped using it.

The concept is great. Location is broken for me and customer service is horrible. The app gets my location right for my self view but it doesn't send it to my riders so they think I am always late. After over a month of very slow response customer service told me to check with my device manufacturer. There is nothing wrong with the device. The app is clearly getting my location and showing it to me. It just isn't sending to riders.

I chose drive/ride with a preference to drive for both morning and evening for the next day. App gave me a rider in the morning so I drove to work and in the evening it gave me a driver. App is not smart enough to figure out to connect my morning and evening rides. Also failed to find a match 50% of the time between South Bay and SF.

I tried scoop many times but never found a ride. Always the sorry message at end. Not reliable and never can promise a ride. Worst service, i wont recommend

Easy to setup and use. The app makes it easy to communicate with the driver and carpoolers. There are a lot of people from my company which already has a large pool to pull from.

the driver routes are pretty bad during rush hour with no immediate fix in sight, but riders are flexible and fun and overall is fairly simple

This is a Real good app. It saves a lot of time when you carpool with others. Honestly I get a lot of benefit from this app. Nice work Scoop team. Keep up the good work.

This app has made my commute less stressful. I love planning the night before. If I leave the time window open wide I always get a ride.

I'm trying to get a scoop from 2 days and it never works. The match option needs to be improvised. Daily someone matches and cancels. Also the answer for your ride is given at 9 pm which doesn't leave another person a possibility to find another driver.
