طه حسين أسمه الكامل طه بن حسين بن علي بن سلامة[1] (1306 هـ / 15 نوفمبر 1889 - 1393 هـ / 28 أكتوبر 1973م) أديب وناقد مصري، لُقّب بعميد الأدب العربي. غيّر الرواية العربية، مبدع السيرة الذاتية في كتابه "الأيام" الذي نشر عام 1929. يعتبر من أبرز الشخصيات في الحركة العربية الأدبية الحديثة. يراه البعض من أبرز دعاة التنوير في العالم العربي [2]، في حين يراه آخرون رائدا من رواد التغريب في العالم العربي[3][4]. كما يعتقد البعض أن الغرب هو من خلع عليه لقب عميد الأدب العربي.[5]
