Tadpoles Parents for Android
App kills my battery life. My phone gets super hot even when not running the app. Ever since I downloaded it my phone freezes up. I will have to Uninstall for now. My husband's phone is doing the same so he is uninstalling as well.
I highly recommend!! Absolutely amazing :) me & my son & his father love all the teachers up there & how they do everything! Defiantly can't beat it, I'd give it 10000 stars if I could!!!
It's wonderful to have access to pictures and videos in such an organized format. I download the pictures and videos of just her, and it's great as a tool to communicate with her teachers if she is going to be out for the day.
This app, and the Tadpole service gets one star because they make it intentionally difficult to download photos of your children. Most photos include more than one child, and by design, the Tadpole app will not permit you to download photos of your children that have any other child in the photo with your child. Wait what? Tadpole thinks it's doing other kids a favor to prevent you from downloading photos of your child with that child. Tadpole does this to protect what it calls "anonymity," which is the wrong word usage, but I believe they mean *privacy.* If parents want to save a photo of their child that happens to include another child in the photo, parents must take screenshots on their mobile phone or desktop. This is a policy that is void of any rational basis because: 1. I see those other children every time I pick up and drop off my children from school; 2. the other children are actually in my child's class, and if I am permitted to view the photo of my child with another child, why does the software not let me download it? 3. I am permitted to take screenshots. This decision by tadpole only increases inconvenience and does nothing to enhance privacy. Poor design. Updated
I have no issues with this app. I love the pictures. I download them just fine. It's fairly easy to use. One suggestion- I wish I could communicate directly with the teachers through the app in real time. Overall, super happy our school adopted this.
Nice app, but could use a redesign, and it crashes on me frequently, either when I'm opening it from notifications or opening it directly.
The app is good, but it has been crashing frequently and notifications usually do not come through. Running Android 7.0 on a Moto Z Droid.
The app cannot open pictures from alerts. Unknown error is thrown. sometimes just blank screen when you click on the app. please fix the bugs. it's been long time and no improvement.
Doesn't save videos...the only reason I downloaded it.
I like this app a lot. However, since my phones were updated to Android 6.0 (marshmallow) the notifications no longer work.
Does its job. It's a bit choppy. Doesn't always update properly. Interface isn't very appealing. It needs to be updated.
Freezes. When you open it at times there is just a black or grey screen.
Initially the app was great but with the recent update I'm no longer allowed to download the photos of my child and my child's the only one in the photo... really big let down
I love the idea of this app, but it crashes every time I open it. UI could use some work.
Needs some work... The interface is fairly straightforward. It's the daily use that suffers. It crashes pretty much every time I open it. I should be able to adjust pick up time or add notes later in the day but the drop off page is locked once I drop off my little one. I can't see live updates from the class. I should be able to see things as they happen to help me know if I want to wait a little longer for pick up or to go nurse my little one (I.E. Has he had his noon bottle yet or can I go over and get a quick nursing session in). The pictures throughout the day are great. Being able to use history to note what bottles or food he has in his bag is great.
The app works fine and get status update as changes happen but UI is horrible, they should have followed simple out of box layout and components to get a decent and professional look and feel. Also, the app is rendering on whole screen (including status bar) which is horrible and they need to understand their end users and their domain.
Works fine on my wife's phone, but I can't even sign on. Forces me to try and sign on with Google every time, so I can't use the password provided by daycare. Wife uses her gmail plus daycare password, but I can't even get to the log-in.
I love being able to get updates about what's going on at my child's daycare. However, I don't receive notifications on my galaxy note 5. No drop off notification, no notification when a picture or message is posted. I have to check throughout the day to see if there are any updates. It's kind of annoying. I have checked and rechecked all my settings. Seems like it's a problem with the app. Also, the app itself could be designed better. Not particularly user friendly.
Be nice to get photos and videos in real time or close to it instead of at the end of the day. Crashes just about every time I use it. Also when I type in my notes to the teachers the notes get scrambled...update coding.
Love getting updates, video and pics but every time I download on of my baby's pics or videos it freezes up on me. When I exit app and go back in all I get is black screen.
Terrible UI. Navigation is terrible. Looks like designed by school student.
I cannot even log in to the app. When I hit the log in with gmail button, it just spins and spins and never logs in. I tried to type in my email and thr app auto recognizes the gmail acct and forces the same button that just spins and spins. REPLY - YES, my email on my google play account matches the email entered by my daycare provider. I can log in on the tadpoles website, but still not the app.
Unbelievable. Bad UI and keeps crashing and logging me out.
It's a nice app but sound on videos don't work. Tried contacting tadpoles but still haven't heard anything back. That was 2 days ago.
Crashes every time I try to use it to update my son's daily stats. Numerous bugs throughout the program.
I know this is for parents but I am a parent and a teacher. What is the name of your mobile provider app?
The latest update fixed most of my stability problems and allows me to view PDF attachments.
I was never able to validate my email using Hotmail address. States wrong code every time.
I constantly have issues with the app not working, items not being able to load, etc. It's just a very weak app for what an app should be capable of.
Great idea. Needs some improvements.
Love Great for working parents
Update: app is less glitchy but the UI is horrible. Please higher a UI designer and a human interaction specialist. Updates are slow but finally providing some needed features. Problems: I get updates for other students. Dates and pictures seem to get out of order. Unable to zoom in on pictures, nor does the app detect screen rotation. This feels like a non native app built with a 3rd party system. Where's material design? Feels like a lazy port from the iPhone.
I love the app, but for some reason on my lg v10 I don't receive notifications from the app. Notifications work fine on my Samsung s7 edge, and Blackberry Priv. We love the notification features as it helps my wife and I to know when to pick up and if our child was picked up.
Why can't I download ALL pictures of my granddaughter? Half of the time I have to find a way to work around the app so I can save a picture. It seems like it's always the cutest ones. Very frustrating!
Really annoying that you have to press the back button to stop inserting text and submit your changes (android). Really annoying that the school forced us to download the app if we wanted updates on our child health. Annoying that the app does not delete the images of your child daily after sending you emails. Annoying that their sign up procedure strongly encourage to use gmail or social media accounts.
When I try to enter today's pick up time (under contact in dropoff notes), it does not register PM times. It reverts to AM when pressing done after time entry.
All notifications have stopped except for the daily report at the end of the day. Highly inconsistent app that runs slow. Would delete it if not for inputting the morning data for my daughter so the daycare knows when she woke up, ate, diaper, etc.
No way around it. I have to sign in with my girlfriends email and have it on my phone in order to log in. Big mistake. I dont want that.
Daily updates and other information are good. But still need more features like download the photo, "pick up notification", etc..

All I receive via email and the app are the end of the day reports. I want to see the real-time updates so I can know whether my son is napping before I go downstairs. I have tried reinstalling the app, clearing the cache, and nothing worked. I reached out via email to the company and haven't heard back!
