About TabWriter
TabWriter is brought to you to ease the process of writing tabs. All you need is to open our app, hit the "Record" button and accurately play the guitar.
** We continue to develop our app. Currently, TabWriter only supports single toned melodies, and the transcription may not be 100% accurate. We are trying to improve the application, so your feedback is highly appreciated! **
Features:
- From audio to tabs: TabWriter will use your device's microphone to record audio, process it and convert it to tabs in real time. Because all of the processing happens at your mobile device, TabWriter works fast and offline.
- Editing: If something wasn't captured right you can always edit the tabs by clicking on the note or an empty space where the note is supposed to be and you'll be presented with several options of editing.
- Playback: If you want to hear what your tabs sound like we have a playback feature for this case. TabWriter will go through every note and play it for you!
- Share: After all is done, you can share your tabs with friends or send them to your email.

I installed and tried this app. It has a wonderfully clean user interface and it really does accurately tab out the notes. The major problem, making it unusable, is that it ALWAYS assumes the highest possible string. For example, if you play an A note on the fifth fret of string 6, it will show up as an open A string (zero fret on string 5). So, tabbing any song beyond the fourth or fifth fret does not work.
