SkyView® Free for Android
It's nice that this app can show you what each star and planet is and where it's going. However, I don't know if it is because I have android 7 or if it is the app, but this application can't seem to use the sensors on my decide correctly. It can't calibrate and it goes 'hay-wire' when I point the device at what should be North or South. Please fix these issues.
So app used to work just fine now it won't work at all. Have uninstalled and reloaded several times. Is just frozen. Thought it was my compass but test prove working fine. HAVE SENT REQUEST FOR HELP WITH NO RESPONSE. Please fix or give advice....
If deserves a 0 out of 1000! Point it at the full super moon and its telling ne its the star Pisces! The moon is directly over head and the app is telling me its 30 degrees to the left. Terrible, Useless, Crappy APP! It doesn't work! Tried manual fix. Same sh!t. A waste time my time.
I downloaded this for use with the beginners telescope I bought for my son, as recommended by the manufacturer. I have a brand new Sony smartphone so I know there's nothing wrong with that. This app will not show me the correct positioning of objects in the night Sky and apparently you can only manually calibrate with Apple products. Funnily enough, performance is excellent on my wife's iPhone. Extremely frustrating.
None of the stars shown in the AR are anywhere near in alignment. The view and info on the stars is great (although I wish it showed all the planets in our solar system) but when you try to find the stars in the AR view none of them are anywhere near where the app shows. GPS is working fine on my phone and other apps so must be some calibration/alignment problem with the app. Shame as it looks like it could be great.
Either it can't work out where I am or it doesn't know where the Moon is. It said North was South. Did all the calibrating suggested. It wouldn't allow me to enter settings to do any giggery pokery.
It won't calibrate. According to this app the earth has shifted to the left and I'm further south west than I really am. If this is because of Planet X.. please be the first to let us know. Two years ago it worked perfectly. Please fix it or at least explain it.
Can't identify the stars I point it at. Tried recalibration multiple times still doesn't work. Like the data it provides but the augmented reality part needs work.
Stars are great but it says I'm facing West when I'm facing south. Whether I'm letting the app get my location or I tell it Chicago it still gives the wrong compass directions.
It lined up quite perfectly with the Dec 5th, 2016 planets and moon alignment. Thank you for giving me a nice experience, and a chance to travel to orbit/space with this lovely app. I was excited like a child. THANK YOU!
Graphics ok, but information WAY out, told me the moon war rising in the east in 20 mins, but could quite easily be seen high in the west! It collaborated ok, but cannot trust any of the info. Don't know what the paid version is like, but I'm not buying it
The app is cool and the way it gives details about stars and constellations is amazing. But when I point to constellations I know are the Leon it doesn't show them and the the map is constantly moving when I being still. It's just never correct.
I had trouble using this app at first but if you go to settings and then down to space navigator and click on that and then input your 4 digit code which is in the box with the telescope to access and approve hardware it works brilliantly
Very interesting and pretty. However when I see the moon in front of me this app says it behind me and it's impossible to manually calibrate and resize which makes the AU thing a bit mute.
Just plain doesn't work anymore. No amount of reinstalling, compass calibration, or fiddling makes a difference. All the information is completely wrong.
The sun was just setting so pulled out the app to show my daughter aaannndddd.... no sun to be found on the whole app. Yep. Not as acurate as they claim.
... Unable to access menu. My son has this on his iPhone and we both love it. Installed on my Nexus 6 running nougat and the menu button doesn't work.
A little off When the moon is out and I try to sync it with the app, it's off by a bit so I know all the stars are a bit off as well. But it gets me close enough and it impresses friends when I whip it out in a group.
Skyview is great it helps me study for things i'm not learning yet. Sadly we have alot if cloudy nights lately...
It's stuck on a constellation and won't move. Nice job. Samsung Note 5
The finder for objects isn't exact. It is usually a little off to the left. For example, if the moon is out and I point my tablet at the sky facing the moon, I have to move the tablet several feet to the left. It won't discover anything new up there, but free is free.
I was able to see the International Space Station fly over Southern California tonight, 2-15-17, by using your app. Way cool! The time line was almost spot on but the path wasn't even close.
Iv done the figure 8 a million times and it fixes nothing this is a new phone wtf is wrong with this app all of a sudden
Was blown away with this app compare to other free apps. Perfect use of GPS and Mobile technologies to Map the sky ! Downloaded the app while I was setting up Telescope. Was able to locate the Star and Planet position very accurately using this app, and then its a smooth ride just pointing the Telescope at this object. Could gaze at Venus and Mars easily ! Waiting for Jupiter and Saturn, which unfortunately will not happen in winter ! Nevertheless Awesome App, with lot of information !
Calibration is clearly off. Obvious objects, like the moon, are not lining up.
Would of bought the full version if the app WORKED! Maybe put some proper instructions in the app to help new users to use it. Dont waste your time.
Doesn't work correctly. Menu button doesn't work and objects in the sky don't line up correctly. Still broken after the last update.
I have a nexus 5x. For one reason or another LG built this model in such a way that the actual camera is upside down. This is not a fault in my phone, just how the 5x is built. This app does not compensate for that and thus becomes unusual. True north for example is pointing in the complete opposite direction and there is no way to change that.
Have tried using this on more than one occasion. Point it at a cluster that I know and it gives me a cluster that is not even visible on this side of the planet.
Augmented Reality on Nexus 5x is upside down, kinda useless this app right now
This App will open your eyes to the Galaxy...Well Done, Everyone needs to get this!!
This is definitely THE app that is not just in the top 10, 5 or 3 but THE #1 APP! Amazing, the programming must be mathematical technical ecstasy. (A tip o' the hat.)
When I try and use the ap the camera view is the reverse of what's actually on screen. It's nauseating to look through and I can't seem to fix it.
Sadly this app isn't what it was before. Can't get my location automatically and the gyro calibration seems a little out
Wasnt expecting much, I downloaded it just for fun but this is probably the coolest app on my phone! My boyfriend and I spent over an hour outside tonight checking out the stars! Amazing!!!
When augmented reality is enabled, camera's view is upside down. It's a glaring bug that could probably be easily fixed.
I got myself a telescope, it's great but the automatic tracking needs to align on stars, but I don't know my starts. This app is helping me learn interactively and I'm feeling the eagerness to learn that means I'll actually remember and not gloss over like my GCSE chemistry class back in the day.
The only problem that I have with it is that the camera is vertically flipped! Nexus 5X - Android 7.1.1 with latest patches.
The tracking is off by at least 90°. I can tell where it's trying to point me too, but the moon is always to my left a good bit.

The first day I used it, I found it inaccurate, because I didn't calibrated it. The second day I did it casually, and bang on the moon was exact behind the app's moon. That tell the accuracy. Now I can find all planets and can see them when they rise or set. Great app for a man who loves the space but dont have any equipment to enjoy its beauty! And all this comes as free in small MB size. I cant believe it!!
