SkyView® Explore the Universe for Android
Well, honestly I've got some issues. More often than not, the compass will go off by anywhere from 90° to 180° meaning that nothing shows where it should be. I just now opened the app and it's frozen. Even though I can access settings, the compass and sky view is locked. And this is no the free app either!
It is really good for it's limits. The app can only do what it has access to on the phone. If the phone has a sub par gyro, then every app of this type will have the same problems.
Love this app. To those having trouble with the positions being off, you need to calibrate/reset your device's compas. Navigate to Strings>Help & Feedback>Usage Tips & FAQ. From there you can find instructions on how to correct the problem.
1st app ive used of this type! Wow! Super impressed. My 6 year old and I exploring the universe. Amazing. Set location and calibrate regularly to ensure not 180 degs out. Perfect on S7. Tried on free version for a few mins, then full paid version, well done devs. One happy dad and son.
Dear Friends, If I will not able to find perseids or 109/Swift-Tuttle comet in this time of period when all the astronomy lovers look at to the sky all night to observe meteor showers, why I should rate you five star here and advice you to my friends...my two iphone user friends told me showing empty rocket bodies or garbages to android users is enough
Love the general idea but on my Samsung S7 it's not calibrated well. I see the Moon by my eye and on camera it's something else. Tried manual calibration but it wasn't anything better improved.
I like this app a lot. I love space and its so cool to be able to identify everything that's up there. I can't believe how much space debris there is
Like everyone else.. would be great but gyro doesn't work at all even on my Samsung Galaxy tab s2 tablet
Compass / gyro often doesn't work at all on Pixel phone.
Great app for which i paid, but once i upgraded to samsung galaxy 7 the calibration is off. Please fix and I'll give it 5 stars.
Would be 5 stars, but the calibration is a little shaky on the Samsung Galaxy J3 2017.
Still trying to zero in the few degrees the app's off, but what a joy it is to know what I've been looking at all this time ...
Can't find the qr code please give me one
the search don't work like it did before
I LOVE this app so much I unstalled the free version and paid for it! It's so worth it THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH <3
Stopped working. Reinstalled it and still frozen.
Wish you could delink the phone tracking. And is most of the ngc catalogue i look for.......
Excellent app, I love using it to help orient my telescope, I highly recommend for anyone who loves astronomy
just need to calibrate app a little bit more
Gyro does not work
Won't calibrate, S7 according to the reviews this is quite common. How has this not been fixed????
Love this app. It helps me learn more then I new there was to learn about space.
I couldnt fing the Milky Way Galaxy!! Does it have another name???
what a great app , only one I've seen really worth the money
So glad it's now on Android.
The best app for tracking sky objects
Love this app. Paid for the upgrade WOW,,!!
Pretty good app for the price
Awesome ap
Great app
Speechless
Amazing
Amazing
Just works!
I can calibrate on my iPhone but not on my S7. The app will not point in the correct direction, any ideas. OTHER THAN THIS "minor" ABERRATION (probably something I'm not doing) I love it, just wish I'd discovered it earlier than 3 years ago. And the music is absolutely perfect for that "Wondrous Amazement" emotion. Stop reading and Get it now.
Hi guys, I gotta say I love this app but I'm rating it like I did because it stopped working properly on my phone.. I can no longer click the options menu on the top left, so I have almost none of the awesome you programmed and I payed for. I'm using a Moto X Force with the newest Android, any advice?
I would pay for more added options as they come, it is at the moment a very good and enjoyable experience. The Android version, I have it on iPad and there is some work to do there. But this one is perfect, considering that Google Skymap still points the wrong way and so does Mobile observatory, but mobile observatory is just unusable, all the buttons are in the corner small, can't even touch it. I tried the free version and was shocked. So paid for the full.
Nice way to easily find constelations and planets excetera. But didn't work for a long time on my Samsung 6s... wouldn't detect movement and just showed one section of sky statically. Finally after this last update Android the app started working again. Not sure how accurate it is as well as some constellations seemed to have moved the next minute... will need to play more with it again and report back. 4 yr old son loves it. Would give 4 or 5 stars if it didn't stop working for many months...
I like it in general, and it definitely worth its price. Two suggestions: a pinc-to-zoom function would be very useful, and also a manual mode. (I mean when I would be able to swipe the screen and browse the sky, insead of using the sensors. Sometimes it is really hard to select an object if there are much in a group.)

Was looking for the International Space Station right now (7-25-2017). According to the app, it was south. As I looked at my neighbors, they where looking North. That's when I realized that my app was 180° off. Completely useless.
