Synology Chat

Works great for me. Transferred lots of photos with no issues. And the app doesn't need to be on to receive messeges if you set the power and security settings up right. I'm using 7.1.1

In case I want to send a photo the transfer stops at 100% after upload button is pressed and window like creezes. If the only possibility CANCEL is pressed the window closes, like nothing was transferred, but finally it was. But one discoveres that after returning into chat few moments later. Why some OK button or s/t like this is not accessible after the transfer completes?

Not bad overall, but quite a few times per day I have "no network connection". I can connect to DSM or anywhere, but not to chat. Tested and checked everything, I'm not the only one who has that issue. Please fix in the next update. I'm using beta version on DS.

I like the app but it is frustrating that the text correction does not work on Android 7.1.1. and that it always takes so long for it to connect to NAS.

Worked till 5 months ago. Stopped working after update on both Android devices - no more connection

Unreliable connection. Slow if it does connect. No autocorrect. Unreliable notifications if it even does notifications. No watch support. Must use phone to reply. Lame and useless.

Not impressed. It does not keep connection to NAS after closing app, so you WON'T be notified when someone send you text. However, there are encryptions and secure protocol, which is good. But there are no option to choose to upload less resolution pictures so it takes time. Since this app is new, and I hope it get updated in the future.

No notifications on Android, iOS, nor desktop (Firefox).... Kinda useless for real-time conversations without this.

Not working with s8 edge lighting

I think it lack of at least one option in settings to choice from when I send picture I think the picture should be resized to some 200 or 300kb so transfer will be much faster especially on mobile network a transfer 5mb picture its take a while at the moment I use another chat it resize picture so chat works much faster I hope you will make this option soon thx

On the Google Pixel, there is no support for spell check/auto complete. And file uploads just outright fail on slow connection speeds, yet DS File succeeds with uploads, weird. Other than those few issues it's amazingly well done.

I like the idea to use nas for private chat rooms. Thanks for developing this! I can login. notifications work. Great replacement for slack for example. How do I connect it to trello for example?

A bit clunky I wish this could make someone logged in thru a web browser aware that they have a message, without the need of a plugin.

Another well done to the staff at synology, a good investment in my NAS for sure

has a lot of features I really like - hastags, @mentions, link and picture aggregation, bookmarks, search... looks fantastic, but has some performance issues on synology. looking forward for updates

App works great, I love the technical features ????. But it would be nice if the amount of unread messages shows in the app icon. Also it would be easier to read if my meages were on the right and my chat mat mesages were on the left , just like whatsapp and skype. Also I would like to chose my own notification sound. I am using samsung s6 and samsung note 10.1 2014 edition. Many thanks for this fantastic private app

using 2 factor authentification so unable to log in unless you set up quickconnect

Can't be used via quickconnect, so unless you have a fixed IP or use dyndns to map a domain name to it can't use it outside the LAN it appears.

Without notifications, it's pointless. Also you need to disable two factor authentication.

Urgent features are quick connect login and android notifications. It's a game stopper without these. Otherwise very excited to finally have a decent in house chat application and know or messages are kept safe and secure.

Please, fix issues with 2-factor authentication and make it possible to login with QuickConnectID

Notifications are not working on Android. Iphone client works well. Please fix this.
