What's the point if I get a black screen when trying to see the camera feeds? I cabled both my cameras as I thought it was maybe a wifi problem.. Nope it's this App.. Needs a lot of work. An ip cam viewet app works fine for both cameras. With this? Nope..

So I paid $300 for my Synology DiskStation (not including the drives) plus another $199 for an additional four camera licenses, and Synology thinks they can let the issue in the DS CAM application go unfixed. The app will reasonably show live view in thumbnail view, but will not show live view when viewing any single camera. Sometimes you can press the snapshot button to kick it off. This is unacceptable. Geofence doesn't work.

Live stream no longer works, it has been broken for months, this app is useless and makes my Synology useless. The thumbnail view works, I see movement, but the full view shows only one second of video then it freezes. I recently recommend to someone needing a solution for 10+ cameras to choose another product as it is completely unstable and useless. I am using a Samsung Galaxy S7 and I applied all updates to both the station and the video application.

1/9/2018 ----- Geofence is flat out broken! Never switches between home modes. Never disables when leaving. GPS, Wifi both do not work. The only time it works is manually switching. --------- Live feed when clicking on the camera is BROKEN, not able to display feed, when camera's are in Night Vision mode. This has been reported to Synology and was asked to open access to the server with full Admin rights. Instead, gave Synology support access to Surveillance System and waited a week for them to log in, Synology never did log in, even with multiple emails to them. After that week shut access down. --------- Seems Synology only adds features and ignores all the issues being reported. This will remain 1 star until GeFence and Live feeds are fixed. --------- The person(s) that manages the team for the apps should be fired as quality control is none existence.

H264 playback still doesn't work. Support form times out. This app needs a lot of work.

Cr.app! Updated Dec 17th buuuutt still cant view h264 recordings. Layyyzeeee andfor a box you pay a lot for features like this. But don't have.

It works well and connects to my Synology DS with ease. I have 2 wireless IP cameras and it does take a few to connect to them but hitting refresh helps connecting to it quicker. This app works as well with the cameras as long as they connect to the network.

Stream is freezing after clicking on camera. Cant view live stream. Thumbnail is ok. Oneplus 3t android 7.1.1

Sometimes it works, but most of the time it doesn't and just shows a blank screen. When it does work, the video feed is pretty janky, but usable.

App ziet er fijn uit, maar gebruik is erg onstabiel en lijkt wel in beta. Bij gebruik van Foscam camera's zoals de C1 is Android liveweergave prut (1 FPS!), daarnaast werkt 2 kanaal audio (microfoon) niet. Heb ook een keer gehad dat deze app bij open houden van liveweergave mijn telefoon paar keer vastliep of crashte. Daarnaast als je meer dan 2 camera's wilt gebruiken, moet je een licentie van €50 per apparaat aanschaffen. Reden is een excuus dat NVR apparaten hetzelfde hadden gekost (terwijl je wel intussen honderden euros's uitgeeft voor zo een Synology apparaat en HDD's). Ik adviseer je om liever superieure apps zoals Tinycam of Foscam te gebruiken, deze app gaat waarschijnlijk grote ergernis geven. Deze app is alleen fijn voor betere Camera opname opslag en detectie meldingen zonder externe cloud. Gebruik wel een eigen VPN server zoals OpenVPN om je Camera's te bereiken. Bijna alle hebben namelijk zeer ernstige beveiligingsproblemen, dus nooit direct aan het internet blootleggen. Btw, de browser interface voor Surveillance binnen Synology is gewoon ok hoor, ook op Android, hoewel het fijner als ook op de app had zijn geweest.

Love the app but have one feature request. I run the app on a old mobile constantly so we are able to see who's at the door etc however I also have a web browser running under android split screen. Currently when you enable split screen while DS Cam is running there is a popup saying "app may not support it". DS Cam continues to run and looks like it works however after some time the cameras in multi view stop updating and to get a live image you need to go back to the main screen then restart multiview. Not sure if I am the only person who uses the app like this but would be great if this was fixed!

Now can't even live view. Says loading forever or just says "Can't play". Then even OK doesn't work and needs to be force closed. Absolute garbage. Synology... Don't release software if you're not going to do it properly. It will be destroy your reputation. Waivering over my next Synology purchase now. Managed to view a live camera, but it just crashes if I try to view a recording. That's the more important feature as far as I'm concerned so this is useless. I still don't understand how Synology thinks it's ok to release software in this state.

Slow. Unreliable. Crashes at the drop of a hat. Would not recommend Synology NAS for surveillance use. To Synology.... ...please bring back the option to use an external player for recordings. I was previously able to use VLC which supports 4x playback speed which is great for reviewing alerts. The new integrated player has very limited functionality. ...please allow switching to the high quality stream from within the player.

It doesn't matter if I input the Quick Connect ID or the IP address it just states that it is loading when I click on my camera. It shows loading the entire time and does not do anything else.

Slow, buggy & borderline useless. Not what I expected of Synology! You either see "Loading" for a good few minutes, followed by a blank screen... or a picture for all of 10 seconds before it too cuts to black.

I really am disappointed in synology. App crashes when I open it after a while, it is slow, and not functional. Another thing that frustrates me is all those pluggins that I have to download to view my camera's on PC. For a company that flames to be one of the best NAS providers, things are way off.

Phone and tablet. Stable near-rt images, and access to all recordings. Finding a recording is a bit of a nuisance: scroll down through a (long) list of timestamps.

Works well for viewing live video and recordings, but there's not much else in terms of functionality. Notifications arrive and can be viewed - it would be nice if it would automatically pull up the associated video file when I click the notification rather than force me to go searching. Also, it's a truly awful battery hog. I noticed that my Pixel XL is struggling to keep a charge through the day since I installed this. I checked the app settings and DS Cam is by far the highest consumer (33%). That's crazy.

Home mode is broken. It doesn't switch when you leave or enter the geofence making this feature completely useless...

Terrible app, crashes every 2 minutes or so. It's a good idea in theory, but you're better off trying to navigate the non mobile friendly web interface.

Live view mode just showing black screen (or green?!) Recordings are fine. Running Pixel XL. iPad version works perfectly

The previous version was OK. But once again the app is broken and doesn't play recordings. Live view still works but is slow to load. App crashes on next load if not cleared from your running apps when you exit.

Current version crashes immediately with recordings. Pity as last version was very useful. I have sent feedback sometime ago but Synology aren't in a rush to fix it.

Location cannot be set for Geofence, hence it cannot be started. No place to send a feedback about this. Therefore, useless function.

Long way to go.... upgraded version just got worse. I cannot view via s7 anymore. Generally very, very slow if does load. Considering QNAP now.

Works perfect on HTC 10. No crashes, smooth playback. I have noticed that Samsung devices typically wont work without changing stuff as their default player won't render the videos from DS Cam. It's a shame that people post bad reviews based on their phone manufacturer's choice to not support such basic file types and functions. I have 40+ cameras at 4 different sites all with Synology and they work beautifully. In most cases the problems are due to being a Samsung or that people don't know how to properly network their equipment.

After last update with geotagging support that I wait so much, the app become unreliable. It crashes on my Samsung s8+ even if I'm not using it. :( please fix that ASAP

I am getting used to the app slow response, but now after the last update it won't show any live video !! what's wrong Synology... I think you need to build the app from scratch up

What happened??? Terrible since recent changes to use internal video player. It is slow and locks up/crashes after a couple minutes. No use to me like this, please resolve.

Nice app but poor browser support means setting up and checking setup isn't easy. No desktop support for chrome, edge of even variants of IE.

Just not working half of the time.... Almost always skipping recordings and displays the message that recordings can't be played... Terrible!

After last update app is crashing all the time. Please fix that soon.

Can't see live view... It loads forever... At every start is crashing... Please fix it!

This latest version does not show me Live View any longer on my Samsung Note. Previous version worked fine. Need some attention.

Doesn't do what it is supposed to do. Live view stayed black and loads forever event at very low video quality 448x256 5fps

Works 10% of the time...other IP camera apps are much more reliable, faster and feature rich.
