Norton WiFi Privacy Secure VPN for Android
Update: After the dev asked me to uninstall and reinstall, this app works great on the U.S. Haven't been back to Mexico, but I will be back in December, so hopefully I have better luck this time! Original review: Continuously disconnects. I am traveling in Mexico, where I feel I need the protection the most, and the app keeps disconnecting. I have to reopen the app, wait for it to reconnect, and then continue back to the Internet. Not what I was hoping for. Please contact me if you can fix this issue, I am willing to pay the subscription fee if the app works, otherwise I'm going to cancel after the free trial.
When i bought my Norton security deluxe and downloaded on my s7 i was told this app we free. Turns5 out its only free for 7 days. Ridiculous! I purchased deluxe internet security for 5 devices and I'm getting milked for extras. What s big scam!
When turned on totally prevented my emails from sync. No emails received for 12 hours before I figured it out. Even changed the settings. I'm in Michigan. Originally connected to a secure connection in California. Secure connection in Chicago made no difference. Hope I'm not paying for the service. Using a Galaxy S7 Active.
It asked me to create an account and after doing that several times and not being able to get in I gave up. Not sure why it kept telling me my password that I had just created was wrong and then would send me back to the create an account screen.
Eh? This app doesn't really do anything. I have already paid for a Norton Internet Security product so why would I want to pay another £30? They must think people are idiots. Don't bother replying and trying to justify this, I'm not interested
I have purchased the full subscription and after I login it brings me to a confirmation page saying I've already purchased the full subscription and it brings me back to the login page. It's a continuous cycle. I've already uninstalled and installed again but doesn't work. I want an immediate refund!
The notification appeared to come from Norton, where I already have an account. I therefore assumed that I was purchasing it from Norton, with the Playstore as facilitating the transaction. My Norton subscription is for multiple devices, this purchase only covers the one device I started the trial from. This is not acceptable, and I am trying to cancel the subscription.
Great app when it works. Worst Customer Service i've ever experienced. Was transferred 4 times back n forth, twice to the same department and still couldn't fix my issue. Very rude customer service people.
Norton Wi-Fi works as advertise but at a greater cause. What tends to happen every time I use it on my Android phone is that it downgrade my internet speed drastically. In fact, what would normally take me few seconds would then take me a minute if not more. To bypass all I simply turn off Norton Wi-Fi then close and restart all my apps and everything works fine from there. I hate to say it but this service is not ready for mass public use
It feels like my other apps, esp. Chrome and Facebook, have slowed down after adding this app. Also, it may have been renewed when I inadvertently pressed something and it didn't bother to confirm the "renewal". Couldn't get Customer Service to reverse it if I did renew by mistake. Trying them again, but this is NOT cool....
Would be even better, would rate 5 if not paid but limit one device uses at a time. I have paid my rating is 3 and not 5 because it can only be used on one device at a time , not paying for it for my other devices , I know some van providers limit the devices on an account but only a couple , simply expected more from the supposed no 1 in online security , once this subscription ends I will get all u offer on this app for similar price but not have to choose which device gets it, they will cover multiple devices at once if the need be .., thanks for your terrible reply , poorest CS and the nail in coffin to why norton is now not my goto security software and none of my norton security suites will be renewed . Samsung Galaxy Note 4. App would not open on unsecured Networks it only opens on my secured Wi-Fi network or my AT&T network. Can't get it to work or open on Wi-Fi hotspots. Worthless. Uninstalling. Cm is better and it's free.
It was great until time to renew. Now, although I've paid for the whole year, the app has a pop up that says "Subscription Expired Renew Now" I've paid, but I'm still unable to use the app.
Think Norton WiFi Secure for my Sony Xperia is good, but I am disappointed with Norton having to pay for this part of the service. As I subscribe anualy on my Pc for up to 20 devices, something to think about Norton for loyal customers!
SIGNIFICANTLY reduces your data transfer speeds. In spite of the response from app developer... the speed reduction is extreme, NOT small. With this app, download speed of 10 Mbs and upload speed of 2Mbs. Without this app, download speed of 70Mbs and upload speed of 12 Mbs.
After installing the app I CAN NO LONGER PLAY SOME GAMES...LIKE ANGRY BIRDS 2... if I disable it I'm able to play the game....
Keep on reconnecting it, cos it keeps on disconnecting + since downloading battery drains fast
Simply put, 99% of the time it does not work. Whenever I connect to a open Wi-Fi hotspot and the app kicks in to put me in the VPN, i can no longer connect to the internet on my device. So I call their customer service number. The absolute WORST customer service I have ever experienced in my entire life! I waited for about 10 to 15 minutes before someone picked up. They then transferred me to a different department. I was then on hold for exactly 1 HOUR AND 4 MINUTES! To add insult to injury when I asked why it took so long for someone to answer, the lady, who was obviously from the Philippines, was unbelievably rude and responded as if how dare I ask such a question. Didn't even apologize for the hold time. After listening to the issue at hand she says she wants to transfer me back to the original Department who transferred me to her! She then rudely transfers me without even giving me a chance to reply. Exhausted, frustrated and my battery being close to dead, I hung up in disgust. I have Norton products on all my tablets laptops and cell phones. I will not be renewing my subscriptions on any of them to do this hideous experience and this sorry excuse for a privacy app.
No free trial should need or require payment authorisation before the free trial begins. Also not sure why this is not included with Norton Mobile since on a mobile is the only place either app will run. Reading the other reviews shows a lot of We-Answered-This-Before-6-Months-Ago replies from Norton. Just as the free trial banks on the user not taking the extra effort to cancel on the 7th day, so do the replies count on the user not looking up the referenced reply. Too much slight of hand going on with Norton's PR and sales staff.
Does what it should. If using it on multiple devices buy it with a windows computer for 5 devices the load with code on tablets, phones, etc as playstore only sells one application app. I use it to keep password log in and banking safer when using public wifi.
Couldn't open Google maps either directly or in frames with this installed and active. Only time I need this app is travelling; guess when I use maps most....
Is very slow, sometimes so slow I couldn't even login to Gmail, you can forget access to YouTube, and it mangled some URLs. Support is useless. They say they will look into it but merely wait a few weeks or months before asking if the problem has gone away!
One thing is claimedand another is delivered. It should be free, as a backup, it's below standards. Maybe someday will improve...
I can not retrieve my stolen phone's calendar or s memo and transfer to my new phone here? Help! It has all my appointments and notepad information. Help send from the backup or cloud please and thanks.
The free trial and auto billing business model is bad enough to make me not use ANY Norton products.
Doesn't work. I want my money back. Always leaves my tablet vunerable. Always ask to sign in before it becomes useful.
This is the 3rd day of phone calls trying to resolve this problem (SERVER ERROR -2018) cant use the app I payed for

I have always had Norton and it is the ONLY virus protection/privacy protection for wifi that I would ever trust.
It is a very useful app but not an app I would like to keep but as I have purchased a subcription I would like to cancel and get my money back as I am not entirely sure it is the best as it tends to need me to go on to the app at times and wait for it to respond

Norton hides location and I P address! Love it. Also, blocks AD trackers.

This app needs some work. First, the vpn's it connects me to are really slow (Norton:i have stats if you want to see them). Second, when i'm back at home on my own network it is still trying to connect to their vpn when it should just let me connect directly over my home network. A couple of suggestions, speed up your vpn severs (at 1 million downloads @ $29.99 you should be able to buy better servers and a better pipe) and second let me tell the app when not to connect ie at home no vpn.
