Norton Core Secure WiFi Router

Love it

I installed the Norton Core router yesterday and am experiencing far superior stability and signal strength as compared with my internet provider's router. Set up was straight forward using the instructions on the Norton Core Security Plus Android app. Norton Core is excellent.

Just replaced Google WiFi with this & so far I am glad I did. This app is 12 times better than Google's. Device is better too with more Lan ports. Minor annoyance is that I changed the password to be as secure as they recommended but my score didn't improve.

"Norton Core keeps stopping"..... WHY? Uninstalled and reinstalled the app multiple times. Set my gateway combo modem/switch to bridge mode as instructed. Reset the core. Nothing fixes the app problems - the app still won't open. Listen Norton, this is wayyyyy too buggy for me to have confidence that this app-only controlled device is worth keeping.

Well... I like what I have so far but I can't select a channel as the app keeps crashing when I click on auto... Help pls

How slow can you go? With gigabyte fiber network speed, this router turns it into nothing better than a phone modem. What were you thinking, Norton, when you designed this router!! Returning this $250 pile of junk and reconnecting my Nighthawk. Stick to security software, which you do very well. Pull this off the market before you ruin your image.

how to use and install router ??

Norton Norton Norton! How many times should I tell you quit playing silly games. I don't want your product in all my devices to stay secure! I enjoy different security suites over you! If I don't have Norton Security installed, I'll get a low security score. WOW!

Alright. So it's a promotional product basically. If you don't install & buy Norton Security For Your Devices, Your security score goes down. I have Kaspersky, BitDefender & Norton on 3 individual devices. Kaspersky & BitDefender Devices Run smoothly while Norton One's lags a lot & kills my device's RAM. & What This carpware shows? Devices With Norton is secure & Devices with Kaspersky & Bitdefender is Not secure. Like, For real? -_-

Getting very mad just got my router and trying to set up and every time I get to sign in screen is blank and nowhere for me to sign in

I've had the Norton core for a week. Every 2 days I need to reset device, reload app, and perform setup again, and again, and again. Nice idea, poor product and support,

Great router, but app has the following issues. HOME: shows number of threats blocked, but can't click on number for details. ALERTS: content filter alerts in activity feed provide when changed, but not what. NOTIFICATIONS: Clicking "yes" to allow blocked on shared devices doesn't add them to allowed sites; doesn't remember when "no" was clicked for blocked site, continues to ask whether to allow. SECURITY: doesn't auto-detect devices with Norton security software already installed. PEOPLE: sites removed from blocked sites list show up after clicking "save" & leaving screen; won't let you remove last item left on block list if there is only one left. DEVICES: not possible to remove user assigned to device from device profile. NETWORK: setting a priority device shouldn't require restarting router; not possible to temporarily prioritize device for customizable duration of time; no Internet kill switch on the network screen. SETTINGS: default time zone for router is incorrect & gives error when attempting to change; changing guest network shouldn't risk knocking router offline. OTHER: Web block screen doesn't allow user to send message through giving reason for needing access.

Overall the Core is a great success for our family. Some of the family functionality seems immature and needs improvement. When bed time rolls around one of the kids will disable but not the others. Sometimes the kids will reach their daily limit on time when they haven't been online all day. Not sure if that is because of something their iPad is doing in the background or an error in the app.

Sep 10 update - app Version 1.14 - seems to be stable and is much, much more responsive. Obviously not the most mature, feature rich of apps, but it has largely been stable for me. Lots of suggestions in the other comments, so I won't bother repeating them, just make sure to keep actively improving. The device itself has exceeded my primary requirement which was to provide a string signal in all areas of the house

Good range and probably good security, but when using OKLA speed test app it crashes router. Weird

I've been a Norton customer for the longest and I was pretty excited about Norton Core, but I have spent more than 12 hours (including at least three hours on the phone with Norton tech staff based outside the US who keep telling me to do the same thing over n over again - talk about insanity) trying to setup the Router with no success....they think it is something about my static IP address! Every other router has been pretty much plug n play. At this point I think I am returning the router.

The app itself isn't quite ready for prime time. It has a simple and intuitive dashboard which is nice but there are a few (prob'ly advanced) options missing. On the negative side, it crashes during Network Inspection & when creating People/Users. The router seems to be working nicely thus far. Love the guest network! I really wish I could configure the router w/ a web browser rather than depend upon my mobile device.

Had some issues with the set up but after getting help from tech support over the phone its up and running and we love it. Definitely getting better, faster wifi in the far ends of the house. Awesome product!!

Missing so much... I can't remove a site that was accidentally added to the allow list. Background services/updates on PS3, XBOX, ipad, etc... use up kids' time limits. Can't set a timeframe for allowed use (1pm to 7pm). You only get to set a bedtime timeframe, night can only be set to PM and wake can only be set to AM. No way to see web details for kids, only data amount used. Can't set devices to have permanent priority, you have to reset them every 24hrs.

So far so good . Setup was easy. Only 3 slots for cable hookups my old router had 4 which I was using

New product with a few minor bugs

It is very easy to set up and use!

Need the ability to nickname devices.
