SylaBilt is a beautifully designed app that allows students to upload their course syllabus on their smart phone and then populates the user's calendar with all upcoming due dates for homework, group projects, exams and tests.
Every student can attest that writing down due dates and other information can be a very time consuming task. And while writing it down is important, remembering the due dates is even more important. Designed for convenience and efficiency, SylaBilt eliminates all the hassle of manually writing down due dates. But that's not all; the app also sends reminders on when to begin studying so that students can be thoroughly prepared to ace their exams. SylaBilt is the brainchild of Isaac Martinez and Alex Giampetro- former college students and now graduates in the field of Marketing. Questioned about their motivation for creating the app, they explained: "As full time students, we were always filtering through our syllabi to stay on track. With no real solution to track our syllabi, other than the traditional paper student planners, we had to make my own." And several students are already benefiting from this innovative app. One student commented: "I remember 3 years ago it was my sophomore year in college. I wanted to get a 4.0 and the biggest issue I had was remembering simple assignments. I spent over 4 hours TRYING (didn't even finish) putting my syllabi into my computer on my iCloud. Now there's an app for that!"
