GPS Navigation & Offline Maps Sygic for Android
Compared to many other navigation apps, Sygic has some very handy features, such as the gas station distance display, offline navigation and 3D architectures. I encountered some small issues when I was testing it. The voice notification went through my bluetooth conneciton even if I opt not to transmit media audio through bluetooth, Some of the route choices are not really optimal given the traffic condition. Overall it's a really good app, but it can be more polished.
Real view navigation doesn't really work as you would expect. Fuel prices unavailable for the Netherlands (was not mentioned before I bought it. It is important info for me). Maps are okay. The speed is inaqurate with 8 km/h on avg. Dash info is good. Doesn't update fast enough on congestions ahead (compared to Google maps, which is free). Speed cameras are not updated regularly. Menu options are good. Anyway, I really look forward for you guys to improve. I hope many changes will arrive as well as beta option for users.
after update to oreo version i am not able to download any map. sygic is hanging at 0%. all previously downloaded maps are no more? EDIT: looks like sygic isnt working with card encryption enabled. minus another star for useless comment from commercial support.
This is absolutely the best of class navigation on the planet. It is: easiest to use, ultra fast, very rich in features. Worse every penny you pay for a lifetime! license. I also licensed Sygic Travel, another must have. Sygic's support is outstanding and very responsive. I rate Sygic ***** +*
if you don't want to get lost do not bye this app anymore. I've the paid app for several years, but the maps provided are months behind actuality. anyone at SYGIC takes complaints serious? check out the replies from SYGIC, always the same predefined reply, maybe convenient if you are sitting on the beach
A garbage which cannot connect to server when you need. Even I have purchased it two years ago, everytime I start it I have to log in again. But surprise, I can't log in. My email isn't mine, the password is wrong or things like this. It's third time. I wanted to download a new map quickly. Don't waste your money.
Google maps will most of the time be my default app for navigation, but as a back up Sygic is the best, has everything I need for offline navigation. I have seen a number a low reviews on the playstore, for me it works well & as expected, plus I bought it in the sale so I couldn't be happier. Thanks
A great product has become unusable since the last update. It updated and told me to download the latest maps. I started the download waited & waited.... It has deleted my old maps and can't download the new ones. I bought lifetime speed cameras (& everything else) 2 years ago. Swapped phone in the summer & it's forgotten that I bought speed cameras. It was so good and now it's unusable. Please get it working again.
I live in Athens Greece. I was about to buy the app with the traffic option but the times are all the times incorrect. Compared to google maps traffic i see differences of even of 20 minutes. This is way too big especially when you are on a hurry and you need this app to go fast. Also once i checked for a POI (Starbucks Ampelokipoi) and there isn't on the map. 3 stars because of traffic. I may try it a later time to check if it is working as it should and then i will buy.
Updated this at the end of January, repeatedly crashes. Keeps displaying the units in km although it is set to miles, the voice guidance will not work although it is active and the automatic redirect does not work you have to stop the app and restart it! Have had to completely uninstall and start again, I hope that this will work. Very disappointed with this update it is truly awful for what was a good app.
I have experienced some stability issues in the past, and the developers have been very responsive when I contact them. They released a patch for me to directly address the issue within 24 hours. The app itself is elegant and top notch. I have used nearly all Android navigation apps, both free and paid. Sygic is the winner!
Used to be good. Now it is completely unreliable. I am using the Greek map. 1. I enter the street number, region and zip code and it guides me to the same street number but in a different region and zip code. Streets in Greece sometimes start their numbering again and one has to specify the region in order to specify the exact location he want to get at. 2. Sometimes it gets me to the correct street but to a completely different number. Each time I have to check whether it will guide me correctly. If it does not, I simply have to use google maps. It is a shame! (version 17.3.13, map version 9.01)
Before you purchase this. Make sure you have no intention of moving over to iOS at a later date. You will not be able to transfer your license. This is what they said to me today. If I want to continue to use their gps I will have to re purchase all the "lifetime" licences again. Considering I've bought not just maps but other addons too.
I found the user interface to be unusably unintuitive and of course there is no user guide or help system. Could not even manually enter a home address or edit the incorrect one that the app got from location. I'm going to stick with one of their competitors' products despite some interesting.features that Sygic offers.
I reviewed an earlier version, in 2015, when iI was having trouble with an update, and now I have just updated to 17.3.13 I am having more problems( different ones). When I try to get uk and German maps I just get a timer on the screen and no list of regions is shown. Is this just me? It's most annoying, as it doesn't work without maps!! Later: it appears that if there are no downloaded regions then you just get the timer. Have to add maps from the + symbol. Not very obvious why the country is listed if there are no maps downloaded. But it does work when you have pushed a few more buttons!!
I'm using an up to date Sony Xperia ZX running Android 8. I have paid for the premium licence but the software keeps dropping out whilst navigating a route. The app also stops when trying to send feedback to Sygic. This is not good for a premium app. If it cannot keep a route active, what is the point !!
Looks good and feature rich but sometimes gives bizarre route information. Randomly downloads maps over mobile data (annoying and costly), switches to metric units when imperial selected, inconsistent display of route data. NO REPLY from Customer Support. If you are spending money, look elsewhere.
bought this product 3 years ago later purchased europe lifetime maps as well, also it came with voice navigation. Voice navigation has now disappeared unless you pay more! you cant take away normal features that someone has paid for. This also makes this app very unsafe when you have to be looking at the screen. sorry you need more money but please dont cheat me
Some features are missing. There is no history so you can't easily navigate back to somewhere you've recently been to. No quick search to find a poi. And now it won't show points of interest near a destination.
I thin in its the best app of its kind ever. But additional apps that I would like to purchase are more than I can afford right now for someone like me trying to live on social security alone. But other than that it rates more than 5 stars!
Just downloaded this app and having some difficulty finding my way around it... I will give it time before a final verdict... Updated: (Search feature has improved significantly. 5 stars for me!)
I bought lifetime license for Europe and I was happy until I checked with some points like that no price fuel in Belgium and there is a lote of addresses doesn't exist on Belgium map and the most of speed cameras are not updated. Yesterday I made trip for 80 km and I asked the app shorter way he made me drive for one hour and half I am very disappointed really
New search function is not as good as previous version. It is no longer possible to enter a start position as it assumes start is current location so can't plan a route in advance from a different start position. Sometimes provides unnecessary detours thru back streets instead of the direct route.
I used this app way back in 2014 and it really wasn't good. Unintuitive to use, muddled search, poor navigation. But I have to say it's a hundred times better now. Offline walking directions are really good - oh, and it got me round unknown French towns too. Definitely four stars.
Maps are accurate. Display info is good. Route prediction is average and pedantic. Time and distance to run information can often be significantly wrong. There should be a "no U-turn" option in settings. Voice commands worked once. Now all I hear are random beeps.
Even after 8 to 9 months there is no change to the old outdated maps. MAP. ME which is free seems to have better maps and ease of usage. Regret paid Sygic for something that always shows me I am off road because there are new roads which Sygic have not updated. Cannot even locate well known places.
Trafic add-on needs data or Wi-Fi to work. If I had data I would just use Google maps. Would have been nice to know that info before I bought the tragic add-on. Asked for a refund with no response... Update. I have since bee sent a link to talk to someone about my refund and they agrreed to give me a refund. I will update my l review when I receive it.
I'm confused as to why anyone would prefer Google Maps to this. So far I have only encountered a single map error during regular use, which cannot be said about GM at all. Trip time is overestimated a little, but that's a minor nuisance.
Terrible app I have used, keep showing me the wrong way, even go into forbidden road, lane assistant is not helpful at all, especially on motorway. I have just been charge by PCN bus lane because of this stupid app. What a terrible app!
Installed it because I wanted to have the speed limit signs during navigation. When I drive from place to place there is no vocal turn by turn. Even after double checking to make sure it was enabled.
I drive a different route 5 days a week at night. The pressure is off trying find my stops.
I like Sygic. I've used it for years. I like the interface and features. I run it on Motorola X Play. BUT sadly my confidence in it has reached a low point. I've just driven 2.5 hours. It randomly and spontaneously rebooted itself 4 times (including 5 minutes after setting out. The final straw was right at a crucial junction - and then it changed the destination to some place in the opposite direction. Fortunately I could resort to Google Maps. I have reported this problem some weeks ago via app feedback. Maybe this 1 star will result in some action. ============================= What has happened? 2 hour journey, crashed about every 10 minutes!
I've had Sygic since it first came out.. now nothing is working and every time I log in it's saying cannot connect ... what's going on guys .. I've got Europe maps and can't get them now .. and I nerd them ..
The only downside to this Navigation app is the inability to search places by their names like Google maps. For example, Pet shops, shop names, etc.. Otherwise, it's a good navigation app. Highly recommend
Used this for a couple of years now. Purchased premium World-Traffic + Real View X 2 on Sygic best sale of them year. Purchase was a "No-Brainer". Sygic is great. Period. We have no interest in apps requiring being online i.e. Google maps. Sygic maps can be stored on an SD card, freeing up valuable space on our tablets and phones. Contacting Sygic was a bit difficult for me, but once I made an issue about a Real View license not being recognized on one device it was seamlessly fixed by then next day. Comparing this app to our 6 year old Garmin dedicated device costing $200.00 . . . For mapping they are neck & neck with a dedicated device ahead by a nose, maybe. Accessing their extra features is still easier for me on a dedicated device. That may be my unfamiliarity with this app. Comparing to a dedicated device: Rating 9.5 for the routing Rating 9.0 for the extras Rating 9.5 for Real View Rating 9.5 for HUD I have not looked into Sygic"s new Travel Goodies add-on yet. Look folks, just like dedicated music players and nifty small digital camera are becoming history, then writing is on-the-wall for dedicated GPS devices
This app is great!! Big plus is because it's offline (without internet) usage, with accurate informations on the roads. Just set your desired destinations and get there easy.
After this last update the app has been functioning wierd it freezes or the location services is not consistent and the worse part is i cant put in waypoints anymore i deliver pizza and waypoints are very important to me i like using this app for the speed monitor as google maps does not have that but it does have waypoints
I am a long term user. Sygic updates keep breaking the app. Over December An update allowed me to search by address again. My voice Kate announced my 2,420,300 mile trip to work (24.2 miles) to illustrate how updates often cause a new issues. Maps still white on grey where are the green backgrounds we used to have. V15 was 5 star this is 2 star. Zoom buttons are restored which helps. Why continually mess with a such a good app and keep moving it backwards
Great UI, a good rival for TomTom, would give 5 stars however it's displaying the speed cameras for the wrong side of the carriageway! On the M25 this evening it alerted for the ones the other side, but not the ones on my side!!

Great offline app for navigation with good features especially when we don't have access to internet (overseas). Voice nagivation is good. However, it doesn't speak out when you have to take another lane at any junctions. It just displays the lanes and it's not recommended to look a the mobile to confirm the lane. Google maps has got advantage in this case.
